shantti: The way you mentioned African historian is funny as if such existed in the past Of course, it's funny. But I believe we had historians. Just that the histories were passed down orally and through ballads and storytelling. Nothing was written down. So they are lost. |

PlayerMeji: So we in Africa that managed to stay alive throughout 536AD do not need any mention? How did you come to this conclusion. African historians did not record the impact of that event on their communities, so there are no African sources to incorporate into this historical research. |

It's an interesting read and I recommend it for your research. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: An Employer Asking Applicant About His Salary In His Previous Work.is It Right? by otomatic(m): 8:52pm On Jan 12, 2021 |
The question is normal. A corporate organisation will not use that to determine your pay because they already have a pay structure for every role. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for one-man businesses.
The recruiter most times already has an idea of the pay range in your previous role. If you cannot be transparent about your last pay, the recruiter may be left wondering what else you are hiding. |

xProfx: The issue of taxation for companies with nationwide branches should be revisited. All of these banks pay federal taxes, they're still expected to pay state taxes, making it double taxation. I am not a tax expert, but that doesn't seem fair... These are the things that drive the cost of transaction upwards and customers won't understand. There are different taxes e.g VAT goes to FG, WHT of a sole proprietorship goes to State, Signage goes to LG depending on the locality. You will not see where one pays for business premises for instance, to both FG and State or LG. It's just that the taxes are much and come with different names. |

seunmsg: Great! Apart from addressing the house, he should also be interrogated by lawmakers. He must answer all the questions that have been bothering the minds of Nigerians as it relates to insecurity and why he is so reluctant to remove the service chiefs and rejig the strategy being employed in the war on terrorism.
We want to see a very serious, honest and frank engagement and not the usual clapping and cheering session. That is when the invitation will make sense but I doubt. He will appear with a prepared speech and read from it, then the house will give a standing ovation and we are back to business as usual. Sadly, there will be no interactive engagement. |

thesicilian: Instead of giving them such huge amount of money to embezzle, why can't the government just allocate designated petrol stations for all police and other government agencies to be filling up for free on a regular basis. That way there will be better accountability and less loopholes for mismanagement of resources. Good idea. But they are so corrupt that they will start selling fuel by siphoning from the vehicles after buying or colluding with station attendants to fill containers instead of cars. If you catch them, they will say they are storing it for emergency situations. |
