Government can surely default. Please read about Argentina's case.

Govt cannot default on Naira denominated instruments. They will simply print more money. Default can be on the Foreign currency instruments like Eurobond, as they have no control over those currencies (they need to earn it as against printing it).

Ordinary contract, you cannot read and understand before signing. That's how you will just sign you life and future generation away. They will just bring one car/cash and next thing, you are signing on auto mode.

The person that gave you the contract/agreement will surely cover himself first, read to check if you are covered too. Better still have your own lawyers review and advice all business contracts before you sign.

Bro queuing at ATM as in Nigeria does not negate the fact that the banking sector is advanced. It's just that the average Nigerian still prefers cash despite other alternatives provided. Also banks like Zenith are very time conscious in their dealings from my experience.As for the cheque deposit issue, we have something similar in Zenith iteller. Download the app and check it out. All banks. The rates are uniform as stipulated by the CBN's guide to bank charges. However, some may have specialized savings products, like the former Diamond bank' high interest deposit account, that will give slightly higher rates. But the rate I quoted is for a normal savings account.

Your savings account interest rate, presently 4.05% is better than tbills. Just make sure you don't withdraw more than 3 times a month so as to earn it.
