Sometimes these responses make me feel that Nigerian women feel like they have to act like they are brainless and utterly stupid to be a good wife. How the hell can a mother in law send someone packing. The husband cannot send anyone packing not to talk of mother in law

None. Genny is too sophisticated to be a beauty queen. She is beautiful but I cannot see her settling for beauty queen. As for Ini she pretty but she is too , I don't know the word

When I was a kid we had a guy that used to visit with us and he was blind in one eye. I was so fascinated by the eye and I just had to know what happened to it. I knew I could not do it while my mom was around so I waited for the perfect time. As soon as I thought it was safe I said "Brother what happened to your eye". Unfortunately what I thought was a whisper was loud enough for my mom to hear. She and my Aunty brushed me that day.

Cheating can be grounds for divorce but in reality far worse can happen. If the person was a habitual cheater then yes. If it was a one time thing and the person is genuinely sorry and taking strides to show you that he/she is sorry and values the relationship then why throw away a good thing. I believe that a man that cheats once is better than a man than hits once.

I guess I am the only one shocked at the statement. It makes me even feel like the poster himself is not well in the head. There just seems to be a very casual attitude about rape. Well listen to the advice that people have kindly offered. You are not a cake that everyone has to get a slice of. Be happy in your relationship and focus on making a stable life for your child. If you do not mind my asking how did your husband die? Was he buried in Nigeria? Did they get to bury him or did he get buried in the UK and so they have not really dealt with it? You do not have to answer if you are not comfortable. I am just trying to rationalize why they are making this request

I think his fear is that if they try to pick him up that people might assume that it might be for ritual purposes and might lynch them. I think it would be smart to use uniforms becuase even if the police were to walk in on them bundling the man into a vehicle the police might even say they were kidnapping him.
