The only acceptable outcome will be to fire that man. I would say Nigerians should boycott but I know it willnot happen. That animal should not be allowed in a work place. if he does and he seriously injures another person the company could be sued because they had prior knowledge of his violent outbursts. keeping him there is saying that they condone abuse in the workplace. Any judge worth 10 kobo will see it that way

They need to start prosecuting parents that do not protect their children. Her mother should pay for this since she chose to abandon her. The father might not have known that the kids where no longer with the mother based on what her aunty said. Still the father should pay up. People should not just keep having kids and leave them to be treated like animals by total strangers. Look how many hands this child passed through. they were just moving her from one home to the other like tupperware

Do you bosom feed? if you do continue doing it and increase the frequency. You said he sweats a lot?We don't want him to get too dehydrated.

One thing new mamas don't know is, they need to make sure their house is kept clean. Watch where they wash their babies clothes. Kids have got sensitive nose, They are good dust inhalers
Eww Jenny. Honestly you never know. I know this lady that smells so bad that I thought that maybe she just did not use deodorant. I finally realized that she does not take a shower everyday. If she does not wash her as.s everyday how will she think it is necessary to wash her hands even if they were filthy dirty. Then when someone like that is told to wash her hands before she touches a baby she go dey frown face. LOL
FamilyRe: Pls Is This True Abt New Born Babies And Tetanus? by Outstrip(f): 11:36am On Sep 10, 2011
You did not pass anything on to your baby. The sneezing and the mucus can be tied to the same thing. The air in the room might just be too dry. The humidifier was a good suggestion. You can also just turn off the AC and open the windows early in the morning and in the evening. As for the tetanus thing I have never heard of that.

PS
Wash your hands before you do anything with him and not everybody who walks into your home needs to carry the baby. If they must then they should wash their hands also. I don't know why people don't know that you should wash their hands before carrying someones baby. Only God knows if they scratched their bum before they entered the house.

I don't even know if it is advisable for her to get pregnant with this man at this point. Pregnancy will nto change his character. She should think about her health. I doubt that any doctor would advice you to rush into a pregnancy after that sort of surgery.

Call the police because of an argument. I think people that abuse the emergency system should be arrested when the police get there. There might be someone else whose life depends on the line and some thing else is calling to report that their spouse is looking at them funny
CelebritiesRe: Apologize To Van Vicker Or Don’t Come To Ghana Movie Directors Warns Tonto Dikeh by Outstrip(f): 10:10pm On Sep 07, 2011
4 pages of people not knowing what they are talking about. megan Fox made comments and we all assume that is why she was let go. Neither Megan Fox or the Studio ever acknowledged that it was the sole reason she was let go. It would be ridiculous to do so. These group of people have come up and said say you are sorry or else. We know that there are powerful people everywhere and Megan Fox made a racially charged statement that maybe he took personally or he was just fed up with all her crap. He never came out publicly and said that girl irritates me so I don't want her cast in the movie. Megan says she wanted to do other things and everybody stayed professional publicly. Two totally different ways. The way it is handled by these movie makers is so childish it is hard to believe that we are talking about adults here

During my free time i teach some kids and i've had parents scream and trade words with me just becos i corrected their kids. I tell them ' if mad men, touts and hookers are doing this' and you let your children do this, claiming urs is in modern fashion, your only training your kids to be madmen, touts and hookers, Sometymes i don't blame violation victims or criminals i blame their parents cause its the seed they planted in their children
If you are actually saying that to parents I am suprised that they have not physically assaulted you and the idea that you do not blame rapists for the rape is a dangerous line of thinking. Even if the person is wearing nothing but a hankerchief no one has the right to touch them.
CelebritiesRe: Apologize To Van Vicker Or Don’t Come To Ghana Movie Directors Warns Tonto Dikeh by Outstrip(f): 1:22pm On Sep 07, 2011
Shouldn't there be a law against this sort of thng by now. You cannot deny someone their right to earn an income because they did not say "sorry sir". KG 2 nonsense. If she wants to be a fool let her be. Honestly the ones looking like fools here are the Ghanaian movie directors. If you are not going to use her then do not use her but to say she must apologize before you will use her in your feature is just bad business sense.

Some children are Devils that no Education or self development can help you manage them.

I know of a child whom is accused of 'witchcraft' because he predict misfortunes for his parents when he is asked of something and not given. It really happens after all. He told his father that he's going to die on his 42nd birthday in other to add his more years to his own age. Tell me how to treat such childrenhuh huh huh huh angry angry
This is child abuse. When you accuse a baby of witchcraft then you are abuser
FamilyRe: Some Parents Dress Their Kids Irresponsibly by Outstrip(f): 7:02am On Sep 07, 2011
It is ridiculous with Nigerian parents. Imagine at a church trip to disney world a 12 year old child wears a 2 piece bathing suit with jewelry on it and parents are thinking that is okay. beyince wears it I guess so why can't their kids do the same. In fact it means that they can afford the finer things in life

When you slap your child around just to make yourself feel better but say you are not sparing the rod then you are an abuser. No different from a wife beater

@Outstip, i dont think its about the house itself. Its about comfort and respect.
Am sure you've heard stories or experienced a conflict between mothers in law and daughters in law. Most times its just some mothers in law trying to teach their daughters in law how to manage their homes in contrast with what the daughters were thought by their own mothers.
Other scenarios apply. There conflicts can be avoided if parents allow their children to sort themselves out. Simply by staying away and interfering only when absolutely necessary.
I get what you are saying. I think we pretty much understand at this point the issues that this particular poster has. What I am referring to is not the poster but people saying that it is strange for parents to visit their children or that the idea of a FIL visiting will be seen as a wrestle of power. MIL visit all the time. We have all heard the horror stories. The idea that the way to solve a problem that has not even happened (because this wrestle of power is obviously in the head of only the person thinking it) is for the man never ever to visit his children in their homes is crazy. It's just the hypoccritical nature of the typical Nigerian. It's because of that mentality that the poor man who was just passing through was slaped in the face for daring to want to come visit his children. God forbid that he gets old and needs care will it be okay for him to come and stay. Will it be better then because he is too old and frail to say he is in charge. Honestly if your father in law comes to the home and you let him run your home it is on you as a man not on him. None of my in laws can come in and run my household and they are welcome to stay anytime they want. It is not because they have not tried it in other homes. They do it because they can. What is it that an in law can do or say that could be so bad if you did not allow it. Eye service is all I have to say. People will rather take the easy way out than do the hard work involved in dealing with in laws. I do not subscribe to family members living with people indefinitely but this was not the case here

I am not ready to go that abusive road with you.

Their is a major difference between an old man and the Father in-law.

In Nigeria here we know regular conflicts between MIL/DIL and SIL/FIL.

In-fact most marriage counselors do advice in-laws to stay away for newly wedded couples to avoid these conflict.
Are we the only people in the world thatget married? Why should it be special. He was not staying. No one would advice in laws to go sit int hehome of newly wedded people. You are talking about a general situation. You cannot say you are making sense when you insist that a man visiting with his family might be perceived as wrestling for "power". The stretch is unreal. You have to have a complex yourself to even think that. Let the man come if he misbehaves then you know how to handle it from then on. I cannot imagine people actually subcribe to the idea that FIL should not visit. As if you throw away your children when they marry. When it suits Nigerians they will either say you marry the whole family or FIL's should not live under the same roof as their children. So which one is it. I know. It is the one that is more backward that will be embraced by Nigerians.

Every family has its peculiarities.

In some families is it shameful for father in-laws to stay under his son in-laws roof.

It creates the impression that both men will be competing for authority.

But the son in-law has authority over his house irrespective of whoever is living with him.

Baba should just stay away and let the young couple live their life.
Please don't take this personally but is this not a backward mentality. Even if Ibring an elderly man off the streets who is dirty and stinky I will expect everybody even my husband to respect him not just as a human being but as an elderly person. What is in a house that people are feeling big about. Is this the way that people who have no achievements in life use to feel big. it is shameful. What is the authority in the home that someone is afraid that their father in law will come in and attempt a military coup. Please it is very unbecoming to talk like that. Maybe we need to start looking at resumes before we marry our sisters out. If someone has nothing in life to be proud about besides the fact that he has married somebody then just let him be. This sort of person will go to work and his boss will tell him to face the wall and he will do it but then come home and become Doctor Barrister President Mr Husband who everybody must know at all times is IN CHARGE.

How can his father force him to quit his job. He failed himself. His father did not fail him. If he did not want to run for office then he shouldn't have. NO is still a word in the english language. he should have simply said no I am not interested in running for office.

It is interestng to see the different replies and so I ran this past my husband beause I wanted his opinion.

He just laughed and said his favourite phrase " awon omo aiye isin yi" grin and went on to say what would have then happend if the baba or mama had just turned up nko? would the husband have chased his parents in law out?

His opinion is that;

1. the husband probably has a complex. Maybe the wifes parents are quite rich and hubby felt that he needed to prove a point hence the I need to be respected comment

or

2. The FIL and the SIL had pre existing problems.
And your husband is exactly right. That is basically it in a few words
