I randomly picked this up to see and it was quite a "heavy watch" emotionally but definitely a good watch. The subject matter was handled fantastically, one of the best piece of tv drama I have seen in a while.

The Heat (2013)

A decent, if unoriginal film about an uptight FBI agent (played by Sandra Bullock) and a belligerent Boston detective (played by Melissa McCarthy) teaming up to take down a drug lord. Carried by comedic timing, the film's pairing of Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy is surprisingly fitting. The two did well together, and made the viewing entertaining.

I will refrain from using any sort of rating system, as I find such systems to be archaic and pointless, but I'll say this, it's an enjoyable watch.

Fairly decent watch...the very movie that made me like Melissa McCarthy's craft.

Quality 480p movies and series please.

First off, if you scale 480p to HEVC x265 encode is basically a blurry mess hence you are most likely to get x264 480p encode.

Secondly, "Quality" and 480p shouldn't be in the same sentence but it's passable if you are watching on a mobile device.
Telegram has quite a good search engine..just search 480p and good results will follow.

There is no limit that these lots "wokeness" won't go.....smh

This special felt like a story telling than Chappelle actually cracking ribs for me.
And being his last special, emotional tone was there all along.

He said in 2017 that "Equanimity" was his last special and yet we got "The Bird revelation", "Sticks and Stones" and "The Closer" after then. Trust me, this is not his last special.

The man lost both his Nephew and Wife in a matter of months. He is in emotional hell at the moment. The last thing he would be thinking about is acting hence he had to leave.

Yeah, I have seen sticks & stones and i thought it was a brilliant piece but it got a lot of negative traction because it touched a lot of "egg shell" topics like LGBTQ and school shootings, and a world were anything you say is offensive to a particular group, it is difficult to tell proper jokes, so i thought he was done after Sticks and Stones, alas Netflix still gave him yet another platform for "The Closer". So simply the only way the "cancel mob" can "cancel" someone is when the person has done or said something truly despicable no matter which norm you confirm to, you can't cancel someone who is immensely talented and is speaking the truth through his or her art. The "cancel mob" tried to cancel Chimanmanda earlier this year cuz on her views on transgenders, didn't work so that tells alot.

I might rate a stand up performance 10/10...But another person might rate it lower...

Comedy's very subjective...I feel it doesn't have a concrete rate basis like movies were you can say plot, cinematography, cast etc...
So to me...I will enjoy a stand up performance and appreciate it..Then leave others to form their view...

As regards Chappelle, Dude's GOATED...

The Closer in particular (also everything he's done for Netflix) =Epic..

Ok now I get you. David Chappelle is one of the very few comedians i like. His craft is top notch and I have basically liked every stand ups i have seen of him dating back to as far as 2003. No i haven't seen the "The Closer" but I have seen the lamentations about it from "certain groups of people", so it's probably very good and obviously touched some nerves.

The pacing of this movie is God-tier and Anthony brought his A game with an adorable and touching performance

Ironically named "Anthony" in the movie too. He was flawless in it and deserved that Oscar and even more...Funny enough the entire main cast was about 4 or 5 and they produced magic.

GOT ended two years ago but still continues to rank amongst top 10 most watch shows on HBOMax.
GOT is the main reason we're seeing LOTR in TV from Amazon if we're being honest.

Wait till the first House of the Dragon prequel show trailer. Then you'll see how much of a phenom and demand it got. People will forget about the finale if the new shows are brilliant.

If GOT doesn't have appeal anymore, TV execs won't be stressing themselves formulating shows that has a GOT appeal and fandom. HBO wouldn't even be planning 4 new shows outta it plus animé adaptation. Or even spending far more money on production per episode for this new prequel show.

Yup..S1 to S5 supremacy ensured it is forever etched in pop culture folklore history,and not even the poorly written S6 and 7 nor the despicable S8 can taint it. One thing that was a proper launch pad for GOT's greatness was that it came out just when the "social media craze" started with a frenzy, i remember Sundays when a new episode was to premier and it looked like a global event on the scale of the FIFA world cup final or the UCL final. I think it is even one of the most pirated tv shows ever, most times it is not even up to 30 minutes a new episode drops and "pirates" were at work to be the first to encode and flood torrent sites with it. I remember one time the first 5 episodes of S5 leaked, and that they felt like the cure to HIV/Aids have been found...mass hysteria...yeah GOT was/is GIGANTIC.

I just like this movie for inexplicable reasons, maybe it's portrayal of old school life.

Anyways , kunle afolayan is easily one of the top 3 producers in Nigeria currently.

Does he really have any competition? He his the only one that seems to know how to make decent movies here.

This is one of those shows where I don't even know how to rate them. On one hand I like it, on the other i'm a bit bored. Points for soundtrack and cinematography.

I think the casting of both leads was perfect, they carried the right tone for the characters they portrayed, it did get boring at one point but it's the risk you take with shows like this. The cinematography as you rightly pointed out was mint especially the "Italy" scene and the Soundtrack was perfect, sombre to fit the mood of the series.

books are my favorite past time , you get to travel to exotic worlds , live countless lives with different experiences, all from the comfort of your couch.

it use to be for me yester years ago, I would literally ask for books from my Father back then as gift during the festive season..Alas life happened and all the time for books was "literally sucked" from me , I hope to find the time and spark again for books. I have an impressive collection of hard copy books saved in mint condition.

I keep telling myself I'd read one per month but na lie. I joined a book club and they eventually kicked me out

Me I thought I would have the time during the lockdown last year alas I had about 2TB of movies and shows to see , I made the same promise of "A book per month in January" , here we are in September with approximately zero book read

At this point I am just waiting on Netflix, HBO and the likes to adapt these books into movies to save me the hassle.

The shelf is always looking pretty, the real problem starts when "you actually have to read the books"...the last book i read was last year

"Ted Lasso" S1 was wholesomely refreshing. One of the best things on TV last year. Deserves all the accolade.

Probably the reason WB was happy to cut ties with Nolan.... ....They be like "Abeg carry your wahala and go".
