Take for example, in Warri there are hardly any significant manufacturing companies such as the ones that can be found in the south east.

If the seaport becomes functional what are the industries that the government should have on ground that will depend on the seaport?

So many goods destined for the South-South and S/East markets like second-hand vehicles, Roofing sheets, pharmaceuticals, electronics and industrial chemicals can be imported via Warri ports.

All ethnic groups within the COR province attended the Willink commission.
The Willink commission report is all over the internet and it noted that Ikwerre, Ekpeye, Ikwo, Ezza,Izzi, though in COR region, were subsets of the Larger Igbo group.

You are still making the same mistake; trying to define a people based on what outside perceive them to be, instead of what the people themselves call themselves.

The ethnic grouping presently being used in Nigeria were created by the British as a mean of classifying the indigenous people. Some groups may accept or reject their inclusion in such ethnic classification.


In this age and time, we don't need to belong to any ethnic group to succeed in any areas of human endeavours.

Ikwerres were not counted as Minorities during Willink commission, but as a subset of Igbo who were in a province containing other minorities.
Since their province like those of Izzi/Ezza/Ikwo who were in Ogoja province then, fell under the COR zone, they had to be present in the commission deliberations likewise Ikwo/Izzi and Ezza people.
It doesn't in any way mean they were considered non Igbos then.

The ethnic groups attended the Willinks Commission as ethnic groups and NOT as provinces.

If the Ikwerres had considered THEMSELVES (not what Igbos , the colonial Masters and other tribes considered them to be) as a subset/ part of one of the three major tribes, they won't be attending meetings meant for the minorities.

Population density actually refers to the degree to which people get crowded in a particular territory, it doesn't refer to the Number of the people. For example, 100 people on one plot of land will be densely populated than 100 people on one acre of land.

The Ikwerres have been saying that they are not Igbo before 1960.
They were strong participants in Calabar-Ogoja-Rivers (COR) Movement in the 1950s that was agitating for the creation of a separate Region for the Minorities in Eastern Region, attended the Willinks Commission to look into the fears of the Minorities in 1959 and the Ogbakwo Ikwerre Conversation of 1963 declared the Ikwerres as a disintinct ethnic group.
All these happened before the politics of oil and the civil war.

They are minor oil companies, not because they are small but because they have lower capital base and proportional share of the market.

The major oil companies aren't one-man businesses but owned by several people (from different tribes), thus have more operation capital, greater capacity to source for funds, better political connections and more sophiscated technical workforce.

There are many petroleum marketing companies that play at different levels of the Oil & Gas sector but the major marketers are usually the Multinational oil companies and publicly qouted Nigerian companies. This is the reason why they have so many petrol stations under their brands e.g Oando, Conoil, MRS (formerly Texaco), AP/ Zenom.

Zenom oil for instance was the importer of Diesel oil into Nigeria during the Jonathan Administration. Under the Buhari Administration, the NNPC is now the sole importer of petroleum products while the oil marketing companies get their supplies from NNPC.



Most of the independent marketers also source their supply from them.

Major Oil marketing companies like Oando, Conoil, Mobil, A.A Rano, Total ,MRS, Zenon oil/AP take the largest shares of the importers because they import petroleum products, gas oil and lubricants etc.
