It depends on the research methodology.

For instance ,if the definition of unemployed is 'self identification' like asking in a questionnaire ' do you consider yourself employed'?

Some (educated) people in I'm State may tick 'unemployed' because they are yet to get their desired jobs in NNPC, Glo, Zenith Bank even though they are currently helping their brothers to sell goods in the Markets with at least #50K allowance per month.

However in rural Borno where most people don't even consider themselves eligible for white collar jobs, they will say they are employed even if they are actually 'mai suya', Keke drivers, Mai Ruwa, Ginger farmers etc.
