There's a world of differences between abuse and criminal defamation of character.

Abusing the President e.g saying Trump is the stupidiest President is a mere 'subjective expression of opinions' which needs not be based on any established fact.

How do you define a stupid person? A stupid action to me may be a brilliant action to you and there is no universally accepted criterion to define what is stupid.

Criminal defamation on the other hand is a deliberate statement of information in a permanent form that are false with the intent to bring a person into disrepute especially in a criminal matter e.g saying Trump shot and killed a security guard or that Osinbajo receive #4 Billion bribe.
Both actions can be verified to determine if they are true or not (no grey areas) and if true attract punishments.

The emergence of the APC in 2013 is very important for at least three reasons;
*Political maturity of our politicians to enter into a political merger.
* The possibility that opposition parties can defeat an incumbent party, a rare feat in African democracies.
* The emergence of two strong political parties which will not make any one of them to take the electorates for granted because of the awareness that a strong alternative is waiting.

If it's part of his destiny to be president, he will become the President and if it's not, he won't.

However, the wheels of progress must continue to roll.

The Fulanis are a powerful political force in Nigeria and will have great impact on the politics of Nigeria. However it's blatant lie that they must always win.

They, like other political forces in Nigeria may win sometimes and may not win other times.

As you also know, any election is a game of numbers. Blocs reach agreements to increase their votes. Abiola period is not like 2023. Abiola came up when the SS and Anambra were willing to support his presidential bid. This time around, I am not sure Tinubu's people have the confidence of the SS or the SE, and I doubt his team has the support of the middle belt, so it will be a steeper mountain to climb this time around.

As things stand now, Tinubu may only be able to rely on SW votes. Anywhere outside the SW is a no-go area for him

OP has made a very good point. With Obasanjo' 8 yrs as President and Yemi's 8yrs as VP, the yorubas have no biz contesting either President, VP, Senate President in 2023. This will be against the ideology of zoning and rotation that favours the Igbos for understandable reasons.

Yorubas is an ethnic group and not a political party. There are different Yorubas I PDP,APC, Labour, SDP.

Ex-Govs Mimiko, Fayose, Gbenga Daniels, Gani Adams, Afenifere etc all worked for the PDP in 2015 such that Jonathan/PDP received about 2 million votes in the S/West while the PDP received about 2.5 million votes in the S/East

The Yorubas in the APC negotiated a better deal for the S/west with the APC.

There were Yorubas, Kanuris, Igbos, Idoma who have committed suicide and there were several other people who have built their own houses, bought cars and improved their economic well being as well.

There were Northern politicians in the PDP but most of the time them had decamped to the APC before the 2015 election.
The remants in the PDP were simply overshadowed by the APC.


Politics is about interests. It's wrong to assume politicians must NOT pursue their own interests but but should have pursued your interests (Jonathan/PDP victory).

Have you bothered to seat down and asked what would have been the interests of Tinubu, Amaechi, Osinbajo, Sylva, Fayemi, Fashola, Gbajabiamila, Saraki,Aregbesola, Oshiomole if Jonathan/PDP had won the 2015 election?

Head or tail, the S/West negotiated and got a better deal with the APC than with the PDP.

No easterner can win any election in Nigeria without federal might & the north. The idea is for pdp to present a northern candidate, knick the next election & have him hand over to a SE person after his tenure using federal might & northern appeal. Makes absolute sense!

If the SE goes against this arrangement, then another part of the south will get the slot after the northerner is done & SE are back to square one.

If PDP fields an SE candidate in the next election, it may end 3rd. Even against a SW Apc candidate, the Pdp wont stand any chance. No serious party will like to lose an election before its conducted.
