Politics › Re: Nigeria's GDP By Sector - Oil Isn't The Major Source Of Our Income by oyatz(m):
You are very Wrong! As at 1965, oil wasn't a source of national revenue and Nigeria wasn't in cave man era you just painted. The importance of oil on it own is over exaggerated.
The human development indices (HDI) of Nigeria ,even with oil money is very low compared to many African Countries with out oil.
Gov't hasn't been getting much money from other sectors but it will be wrong to assume there is NO economic activities going on in other sectors

Beaf:
If oil disappears, Nigeria will simply crumble into the new Somalia.

Yes, people survived for centuries before oil, many by chasing wild animals on foot, fighting with tigers and climbing trees to harvest palmnuts etc. Those were the days when you simply threw away your twins (instead of bothering with extra mouths) and trekked from Lagos to Sokoto to sell crocodiles and salt (as a wealthy business person). It surely was great time with a life expectancy of maybe 25 years.

Nigeria has not grown technologically since those days and oil is our life support system. Take it away, and its back to Tarzan time. grin

Politics › Re: Post-civil War Indigenization Policy And Its Far-reaching Consequences by oyatz(m): 11:25am On Mar 09, 2017
WICKED LIARS like you peddle falsehood to create unnecessary ethnic tension.
1) Awolowo was Minister of Finance(not chairman of MILITARY ruling council or whatever)
in Gowon's military regime between 1967-1971.

2)The indigenization policy have been topics of debate among Nigerian political class since the 1950s and the Action group party introduced it into parliamentary debates in 1961 but the law to back it up started with the indigenization decree of 1972 (after your supposed oppressor, Awolowo left Government) with Alh Sheu Shagari as Federal Commissioner (as ministers were called then).
Major companies were eventually listed on the stock exchange in 1975-1978.
3) Tribal bigots like you tried to paint a picture of Nigeria between 1967-1972 as a medieval absolute monarchy with Awolowo as the King wielding unlimited power to decree anything that catches his fancy.

ACM10:
Just like I remarked in my previous post, I'm unsure if Awolowo had indigenization policy in mind when £20 policy was enforced. Awo woke up after £20 policy to discover that the economic backbone of his rival tribe has been broken. He decided to make a kill by promulgating indigenization policy knowing fully well that it will mostly benefit his kinsmen cos he's well aware that his kinsmen has displaced their rival tribe from the apex of the economic pyramid in the country. He made the time so short so that the easterners will not recover to fully participate in the indigenisation policy. Remember that it's been 12yrs since independence, so why the mad rush to nationalize foreign companies? Why wont a provision be made for the people who are still recovering from the war to participate in the process? Can you see that the policy was "opportunistic"? Though Awolowo may/may not have the policy in mind when he set out to reduce Igbo millionaires to £20 owners, but at the end of the day, he achieved his aim of fatally weakening his rival tribe, then displacing them for good from the upper echelon of the economic pyramid. So he killed two birds with one stone. So his policy can be labelled "subtle opportunistic conspiracy".

Shut up. You have never been to any southeast state. Ebonyi is a london compared to oshogbo and Ekiti.

Enugu and Anambra are competing with the likes of Lagos, Rivers Abuja when it comes to infrastructures and industries.'Ogun state is a death camp.

Osun state is a refuge camp.

Ekiti state is broke, reason why people are cannibalizing each other there.

Oyo is a dead state. third world state likely to be.

Is there any way that the FG has developed Sokoto, Ekite or Kwara States more than Imo,Akwa Ibom, Enugu or Edo States?quire author=Develpeast post=53800557]

You are not saying the truth. Which peace are you looking for in igboland that you cannot find. they have filled every nigerian minds with the fact that igbo land is filled with ritualists and kidnappers. before the advent of cheap internet, the only news you get from igboland in station in lagos is either cultural dance activities in the region or how they caught some dare-devil ritualists or the political instability in the region. They killed the light of the region until recently when igbos start bringing up their own pages on facebook and later websites to showcase to people that beautiful things are actually happening in the region. it was only recently someone said he never knew enugu was beautiful. even my colleague once went to enugu and screamed that the place is lovely and calm.

have you forgotten that before on nta, it is either southwest or northern news that dominated the airwaves?

in the 90's, how many people knew about akwa ibom or bayelsa? if not for internet, these places were in the dark but they were giving nigeria so much money but investors are not going there. apart from oil companies, there is no other economic activity happening in akwa ibom.

I will keep telling people, this country is structured to favour a certain people while the other people are meant to serve.

it will change soon.[/quote]

Politics › Re: How The Name Palestine Came About. by oyatz(m): 2:14pm On Feb 02, 2017
The Philistines no longer exist as a people 600 years prior to Hardrian curse because many of them have been killed in numerous battles with their neighbours and the few remaining population absorbed into Israelite, Edomite and other surrounding ancient Nations that survived long after them.
The present Palestinians have no relationship with the now extinct Philistines... Its pure theft of identity.
dialfa:
But weren't the philistines there before Moses and Joshua massacred them and took over their land?
Politics › Re: Ten Facts That Will Help You Understand Israel-gaza Conflict by oyatz(m): 1:41pm On Feb 02, 2017
Stop misinforming people, there is no Nation in history called Palestine.
Most of the present Palestinians are actually Arabs who migrated to the land of Israel, the remaining Palestinians are descendants of ancient Israelites who were forced to convert to Islam during Rushidum and Ottoman Caliphates rule over the whole of the Middle East.
Palestine was a region during Ottoman Caliphate, the name having been coined by the Romans around 150 AD after they expelled the Jews from their homeland , in an attempt to obliterate the Jews/ Jewish Kingdom for daring to revolt again Roman colonial rule ( read about THE ZEALOTS, Bar-Kokhbar's revolt).
There was no mention of any Palestinian group, revolting against Roman rule in history, because THERE WAS NO PALESTINIANS then!

Politics › Re: What Is The Meaning Of Afonja? by oyatz(m):
Share ,the HQs of Ifelodun LGA in Kwara State is a Nupe townhuh
Why don't you check this on google before displaying crass ignorance.
Bukola Saraki is NOT a Fulani man, he is at best 1/4 Fulani and 3/4 Yoruba but he is free to identity himself as Fulani or whatever he fancied
Its difficult to see a true Fulani in Kwara because of mixed ancestry and CULTURAL assimilation of the smaller Fulani groups by the larger Yoruba groups.
Indeed, there is no State or LGA in Nigeria where the Fulanis are in majority.
You can still find real Fulani peoples in isolated communities in Gombe,Taraba and Adamawa States where because there are surrounded by Christian/animist communities, cultural assimilation fail to develop between them and their neighbours.
If the indigenous peoples of Ilorin had resisted Islamic religion, stick to their paganism or embraced Christianity in the 19th Century, they won't have been such cultural assimilation.
Indeed the main reason why the Fulani Jihadists succeeded wherever they did wasn't because of their bravery, military skills or weapons but because the indigenous peoples already had substantial Muslim population, as a matter of fact no military invasion can succeed in the long run if the local peoples actively resent it.
Why didn't the Fulani jihad succeed in other parts of Yorubaland?( indeed the Fulani Jihadists were soundly defeated by Oluyole led- Ibadan army at the 1840 battle of Osogbo and subsequently chased back to Ilorin).
The Fulanis considered Ibadan army (which by then had acquired European weapons) as their greatest obstacle to their dream of dipping the quaran in the Atlantic Ocean
Its because most Yorubas at that time were traditionalists and not Muslims, only Ilorin had substantial Muslim population( the reasons for this is a topic for another day).
Part of the reasons why Plateau State is a hotbed of ethnoreligious crisis is because that enclave was one of the areas that the Fulani Jihadists failed to conquer because the people didn't embrace Islam ,thus it was difficult for Muslim army to defeat them, let alone establish an Islamic theocracy (emirate) there.
What happened in Ilorin is not very different from what happened in Bida, Katsina or Kano; the emirs are of Fulani ancestry but the indigenous peoples were originally not Fulani but are now mixed due to cultural mixture.

Politics is played by politicians while Tribal sentiments is for the masses.
The real politicians in the SS/SE have come out of the shock one week after the presidential election and immediately started strategizing on how to remain relevant in the corridor of power, you can ask our father, Sen Jim Nwobodo, our aunty Sen Uche Ekwenife, our bros, the founder of TAN, Infanyi Ubah and now our Uncle Sen Ken Nnamani

ogundeleai:
atimes I wonder whose interest those saying SS and SE cannot vote for APC or Propagander. are protecting. . As at today the same party have produced senetors in the 2 region either by winning in election contest or decamped. ..
The earlier those youth realises that politics transcend tribal sentiment the better. .
presidential election had been conducted and won in 2005 and by now those still yet to come out of the shock are doing themselves no favour.
