Niger Deltans have severally warn you against including them in your proposed Biafra.

McTobe:
The big powers knows only their interest only and nothing more. like I argued before only if they see what they will benefit more from Biafra that their relationship with Nigeria have not offered them. For me China can easily support Biafra and the same goes for Russia with their new posture in international affairs. Saudi Arabia is under US manipulation and they will do US bidding but I don't know yet how US and their allies can forgo their interest in Nigeria. If the Niger Deltans(SS) willingly come into Biafra as I know that there is a likelihood, then Biafra must convince these big MNC oil companies to convince their home countries to support the Biafra course that their interest will be highly protected under the Biafra state and even woe them to establish a military base in Biafra and of course secret deals will be signed. without taking care of these big power interests the achievement of Biafra will remain a mirage

What a tribaliat's jaundiced view.
There are a lot of well educated and professional Igbos

pisces20:
Well it's because
1)They are scared: U know igbo's like money too much so they are afraid that
they will embezzle their money or siphone it into thier own account.

2)Most igbo's are illiterates: They prefer to own their own business and be the oga instead of collecting salary, so they either drop out of secondary school or start learning a trade after secondary school.

hope your question has been answered  grin
My sincere apology to the igbo folks  wink

I strongly believe in return to true fiscal federalism but this doesn't mean these States will or not better than Lagos .
Change is part of nature. In 1966, Singore and Dubai weren't as developed as Lagos.

Deadlytruth:
Only a return to fiscal federalism/resource control will guarantee the decongestion of Lagos and Abuja as these two cities were not as developed as any of the regional capitals before Ironsi came with his wicked and self-serving Unification Decree.
Culture › Re: 7 Important Facts To Know About Eze Nri Of The Igbos. by oyatz(m): 8:27pm On Mar 22, 2017
Thanks bro for responding with equanimity.
1) When P/Harcourt fell, igbos fled but not every humanbeings fled. Ikwerre, Ijaws and other peoples stayed.
2) When Onitsha,Enugu, Awka and Aba fell, all the igbos didn't run away. where will they run to?
3) If igbos ran away from 'their own' towns, were their properties also confiscated and also declared abandoned properties 'in their own towns'
4) Do you have villages named for Igbo descendants in a place igbos are aboriginal, just as we have Sabongari for Hausa people in most southern states? Why having a village for igbo descendants in the heart of Ikwerre land if Ikwerre and igbos are one and the same peoples?

bigfrancis21:
Igbos fleeing PH doesn't make sense whatsoever. Everybody in Igboland has a village that they return to. Someone living in Enugu could return to his village in Abia state. It doesn't mean Enugu isn't Igboland. Moreover, fleeing during the war was a survival tactic. When Nsukka initially fell (one of the first towns to fall), people living there fled further inside to the interior to avoid being killed. When a town fell to Nigerian soldiers, people living there fled to a safer uncaptured place. When port-harcourt fell, it was only normal that every Igbo living there, including indigenes and those who were not from portharcourt to flee to another area to avoid being killed. My paternal grandmother from Anambra told me stories of fleeing with her 9 children from Anambra even all the way down to Umuahia in present day Abia state. Ikwerres would have fled PH too for safety like other Igbos if not for the fact that they switched sides to the Nigerian side when the soldiers arrived and disclaimed being Igbo which saved most of them from being wiped out. Instead they helped the Nigerian soldiers to fish out Biafran soldiers in hiding to be killed.

In conclusion, fleeing an area is not a valid argument. If Nigeria were to get into war with, say, France and France drops a bomb in Isiokpo or Ombodo in Ikwerre land, the villagers (ikwerres) and everybody there will flee to other areas for safety. And return after the war is over. It's war survival tactic.
Culture › Re: 7 Important Facts To Know About Eze Nri Of The Igbos. by oyatz(m): 5:21pm On Mar 22, 2017
Does it not show that the fact that you have a village in Ikwerre land named 'Igbo descendants' point to the fact that Igbos are external elements in Ikwerre land?
Can you have a village of Yoruba descendants in Ibadan land or Nupe descendants in Bida or Igbo descendants in Awka?
Why did the Igbos have to flee P/Harcourt during the c/war and their properties declared abandoned properties if igbos are truly native to Port Harcourt (an Ikwerre land)? Can you have Igbo abandoned properties in Enugu, Aba or Nnewi?

bigfrancis21:
Even many of Ikwerre elders know this all too well, especially those born before the civil war. Till today, some Ikwerre elders would meet an Arochukwu man specifically and call him 'wene m', in reference to their ancestral ties. The Ikwerres elders do not do this to other Igbo groups, only to the Aros. Then you have village names in Ikwerre land such as 'umuigbo' (Igbo descendants) and yet they claim they are not Igbo. Even the pronunciation of the name has been changed to something else to disguise its meaning. Go to PH and observe how the Ikwerres have twisted the pronunciation of that name to 'rumuigboo' with a rising inflection.
Culture › Re: 7 Important Facts To Know About Eze Nri Of The Igbos. by oyatz(m): 4:40pm On Mar 22, 2017
Most Igbo irredentists try to portray that Ikwerre people originated from Igbo. It may be true but may be not the whole truth.
Some Igbos may also originated from Ikwerre land.

Its clear to you now that Igbos have a lot in common with Ikwerre. I was at Ogbakiri, echichi emoh precisely, (please pardon my spelling if it is wrong) late last year for a burial, and I was amazed when I saw the Oboni cult on display. I was thinking Oboni is peculiar to Igbos alone. Though its funny, when one of the guys explained to me that the culture was exported to Igboland from Ikwerreland.

EmoBoy:
1. You Nigerians complain and agree that the country is not united but are opposed to people who are agitating to form a country free from these problems
2. Like Sweetguy25 said in his thread, Yoruba and hausa are the only two tribes enjoying this scam called Nigeria. Igbos and their sisters in the Nigerian Delta don't gain anything by being Nigerians. The only reason Yoruba are happy being Nigerians is because the development of Nigeria is taking place in their region.
3. Nigeria does Not love the Igbos and Niger Deltans. Please remove that statement from. The Riverine environment of the Niger Delta has been destroyed from oil activities that bankrolls the country. Yoruba and Hausa don't care.

The earlier ones aren't igbos in the sense we now know it to be.
The present Igbo ethnic group evolved few centuries ago from peoples(Proto-Igbos) have lived for thousands of years aroun the southern part of Nigeria.
They appeared to have origins from Eri/Igala, Bini, Ibibio and aboriginal peoples.

This is one of the reasons Ikwerre, Ogba,Etche and Ekpeye find it difficult to accept being igbo.

ChinenyeN:
Most importantly, it would seem that the actual traditions of various communities were either misinterpreted, misrepresented, or blatantly ignored as 'Igbo historians' endeavored to reconstruct precolonial settlement history, in line with such misconclusions. A number of southern Igbo communities felt this misrepresentation, when classified as brances of Isuama, irrespective of the fact that their traditions recognize the Isu (whom they call Isoma) as a separate people with which they share no affiliation.

Politics › Re: Balogun-Fulani And Adekanye After Regaining Freedom (Photo) by oyatz(m): 1:21pm On Mar 20, 2017
The surname is from a title in Ilorin with historical root.
1) The emirate in Ilorin like else where started as MUSLIM uprising, aimed at toppling the authority and established a religious government (emirate).
2) after the success of the revolution, it became obvious, only a section of the revolutionaries are occupying important positions in the newly established Islamic government and nearly all of them come from the same tribe-the Fulani.
3) towards the end of the 19th century, there was growing resentment towards the Fulani dominated emirate led by the indigenous Yoruba , the Nupe and peoples of mixed ancestry such that the palace of the emir was burnt and the emir committed suicide in 1895.
4) to regain the support and loyalty of every group, regardless of their ethnic background, a power sharing approach was adopted such that certain positions in the emirate (which has become multi-ethnic) were given to peoples from different ethnic backgrounds ,a kind of 'federal character'.
5) As a result, the Yorubas, because there are in majority were given two baloguns(military commanders)- Balogun Ajikobi and Balogun Alanamu, the people of mixed ancestry had their own Balogun- Balogun Gambari and the Fulani had one Balogun- Balogun Fulani.

#Note: cultural assimilation occurred in Ilorin such that the minority groups lost their languages and adopted the language of the majority ,thus Yoruba became the lingual franca of Ilorin, as a result the title of Balogun persist. Even the title of emir was introduced by the British at the advent of colonial rule and its only use by the educated people in official circles, beside that, everyone call their king in their local tongue, thus emir is called OBA in Ilorin, Sarkin in Kano, Katsina and Etsu in Bida.

People like you fail to understand one basic fact; ethnicity is very dynamic and most things in life do change.
2000 years ago, there were no people called English, Igbo, Russian, Hausa or Yoruba peoples and in a century time, Igbo, Ika, Igala and some other groups might have become one ethnic group.
The most important thing is SELF IDENTIFICATION
Nobody can force you to be who you don't want to be.

Don't mind agbotaen, arguing with him is not advisable for your health, else be ready to read repetitive prose he has been posting on every site.

No Igbo tribe/group speak 100% central Igbo, but fortunately, I grew up where central Igbo is spoken so I can communicate with everyone. As far as I am concerned, any tribe that speak 70% or more is Igbo. Izzi group speak 70 - 80% Igbo, yet they are Igbos. Igbo was never homogenous (and not all were descendants of Eri) and apart from western Igbos that had influences from Bini, it was only the Aro group that had a King (I may be wrong).

One is entitled to call oneself anything but can't force the world to change how ethnicity or ethnic groups are classified - the world won't deviate from the norms just because of you.

Even Ika neighbours, Bini, call them Igbo. They belong to Anioma which invariably a member of Ohaneze.

So agbotaen, you can go on and on, call yourself anything, but no rational man would deviate from what ethnicity is. So you'll always be called Igbo or to respect your special identity, Ika-Igbo, never Ika-Bini nor just Ika because Ika can never be classified as an ethnic group.

Within yourselves, you can call yourself Ika just like Aros, Ngwas, Nsukas, Izzis etc do. No difference.

Politics › Re: Why Is Abuja The Capital Of Nigeria by oyatz(m): 1:04pm On Mar 19, 2017
Stop misinforming people on this forum.
1) The debate about the suitability of Lagos as the Federal Capital started shortly after independence. Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe around 1963 had suggested that the Federal capital be moved to a location in the middle of Nigeria because it will be almost equidistant from parts of the country and even suggested Kafachan. Several other States men contributed to the debate with the names of several towns around the middle belt.
2)In 1975 ,Gen Murtalar Muhammed inaugurated the Justice Akinola Aguda panel to look for a suitable location for the new federal capital and this panel recommended the sparsely populated town of Abuja and swathes of land carved out from surrounding States like Niger and Benue-Plateau States.
3)Legend have it that both Abuja and Suleja were founded by brothers, Abu and Sule .Both were reluctant vassal States of the emir of Zazzau in the 19th century.Their locations or names were never swapped.

DRANOEL:
@cashmentor
it wasnt just northners that suggest the moving of the capital to abuja, infact the aguda headed 6man panel had only one northner!

the idea then was to look for a place more suitable to all nigerians and to correct the mistakes of lagos, also security of the location from external attacks was considered! among the places considered were lokoja, makurdi, jos, keffi! but these places already had established towns/cities and as such were ruled out!
the place we now call abuja was actually suleja but the name was changed and abuja became suleja and vice versa

Was Ogbakor Ikwerre convention of 1963 which defined Ikwerre as a unique and ethnic group forced to do so by Nigeria and was this after the civil war?
Why did the Ikwerres participated as a minority ethnic group and submitted petition to Willink commission of 1958 set up by the colonial government to look into the fears and agitation of the minority ethnic groups?

Armaggedon:
u get my point now. Those you refer to as igbo within the south east also have their individual subgroups like the ones you mentioned. Before the white men came , communities found it comfortable to identify as communities not as igbos, despite their shared attributes b'cos there were no external threats. Igbo nationalism grew in 40s and 50s because of the need to unite and protect igbo interest in the new nigeria. Hence igbo groups ( like ika, kwale, aniocha etc) accross the Niger became known as western igbos. It was after the civil war that Nigeria , in a bid to weaken igbos brought some igbo groups together in their phanthom SE and placed some(like ikwerre and etche) in the so called SS, using their sub group names as an ethnic name.

Really Nigeria is a fraud
