nairavsdollars: Prince Tony Momoh, a former Minister of Information on Thursday said despite former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s opposition, he will be unable to stop President Muhammadu Buhari from winning the 2019 presidential election.
Speaking in an interview with Daily Independent, Momoh, one of the national leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Nigerians, especially Northerners will not listen to Obasanjo if he asks them to vote for any particular candidate during the election.
Going doing memory lane, he said Obasanjo attempted rigging the 2003 governorship election in Kano state in favour of Rabiu Kwankwaso but he was resisted by Buhari who was backing Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau.
“When Obasanjo was president during the 2003 presidential election, we got 12 million votes. Obasanjo wanted results declared for Rabiu Kwankwaso in 2003, but Buhari supported Shekarau. Up till 3am, there was fight. The Commissioner of Police said ‘Look, we cannot declare this result because they will burn this house’. They have to declare result for the winner, Shekarau”.
“As President, the whole country was Obasanjo’s constituency, he won but he couldn’t win his own ward in the South-West”.
“So, Obasanjo is a credible fighter but he cannot stop Buhari. He himself knows that clearly. The only person who can stop Buhari is the person who has the votes. Which votes will Obasanjo deliver against Buhari in the North or South-West? Does he have the votes even in his own Egbaland to move against Buhari?”
“ Obasanjo is now supporting ADC. Let us see how ADC will go far in the election because that will be the decider for Obasanjo. Because of Obasanjo’s influence, ADC should be able to take over from APC and PDP and become the ruling party in Nigeria”.
“ Very soon, we will know whether Obasanjo is in charge of Nigeria or he is just an actor who has been lucky following where the wind blows” he said.

Mr. Olawepo-Hashim in Abuja declares on Wednesday that security of Nigerians abroad will be part of his topmost priority if elected to lead Nigeria in 2019. Olawepo-Hashim, a businessman, pan-Africanist and a two-time winner of Kwame Nkrumah Leadership award is running for Nigeria President under the banner of ANN said: “there would be a consequence for anyone that takes a life of a Nigerian.”
Olawepo-Hashim directs his message to some countries where there have been reported cases of xenophobic attacks on Nigerians. He issues a stern warning that any life of Nigerian unjustifiably taken in any part of the world will attract proportionate consequences. “I will put an end to where Nigerian shops would be attacked in some countries, where the life of Nigeria would be taken for fun because they think there would be no consequences” he stated.
Meanwhile, Nigerians have been subjected to indignities in obvious hate in countries like India and South Africa. It is a national disgrace that the Nigerian government has not adequately reacted to these confirmed widespread reports about the organized acts of attacks carried out on innocent Nigerians abroad. The Foreign Affairs Ministry has not done enough to speak and protect affected Nigerians.
Abdulazeez99: A man identified as Julius was almost beaten to death by the mob after he was caught trying to have sex with the lady she went to rob at her home in Delta state.
According to reports, the lady who left her door opened was sleeping when the thief entered her room to steal her phone narrated that in her sleep, she felt it that someone is romancing her, which makes her to wake up from her sleep while she started shouting thief.
It was learnt that as the thief ran out of her room and was about to escape through Azigbo lane, he was caught and beaten by mobs who ran after him after the lady shout for help.
It was gathered that the victim (who wore red singlet) in the attached picture was sick and slept off after taking the drugs that were prescribed for her by a doctor but was unfortunate to being woken up due to the romance by the thief who tried to steal her phone.
Some people on Facebook who claim to know the said thief are saying he is mentally unstable, this claim is yet to be verified.

metroparrot: President Muhammadu Buhari has asked Ibrahim Idris, inspector-general of police, not to invite Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun state, before Saturday.
The police had asked Adeleke to immediately appear at the force headquarters in Abuja over alleged examination malpractice.
But a presidential source told reporters on Wednesday that Buhari had ordered the IGP not to go ahead with the invitation until the governorship election is over.
Adeleke is one of the four strong contenders in Saturday’s exercise.
Earlier, Jimoh Moshood, force public relations officer, said Adeleke would be charged to court over examination malpractice, criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and breach of duty.
Moshood said Adeleke connived with four persons identified as Sikiru Adeleke, Aregbesola Mufutau (principal of Ojo-Aro Community Grammar School, Egbedore LGA, Osun), Gbadamosi Thomas Ojo (school official responsible for the registration of candidates for NECO), and Dare Olutope (school teacher who facilitated the crime).
He had asked them to report to the special investigation panel at the force headquarters in Abuja.
Giftedhand92: The presence of security operatives was increased at the Osun State Judiciary Complex where the alleged blackmailers of Osun lawmaker, Mr Timothy Owoeye, are appearing before a magistrates’ court.
The accused persons were brought into the court premises amidst the heavy presence of armed prison officers and policemen. Security personnel had a hectic time controlling hundreds of supporters of the lawmaker, who trooped to the court in solidarity with him.
The lawmaker, who is the Majority Leader of Osun State House of Assembly is also in court but the Magistrate, Olusegun Ayilara, has not entered into the court due to the rowdy situation. Policemen and prisons guards locked the gates into the complex where the courtroom is located but supporters forced their way into the complex but were stopped from entering the courtroom.
Our correspondent gathered from a court official that a man suspected to be sympathetic to the accused persons was stripped naked and injured by some of the lawmaker’s supporters. The supporters were also angry that the accused persons were allowed to cover their faces while they were marched into the courtroom by armed prison officers.
It will be recalled that Owoeye’s n*de video went viral on Saturday. He was said to have been tricked and swindled by the blackmailers. The Nude video was said to be recorded to prevent him from reporting the fraud to the police.

Nigerian students have record of fighting the course of justice when necessary, but should not be used as political knight in a bad era. Lets leave them out of this. By Gods grace our students will graduate and come out to put this country right. Politicians are full of deceptions. When they eat meat they overlook the shred inbetween the teeth, but when they drink water they are looking for toothpick to pluck what seems negligible. There are millions of fake documents poccessed by Nigerians, ranging from driver licence, certificates, employment letters. As a matter of fact there is fake to any original thing is this country. The door opens in both ways in this place. The crux of the matter here is that someone who served with a falsified NYSC and did so well is better off some who carried the original NYSC but loot our treasury to oversea, thus jeopardize the economy and our finances. Attitude of those Nigerians who stole millions upon billions from government treasury and walked away free, yet taking queue at the corridor of power should provoke any citizen in this country and they are the forseeable threat to the future of nigerian students. They are the ones we can refer to as the lions in the safari, while kemi Adeosun is one of the vulnerable antelopes around. As a moralist I am not condoning bad behavior, but let us be grateful to the lady who has served in the most sensitive ministry, yet she did not soil her hand in bribery and corruption. She did not loot our money to Britain, switzerland or America despite her dual citizenship. Let us be citizens of a grateful nation and wish her well in her future career here or in abroad. Nigerians should be wise now and don't let us be distracted by picking our fight in the wrong course while some crook politicians and obsessed looters are busy doing their home work to come back to power. dainformant: A 40-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping underage girls in Katsina state. According to reports, the suspect was arrested following a complaint which was lodged at a police station for allegedly defiling girls as young as seven to eight years.
The suspect is being detained at the Katsina Central Police Station (C.P.S) and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
This is coming two months after a 30-year-old man from Katsina who defiled his six-year-old daughter in his house - was arrested by the police. Bashiru Audu’s arrest came after neighbours observed that the victim was walking awkwardly.
It was gathered that upon interrogation, they were informed by the girl that her father “put something in her private part.”
The Katsina man on July 16, sneaked into the children’s room and had sex with his daughter, while his wife was away to their home town, Daura, Katsina State.
According to Audu, his wife travels a lot and he had to sleep with his daughter when the urge to have sex became very strong.

You are very right with your point. The crux of the matter is that we have lots of other politicians holding offices who are guilty of more serious scandals and yet they are still taking a stand. Kemi Adeosun's case was exceptionally taken up amidst those more serious ones. Yes! this will be a lesson to others who might be conspiring similar offence in future.

Lizzysamuel: A Nigerian man who featured in the National Crime Agency’s top 10 most wanted alleged fraudsters campaign appeared in court today accused of a £12 million scam involving public bodies.
Bayo Awonorin, 44, was originally arrested in 2012 as part of an investigation into alleged money laundering involving public bodies, including Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, but he later fled the country while on bail, Lincolnshire Police said.
He was arrested in Maryland, US, and was successfully extradited after being charged with conspiracy to defraud and conspiracy to launder money. The Lincolnshire force said he has been a wanted man since 2013 in connection with the investigation called Operation Tarlac. He was traced by Lincolnshire officers from the Economic Crime Unit to the US and through close collaboration with both the UK and US authorities, the force added.
Awonorin appeared in the dock at Lincoln Magistrates Court today. Wearing a white t-shirt, Awonorin spoke to confirm his name and to give his date of birth. He also confirmed his nationality as Nigerian and told the court he was of no fixed address. The court clerk confirmed that Awonorin faces two charges of conspiring with others to defraud public institutions and to convert criminal property.
Both offences are alleged to have occurred between January 1, 2011 and July 31, 2012. There was no bail application or indication of plea from Awonorin. He was remanded into custody and will next appear at Lincoln Crown Court on October 15. Awonorin, previously from Bexley, London, had been the subject of a BBC Crimewatch appeal and the National Crime Agency’s 10 most wanted alleged fraudster’s campaign in 2016.

Since the news of her resignation broke, Nigerians have stormed his facebook page to pour venom on him over his stance for the finance minister even when it was clear that there was forgery. This is what he wrote that kept people talking : I DO NOT WANT KEMI ADEOSUN TO RESIGN BECAUSE OF A MERE NYSC CERTIFICATE. If Madam kemi Adeosun could resign because of NYSC certificate, likes of Dr Bukola Saraki should also resign amidst of cases of corruptions alleged against him in this administration. Diaspora are assett to the development of the nation, and we must appreciate them and encourage them to serve in this country. We must not reserve our political blackjack to chastise those group of citizens who are genuine and willing to serve the nation with a sincere attitude.
