The Junior Secondary School (JSS) Certificate Examination should be scrapped. It is a waste of time and resources. I am yet to see any advertised job in which the JSS certificate qualification is acceptable. |
If the "victim" was caught in the act, the accused may plead "temporary insanity". |
Asking for the full meaning of an abbreviation is not a standard test question. An abbreviation could have several meanings or may mean nothing at all to some people. When an abbreviation is spoken or written, it is for the speaker or writer to mention the full meaning if necessary; the listener or reader does not need to give any explanation. |
N8.9 billion for 7.25 km of road, that is N1.2 billion per km - is the cost right? |
This is torture. |
It appears as if the current FIFA president is more interested in quantity than quality. |
Can a magistrates' court give a fourteen year jail sentence? |
It may not be an exact replica, but I'll give the tailor a pass mark. |
MediaNGN:I don't understand how the jury came up with such a verdict. It is not the duty of the accused to reveal evidence against himself. He has the right to remain silent. |
EastGold:It appears EFCC only serves two interests: - The presidency. (Who is the presidency?) - Foreign interests, particularly the United States. If a person's activities do not go against the presidency, or against foreigners (US citizens in particular), EFCC will 'see no evil and hear no evil'. |
He has been banned for life, and he has been fined. If he refuses to pay the fine, what will FIFA do? |
The card reader has failed to authenticate several registered voters today. Fingerprints don't (usually) change, so the problem may be with the card reader, and not with the registered voter. |
Dr Francis Abioye's zeal to protect certain animals is commendable, but should be backed up with positive action, not just threats of arrests. If a python is seen in a public area or private compound, can the zoo task force be called to take away the reptile? Will the zoo task force respond promptly, and without charge? Is there any written list of protected animals in Nigeria? I would like to see it. |
These types of threads should not be on the front page. ![]() We should not celebrate the killing of harmless wildlife creatures. |

Has the taxi driver been released? |
Where do people even get candles from these days? Candles are not as commonly available in the market as before. |
illitrate:Sintayehu Legese has never won the Dubai marathon; in fact, he has never even been among the top ten. However, even if he had won other marathons, I wouldn't consider that as greed. It is simply his way of earning an income. |
Nasman387:In the first place, he is probably not 22. Perhaps he was 22 in 2014 when he was first arrested, which would make him 27 today. Some may desire that he should be killed at once, but from the narrative, the only offence he may be charged for is possession of firearms (the second time). There is no evidence that he has killed anybody, neither has he been caught during any armed robbery operation. He may decide to withdraw his confessions. If he is charged and convicted, the first and second prison sentences may run concurrently. |
Lhimeet:As the South American football association (Conmebol) only has ten members, additional invitees are required to create a workable tournament structure. Initially, six extra teams - three from North America and three from Asia - were set to be invited in order to create a 16-team tournament, as was the case for the 2016 competition in the United States. But instead, in May 2018, Conmebol decided the tournament should follow the structure of all other competitions since 1993 and have 12 teams, with Qatar and Japan invited. I do not understand why Customs seizes tramadol, when it is not an illegal drug. Just because a drug is alleged to be abused by some people does not mean that the drug is not useful when taken appropriately. |
This is like trying to kill a fly with a sledge hammer. |
Nonsooke:What can those who do not support the rule do? - Challenge the rule in court on the grounds that it is discriminatory. (This may be a tough option, for the university authorities may decide to victimize students who resort to such a bold action.) - Refuse to be a member, or participate in any association in the university. If certain students cannot hold any elective position, they may as well not pay dues to any association in the school. |
When the industrial action eventually ends, will the lecturers (state and federal) be paid for the period of the strike? |
What is their offence? How exactly have they been terrorizing the community? |
joseph6071:The school authorities have already made their decision. Being sober will not reverse the suspension. |
GNLD itself is not bad. What is wrong is the deceit that network marketers use to get downlines. If they want to encourage other people to become network marketers, they should let people know that they are going to be introduced to network marketing or GNLD before the "interview". It is quite disheartening to advertise a regular job and ask the applicant to travel from Ibadan to Lagos for an interview, when the so-called interview is a lecture about GNLD. |
Making health insurance compulsory is like asking everybody (whether earning an income or not) to pay tax simply because they exist. |
EFCC is doing all it can to serve foreign interests in general, and the United States interests in particular. It's almost as if the United States pays EFCC and tells them what to do. |
The word "idiot" does not appear in the report itself. |
What about those who 'specialize' in defrauding fellow Nigerians? EFCC has no interest there! It is obvious that EFCC is serving foreign interests. |
Sometimes, I wonder if the United States or the United Kingdom law enforcement agencies ever arraign their citizens for crime against Nigerians (resident in Nigeria). |
