CrimeRe: Father Paid Ransom To Kidnappers With Bitcoin In Abuja, Her Daughter Released by panpan(m): 9:35am On Sep 17, 2019
Kelvin30286063:
Now that's the real deal. Let me see how EFCC will trace that one now. grin
EFCC may not have any interest here. Since it is a case of kidnapping, they would say it is for the police to handle.

Besides, EFCC appears to be more interested in financial crime that affects foreigners, than financial crime that affects Nigerians.
CrimeRe: Lady Blasts Randle Hospital Nurse Who Refused To Attend To Her Ailing Daughter by panpan(m):
I couldn't pick out what the persons in the video were saying.

The only thing that is clear is that there is some kind of argument or quarrel.

What day and time did the mother bring her daughter to the hospital?

Some government hospitals may only attend to emergency cases outside routine hours. Routine hours for children may be from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday (or Monday to Saturday).

Perhaps there was a queue, and the mother did not want to wait any longer. There may have been other children who were in critical condition, but the mother wanted attention for her daughter which may have been a mild case.

If the daughter's condition was critical, the mother would not complain that her daughter has "typhoid" and produce a lab result to back up her claim.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Police Recruitment: ‘candidates Don’t Know Names Of Nigeria President, CJN’ by panpan(m): 10:54pm On Sep 13, 2019
Not knowing the name of the chief justice of Nigeria may be excusable, but not knowing the name of the president may indicate that the candidate is either uneducated or is a foreigner.

Also, do not let other drivers pressure you into entering the box when a clear exit is not available.
Good advice. However, some drivers would even pressure you to move onto a railway line when a clear exit is not available.

CrimeRe: Return £7.3m Or Face 10 Years In Jail, Court Tells Ex-banker, Who Helped Ibori by panpan(m): 7:39pm On Sep 04, 2019
He has already served four and a half years in jail, yet the court is threatening him with ten more years for the same offence unless he pays £7.3m.

Assuming he decides to pay, who will get the money? The court, the British government or the Nigerian government.

It may be better for him to refuse to pay and risk the jail term; at least, he can appeal the judgment.

PoliticsRe: Hijirah: Osun Governor Oyetola Declares Public Holiday To Mark New Islamic Year by panpan(m): 11:39am On Aug 30, 2019
We should consider the economy of the state or country before declaring extra public holidays.

At present, the number of public holidays in the country (13 or 14 each year) are too many.

Osun, by its declarations, has increased the number of public holidays in the state to 15 or 16.

Some days may just be observed but should still remain normal working days.

CrimeRe: Nigerian Soldiers Intercept ‘strange’ Military Equipment In Adamawa (photos) by panpan(m): 10:51am On Aug 25, 2019
decrownprince:
The Nigeria Army is not the real owner. I was among those that arrested it. Is in Maiha LGA of Adamawa State that the arrest was made and not in Fufore LGA. And it was arrested more than 3weeks. All those while we tried to confirm the real owner, but couldn't that why it was handed over to the Custom
The military equipment was being transported by human beings when it was intercepted. Did the equipment not originate from somewhere? Was there no destination for the equipment?

decrownprince:
It was not purchased by the military or State government. It was purchased by another Africa Country. And we waited for them to laid claim to it.
Which African country?

Ekweremadu was betrayed by his own people...what a shame. They invited him and when he got there, they stabbed him in the back. Disgusting.
It wasn't really a betrayal.

Ndi-Igbo Germany (not IPOB) invited Ekweremadu. Some IPOB members in Germany got to know that he was coming; they went to the venue and attacked him when he arrived at that place.

The report did not say which day the Nigerian High Commission was closed.

If the Nigerian High Commission was closed during the public holidays in Nigeria, then it is in order. The embassies and high commissions of other countries do the same. However, there should have been a notice on the front door stating this. In addition, any appointment on those days should have been postponed or cancelled in advance.
