Properties / Re: 10 Most Powerful Buildings In Nigeria by patostation(m): 4:35am On Aug 25, 2014
Davijunson: Wait lemme get this straight.... How is a building said to be powerful?
Is it by the structural design of it?
Or by the amount spent in building?
Or the function it is used for?
Or perhaps d people dat inhabits it.
I really don't know the basis of classifying these buildings as Powerful buh wah i know is some buildings shouldn't be on that list...BTW, why are most of the buildings located in Abj?

God bless you jare! There should be a distinctive yardstick for calling certain buildings powerful. If it is by size, certainly some buildings in Lagos or elsewhere would have made the list.

Look out: perhaps there may be someone who will carry you off as his prey through the philosophy and empty deception according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ (Colossians 2:8. Compare Act 17:18, 1Cor 2:13).

For he himself (God) well knows the formation of us, remembering that we are dust. As for mortal man, his days are like those of green grass; like a blossom of the field is the way he blossoms forth. For a mere wind has to pass over it, and it no more.... (Psalm 103:14-16).

In themselves the days of our years are seventy years; and if because of special favor they are eighty years, yet their insistence is on trouble and hurtful things; for it must quickly pass by, and away we fly. (God please) show us just how to count our days in such a way that we may bring a heart of wisdom in (Psalm 90:10,12).

True, birth certificates can be forged but it is not true that everyone forged theirs. Most certificate forgers in the forum cannot come to terms with the idea that someone may not have forged like them.

I believe the Bible to be the work of man that has been corrupted many hundreds of times over the years to fit in with the ideology of the times. Many of you choose to read and take all the Bibles writings as being true and accurate without question. I am more open minded and willing to question the facts.

I do not want to attack anybody, but below are a list of contradictions in the Holy Bible and I would be interested in hearing from people and how such mistakes and errors can be possible in the book of God?

1. Who incited David to count the fighting men of Israel?

* God did (2 Samuel 24: 1)
* Satan did (I Chronicles 2 1:1)

6. How old was Jehoiachin when he became king of Jerusalem?

* Eighteen (2 Kings 24:
* Eight (2 Chronicles 36:9)

I have not gone through all you mentioned. But I have checked No. 6 and it is false. Both scriptures say 18 years. If you compare No. 1 in different translations, you will notice that both are saying the same thing. The NWT says at 2Sam 24:1 "The anger of God blazed against Israel when 'one' incited David..." 1Chr now calls that 'one' by name Satan

But where discrepancies exist, they can only be explained the way you expain typographic errors today. Think about this: if your boss asks you to write 200 and you thought you heard 300, your boss will not be blamed.

Also a prince may be too young to mount the throne when his father died can be reported by one writer as having started his reign at say 4 years of age while another writer may include more information to the effect that the prince started ruling via a regent. Both information will be correct.

I am unable to get a firm grasp of what you scribbled down bros, I am a guy of few words, if you believe in a mere man like you than believe in God then so be it..Nobody forces you to believe, it is your own cup of tea but time will definitely tell who owns your life .. I am sure you you have never ask yourself "All these scientists who came up with one or few theories, where are they now? Were they able to help themselves by making themselves immortal? Nope, What did The bible say about the wages if sin? death which is appointed for all human at a given time? Every thing has time..Day/Night/Heaven/Earth/ everything God made is perfectly synchronised - Am sure you still wanna disbelieve that right?

I hope you don't deny yourself one day...

You need to read what I said properly, you kind of failed to see that I was responding to someone who asked me whether I will wait for God to come down from heaven to teach me child upbringing etc.

It appears you believe in God just as I do. Read my earlier posts.

Literally, if I get you well, On your mind, you expect The Almighty God to come down and sit your butt down to teach you how to rear a child or how employers should treat employees?

As an 'educated' person, I believe you used a sort of book to learn: how to be a lawyer, how to be a doctor, how to be an engineer etc. If you were able to get your "knowlege" from what the authors wrote without meeting those authors physically, I expect you to use your intellect similarly regarding whatthe Bible teaches on child upbringing, business, relationship with others. If you want me to spell it out, YOU CAN READ GOD'S BOOK WITHOUT GOD COMING DOWN TO SEE YOU IN YOUR HOUSE.

The bible can not accurately tell future. The bible and other "holy books" are scripts that are been followed thereby making it seem like its predicting the future.

There is no god

The Bible itself says something interesting about those who say God does not exist (Ps 14 and 53) Ro 1:20 says that after seeing all of God's creations including yourself, that you have no excuse not to believe in him. Heb 3:4 concludes that if someone built the house you live, then you should not question who made the universe, the cells, the DNA, the elements and you yourself.

Regarding prophecy, I'll tell you the one fulfilling now: 2Pet 3:3,4 (ridiculers); 2Tim 3:1-5 (blasphemers and lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God); Luke 21:10,11/Revelation 6:1-8 (plagues and pestilence incuding ebola, increased strife earthwide).

For those who claim they don't believe in God, we know what they always do when they are sick, in danger or when they are about to die. They usually but belatedly cry for God's intervention: "God pls help me", "God pls help my wife to deliver safely", "God heal me of this sickness", "God...God...God..."

As expected from a book from God, the Bible has given an unmatched practical wisdom and insight in matters such as child rearing, role of husbands and wives, family happiness, business relationships, personal plans, how employers should treat employees, good work ethics, how widows and orphans should be treated, why laziness is detrimental, how to treat the elderly etc (Eph 6:4, Prov 23:12-14, Prov 22:6; Eph 5:21-33, Col3:13,14; Lu 14:28-30; Col 3:22-24, Col 4:1; James 1:27; Prov 6:6-11).

In these days of ebola, it is interesting to note that the bible has recommended medical procedures like quarantine and hygene way back in time (Leviticus 13:46), The Bible is not a science text but it has accurately explained the shape and suspension of the earth when men have yet to go into space (Isaiah 40:22, Job 26:7) The Bible is also ahead of its time by accurately explaining the water cycle (Eccl 1:7).

The only book that has accurately foretold the the future, and whose prophecy about the future continues to be reliable. Its prophecy about the fall of Babylon, about Cyrus, Jesus' birth, birthplace, death, resurrection etc are accurate beyond belief.

It is the only book that has given an unmatched insight about how we came about and where we will end up. It explains the future of mankind and where we are in the stream of time. It equally explains the condition of the dead and the hope they have

It is the best book that can change a person's life.

Culture / Re: Restriction Of Movement In Ikorodu Tomorrow Due To Ritual Rites (eluku & Oro). by patostation(m): 8:13am On Aug 08, 2014
These Ijebus use culture and tradition to mask the real evil they commit in Ikorodu. Most of the rituals they in Ikorodu are done with innocent people slaughtered to appease angry gods (the reason why people keep missing in that town.

There is no part of Nigeria without culture - argungu, durbar, eyo, new yam festival, igba nkwu, orisha etc. But any culture that involves barbarism or murder (oro, killing of twins, female genita mutilation, using other people to bury a dead king etc) has to be condemned. Say no to murder, harrassment and intimidation in the name of culture!

coolzeal: Monkeys or primates have being existing for millennium and no deadly virus outbreak. Sometimes, I wonder if Ebola virus is another research gone wrong or perhaps We are use for scientific experiment. You have to be careful of what you believe.

You are not too far from the truth. We have to be wary of these "helpers". Many new diseases ravaging the earth today (lassa fever, HIV, ebola etc) could be manufactured in the lab. And to test its efficacy, Africa is the choice field laboratory and we are the guinea pigs (of course it has to be Guinea!). Many have heard of chemical weapons, but there are even deadlier biological weapons in the arsenal of some world powers. Meanwhile there are evil scientists out there claiming that world population is growing at exponential rates and if not checked will spell doom for the planet. They have used covert methods including "vaccination" to sterilize large populations. The "suspicious" side of my brain tells me that some "evil geniuses" want ebola in Nigeria, the most populous African nation by all means.

Career / More Nigerians Are Turning To Event Dancing As A Means Of Survival by patostation(m): 11:19pm On Jul 21, 2014
It has become a new trend especially in the Ikeja area. Wherever you turned, there are youths gyrating and demonstrating with full energy, all dancing steps being exhibited in front of one shop or the other. Some of the dance scenes simulate sexual acts to the admiration of onlookers. Years ago such profession would have been considered absurd, especially for youths who are supposed to be in school. The situation is hightened by the high rate of unemployment in the land forcing some youths to devise creative means of fending for themselves. Believe it or not, it is not only the youths that are dancing. Last week, I saw a man of about 70 years in T-Shirt like the rest of the troupe jigging it out on Medical Road where a new phone shop opened its doors. Survival seems to be the tune of the dance

Sports / FIFA Reluctantly Allows Nigeria To Move Up In Latest Ranking by patostation(m): 11:01pm On Jul 17, 2014
After the world cup, I have been eager to see where FIFA will place Nigeria in its July ranking. We luckily came third in Africa and 34th in the world despite making the round of 16.

The decision makers in Zurich followed the tournament's outcome rating GERMANY No 1, ARGENTINA No.2 and NETHERLANDS No. 3. That is where the tournament rating ended as Colombia, Belgium, Uruguy, Brazil, Spain, Switzerland and France completed the first ten

Back to Africa, the order is as follows: Algeria (24), Cote d'Ivoire (25), Nigeria (34), Egypt (36), Ghana (38), Tunisia (42), Guinea (51) and Cameroun (55).

Nigeria was 44th in the last month's ranking. We no try?

That's why it is not ideal to engage in premarital sex; same reason why it is wrong to rush into marriage. Now you have married a stranger and you cannot get out of that marriage unless your wife gets involved in infidelity, speaking from the Christian point of view. For now, just endure because what God has joined together, your parents should not put asunder.
Family / Re: Divorce And The Suffering Of The Nigerian Women! by patostation(m): 9:35pm On Jan 06, 2014
The general assumption here is that women are always on the receiving end in matters of separation and divorce. But I have seen cases where a man loses all to a diabolic, cunning and vengeful wife. I have see cases where wives use their husband's resources to build costly mansions without the husband's knowledge. A former lady colleague of mine has confided in me that two of her siblings were sent abroad by her without the husband's knowledge. I have seen a wife who's joint account with the husband is under N100,000 while her personal account was reading over a million. I do not support how some men and their families treat ex-wives. But many women come into marriages with a "we versus them" attitude.

For your follow-follow type of "Christian", Jeremiah has some word for you at Jer 5:26-31. "Among my people are wicked men who lie in wait like men who snare birds and like those who set traps to catch men. Like cages full of birds, their houses are full of deceit; they have become rich and powerful and have grown fat and sleek. Their evil deeds have no limit.... The prophets prophesy lies, the priests go on subduing according to their powers, and my people (people like you), have loved it that way..."

In the same way, some cities and countries will also shout "happy new year" hours after us.
