Apination:ahh! Pastor ![]()
|
fykes:ok, what you are saying is that Paul mentioned fornication at the same time he mentioned incest all in the same one verse of that scripture? You know what? I will advice you to go back to school and learn summary ![]() |
bobolistica:I have no sinful life. On the contrary, anyone trying to create laws to prevent people from being known as married people simply because they have not wedded are the ones living sinfully, because in bible days we have understood that Adam and Eve never wedded, yet they were recognized as husband and wife Abraham and Sarah never wedded, yet they were husband and wife. David and Abigail never wedded, infact Abigail left her first husband and submitted herself to David, nobody said they committed fornication. Mary was engaged to Joseph as at the time she was pregnant for Jesus Christ, no marriage. I can list so many cases like that in the bible. Now read this GoodNews translation of the verse you quoted:the goodnews translation is still saying the same thing with king James now. A man sleeping with his step mother, that is what was known as fornication in bible days, not a man who is not married sleeping with a girl who is not married as we presume fornication to mean today. |
Mariangeles:the truth is bitter abi? ![]() |

2nattie:incest is recent word for fornication used in bible days. That is what 1 Corinthians 5:1 is pointing out. |
ZiriMane:show me scripture to support this falsehood. You people will just believe anything simply because pastor say so in church abi? |
ZiriMane:where are your scripture to support this falsehood? All I'm letting you is, it is possible to be faithful to a bf and gf relationship just like marriage |
WinningEleven:it isn't fornication when both of them involved are faithful to each other. Infact, at that point they are better than married people who are cheating on one another. Now, contrary to what we think fornication is, that it means sex involving unmarried people. Here is the Bible's view of what fornication means. 1 Corinthians 5:1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. So, fornication means a young man having sex with his father's wife or a young woman having sex with her mother's husband. In general, it means sex with a close relation. |
No, Being spiritual means a country having a number of religions practiced in the country and their adherents living together with one another tolerating each other in love irrespective of their religious differences. |
ichuka:you don't expect the bible to indicate everything do you? The bible did not indicate God saying I'm the God of Adam just like it did when God said I'm the God Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, but certainly he was the God of Adam and the scriptures does not need to indicate that. Why? Because he created Adam. |
what does it mean to speak in tongues? Is it to speak other languages you cannot speak or to make some kind of incantations like rekololodobrekalolosh!! ? |
Stupid thread!! You see why Africa will never prosper? These are the kind of things mumu Africans are interested of. Very stupid mindset. In this modern day your analogy should be between science and technology, between education and medicine, between government and justice between the church and illiterate church members and how to bridge the gap. You wake up one morning only to start drawing analogy between abstract things that do not exist like witches all in a bid to make superiority or interiority among tribes and cultures in your beloved country Nigeria? You are mentally... Let me not complete it ![]() |
Who says God did not declare that he was God of Adam? by giving Adam instruction on what to do and Adam obeyed, what do you call that, man to man relationship? |
What is the meaning of all these spiritual father thing? Do a pastor or a Christian really need it? Is it political godfatherism we are practicing in Christianity? what is that, i don't get it?

wasted years for Nigerian youths who want to aspire beyond their present level to the next level |
Yul Edochie who contested for the last elections has reacted to the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal verdict which struck out Atiku Abubakar and People’s Democractic Party’s petition of President Muhammadu Buhari not being qualified to contest in the 2019 Presidential election over his educational qualification. The tribunal yesterday in its ruling said that Mr Buhari’s certificate from the Nigerian military is higher than the Secondary School certificate which is the minimum academic requirement for the election in the constitution and he is qualified to be the president. “Mr Buhari is not only qualified but is eminently qualified” for the election, chairman of the Court of Appeal panel said. The Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie recalled how he had to attach all his certificates up to his university degree to his form when he contested in the 2017 Anambra Governorship election. He asked the Nigerian judiciary on the verdict which meant he doesn’t need those certificates to become the President, which is the highest political office in the country. When I ran for Governor I had to gather all my certificates up to my University degree and attach them to my form. Now you people are telling me I don’t even need those certificates to be President The highest office in the country? Chai! Nigerian judiciary diaris God oo!Read original

OlawaleBammie:I did not grow up in Lagos! Infact, I lived part of my life in a village where rumours of witchcraft was the talk of almost everyday, where young people like me keep accusing old people of maniputing their destiny and they claim to see all sort of mysterious things like the ones you narrated above. But through out my stay in that village I never saw anything. ![]() Why? Because, there was no such things like witchcraft manipulation, they were all imaginations and thinking of ignorant people in the village i saw q lady wen i first came to Lagos dat was telling me dat garri is harvested from the top if a particular tree, funily enof she didn't want to bliv me at first wen i told her the rigorous process it pass tru bfor it came out drygarri growing on trees. ![]() I love your sense of fiction. Infact, it should be money growing on trees ![]() |
OlawaleBammie: ![]() See, am a free thinker, i dont usually bend under pressure from d religious fanatics, even the way i tink is somehow jaw-dropping cus i bliv in less prayer, more of destiny.and you know that everything that happened in bible were documented that's how we end up believing today that there is God? If that is the case, what makes you think that you can mere narrate a phenomenon pointing out that a woman who is a witch transformed to a bird without you having a factual documentation to show for it, and you expect someone to believe your narration this modern day that there is wisdom and understanding? Have you heard of the Greek mythology? why are the stories labelled myth inspite the fact that they came with a well documentation to show for it. Well, you can keep saying that witches are wicked, they will kill you if you attempt documenting their activities. But I will tell you, that fear is a big defect to this modern world. The fear is the reason why Africa is lagging behind today in everything. |
OlawaleBammie:you funny o ![]() Let ask you another question. Do you believe that God exist? |
OlawaleBammie:but the question I'm asking is, if all these kind of things are happening in real life why are there no records to document them atleast to teach children in schools that there are actually black powers or witchcraft? We have several stories like these a lot of people saying their experiences but no single document to show that they actually happen. How will someone begin to explain in a written document for record purpose that a full grown woman turn to a bird and fly? If that is the case, certainly there will be no need for her to use public transport now. If there was any evidence that she actually used public transport in her life time then what is the need for her possessing such power? |
johnwell:but it isn't possible to know everything. Not knowing everything does not mean one is ignorant. From the little you know, you can predict or tell the outcome of a situation. For instance, i know that Christ has authority over witches. He gave me the same authority and the outcome of it is that, whether witches exist or not they do not have any effect, they are meaningless to me. Therefore, i will belittle myself to start finding out in order to know whether they do exist when i already know that Christ has defeated them. That's why i don't need to know everything. There are certain things that are not worth knowing. |
OlawaleBammie:where did you get this story from, did it happen to someone close to you or you saw it happening? It sounds like some of those African magic movies we used to watch ![]() Anyway, this is just a typical imaginations and myths of the average Nigerian person. Even if the story is not true i can pick it, make a movie out of it and it will sell only in Africa. Why? Because this is the kind of stories the people want to hear about and be marvelled 'E he!! wonders shall never end " If I pick this story and take it to church and share it as a testimony, the following Sunday come and see the crowd of people that will come to church. That is, i have won souls to the kingdom of God. People want to see that kind of miracle, People want to see that kind of power, They want to hear that there was one witch then the power of God came mightily like a flood and swept it away. They don't want to hear about love in Sunday messages. They don't want to hear about justice and equality and being human living their normal lives the way they are. Nigerians are truly fake people, Very fake ![]() |
Daguccizgreat:do we need to know everything? |
Daguccizgreat:you have said the truth sir! I have so much to know about this life, but certainly not the existence of witchcraft because they do not really exist this life. I have heard a lot of people(especially African Christians) testifying that they finally had financial breakthrough because they were delivered by the attack of witchcraft or demons but when i eventually questioned them one on one, they ended up agreeing that they encountered those failures in their lives initially not because of any witchcraft, but because there were certain aspects of their carrier which they didn't know about, until the moment they began to see the breakthrough. Infact, one of them specifically said he attended a professional course and aquire a new skill, that was when he began to see the breakthrough. Meanwhile, he has made everyone in church erroneously believe that he had the breakthrough because he attended deliverance in church. |
OlawaleBammie:we Africans today were deceived by our stereotypic beliefs that those scriptures were referring witchcraft, demons or some enemies. Now, look at it this way. You remember what Jesus told Peter when he struck off the ear of a centurion who wanted to arrest Jesus? (wrestling with principality). principalities were mere humans. The centurion had wanted to arrest Jesus because he was never a believer or disciple of Jesus. He was ready to persecute belivers having the POWER and AUTHORITY given to him by the Roman empire of that time, therefore he was a PRINCIPALITY, anti -Jesus Christ (against the believe that jesus was to the Christ). Or simply put it, he was an Antichrist. this is how it applies when Paul mentioned principalities and powers in Ephesians 6:12. He was referring to people who persecute Christians at that time. They were always empowered by the government(high place) of that time or empowered by the greatest religion of that time(Judaism) to persecute and kill Christians which was referred to as spiritual wickedness. Even Paul before he was converted obtained power and authority from the government(rulers of darkness of that world of those times because they kill innocent Christians) to persecute and kill Christians at Damascus therefore he was a principality. That was what Christians in those days contended or fought with in those days. Not any witches and wizards. Go and read those scriptures again in the light of what i just explained to you, you will see the correlation. |
