Nigerian university will teach you the basic of general computing. Its a prerequisite if you are to go far in any computing field. But you will have to get the necessary Brushup to get you going in your career. Every knowledge you acquire will be of relevance someday. Never be confined to the knowledge within the four walls of the university. As a student of computer science with up to date knowledge, you will stand out among your peers who lack the rudimentary. As for the university that will ground you well, I suggest covenant university if you can afford it |
The first time i witnessed a one hour straight bloody fistfight was in Aduwawa park in Benin city. That day i know say Lagos na mouth we get, no liver |
Medhi Hassan is a brute when it comes to political grilling. Sowunmi and Keyamo probably thought the interview would be beans. That guy knows his job. |
The NPF needs to get to the root of this ASAP |
OP, We understand your point. The casing point of the north not been motivated to venture into unchartered academic territories as its regional peers all emanate from its unwillingness to adapt to changes because an average northerner sees education differently from how the southern peer sees it. To compound this, the encroachment of the military presented an open opportunity for the northern elites to fill up the disparity or academic bridge between the north and the south. Most of the beneficiaries of government appointments got their confirmation not based on merit but through mere selection/appointment by military administrators. Like they say, " You value what you sweat for". The north is too traditional to be able to quickly solve its immediate academic problem and this has always been a drawback when it comes to competing To to Toe with the south. A good example is the nomination of chief justice of Nigeria. Between 1958 and 1987, southerners who had reached the very peak of the legal practice been SANs and the rest got to that office by educational excellence and prowess. But between 1987 to 2016, most of those who have held those positions are mostly northerners who have barely been confirmed as SANs. By lowering the bar, this has made the need for the northern folks to compete unnecessary. This has resulted in the fallout we are seeing today. The north needs to compete on a level playing ground in order to achieve this feat. It can be done in due time. |

Nakedwire635:Keep waiting for those two. You will be disappointed. This is the best you can get, make the best of it. |
One of the best ways to confirm a bank transaction is through your bank app. Never rely on SMS alert as it can be easily modified and made toblook like the text originated from the bank. Never rely solely on the USSD interface as in extreme hack cases, they are not 100% foolproof. USSD relies on your telco that acts as third party. Business men and merchants should develop an habit of relying on bank apps than SMS transactions. |
Many Nigerians are deliberately jobless and can't help mind their businesses |
One of the few achievements of this administration. |
ednut1:A lot of CCTV installers are quacks and are limited in the knowledge of surveillance camera angles. Many are not properly trained on angle placement. A security camera placed in the middle of a four by four room is the height of quackery. Imagine the camera lens directly ping to the floor. Didn't the owner of the shop notice this anomaly before the incident? Stop patronizing quacks. You need professional CCTV installers? The first time i visited enugu, i immediately fell in love with the city. The city, the people, the ambiance are a joy to relish. I look forward to another visit and hope to stay longer. |
See the way Nigerian politicians are installing human being as if they are installing software. Fear Nigerian politician |
Madonna University license needs to be revoked ASAP |
NLNG is now the conduits pipe of the NNPC. If $2.3 billion could be dividend that the NNPC is entitled to, how much then is NNPC itself worth and how much is it contributing. You withdraw money from another arm or sister company of yours to pay a subsidy claim that is rigged in financial controversy and you expect the national assembly to shut up and sign the check |
Non of these IT Certifications can get you a million dollar job. What is the point of getting all these certifications just to earn a salary that is dependent on its relevance in the IT field. I'd rather be a business developer with minimal programming skill but the potential to strike a million dollar tech deal or product in the shortest possible time. |

Silk Road 2.0. I see you |
Topmaike007:Tell me one product which has vast and up to date support and development community that has emanated from china? The chinese have very low respect for privacy and intellectual property. Their products are agents of spywares for their government. The upper hand the chinese have is their swiftness to adopting new technologies while others are pussy-footing. The foundation of most of their products are technology from elsewhere. All the same, the chinese have done well for themselves but they know their place. |
Aside from Ali Express ad cheap variants of products, what else do the chinese have to offer? WEEBO, WECHAT etc are all domicilled in china and the whole world wouldnt touch it with a stick. China is a country like the America and not the whole world |
Very good brand but bad market practice |
They most likely fleed because they were outnumbered. Consistent and strategic attack on BHT positions will ultimately render them confused and left with no option but to surrender. Cat and Mouse tactics don't win such wars. |
That's a dumb CCTV camera. To up the stake, surveillance cameras now have upgraded features that allows alerts and screenshots to be sent to mobile phones at anytime of the day. This is pre-programmed to trigger at an instance of breach within a restricted time domain (10pm to 8am or as preferred) The Internet technology aides this. As criminals become bolder, owners also need to upgrade. With a screenshot and alert sent to owners mobile phone, a quick call to the police or nearby security personnels would have thwarted this act. Check out installation thread here: https://www.nairaland.com/4298078/cctv-installation-offices-home-pics Act now. Call 08166894416 for professional IP/CCTV surveillance camera installation. |

His village people would have to come for the four. Devil lost this one |
BlowBack:The treaty doesn't cover anti-vehicle mines, just anti personnel mines. This is one the military can explore. The mines can be tagged and gun marked from metres away from the base. BHT relies heavily on these guns trucks. If they see their trucks being torn to pieces, this will slow down their advances and their shooting capabilities will be reduced to long distances. |
PatrickOkunima:Yes, I take FarahAideed comment to be very factual. My concern about this war is why the hierarchy has not deemed it necessary to plant mines around our critical bases. Boko Haram, a rag tag group used these tactics, which was why Sambisa Forest became a fortress of some sort for their carnage. The use of these mines slowed down movement of our troops advancement buying BHT valuable time to carry out ambush. If BH is deploying such why are we not, considering the fact that metele is a border town to the chadian force, and they had tactically withdrawn from these war, leaving our base exposed. A five kilometers mined field radius around that base would have seriously damaged numbers of approaching BHT AA mounted gun trucks. It doesn't baffle me how BHT are able to encircle a base like that. They know the first line of defense are shallow dug trenches which can be defeated by high calibre gun power. I bet BH would not carry out attacks in the dead of dawn if they knew they base was fortified with mines as those AA trucks they rely so much on will end up in pieces. Mines around our bases would deter Boko Haram. The army authority should look into it. |
Muslim/Christain combo. Very deadly impact. I am sure they both pay their dues. As for Theresa, I'm sure she was informed of the impending arrest and she headed straight to Bermuda triangle. Crime never pays. Earn a honest, hardworking living and live a life of content with peace of mind. |
Someone remind me when the military will go on offensive mode like the last govt did just before election. Tired of this defensive, mop up, clearing nonsense routine that our Army has been reduced to. |
bidex111: |
Engineer123:Watch how the Nigerian Army are ordered to take a defensive position other than offensive. Two weeks of intense air and landed offensive approach will deal a blow to this group. A certain GEJ did it towards the electioneering campaigns in 2015 and after that they went back to status quo. The conspiracy in this war is so glaring, even the blind sense it. |
By now some certain security chiefs should be relieved of their post |
