You are fool young man, you'll ruin your marriage if you continue like this, so you where comfortably in a hotel room while your newly wedded wife slept in the veranda and you have the guts to post it here, always remember that women don't forget.
Thank you. That's my take too. The woman was wrong to have disrespected her husband, but the punishment wasn't commensurate to the offence. Ki la gbe, ki le ju?

For risking my life with robbers, rapists, ritualists and the likes, thereby putting me in harm's way, I won't divorce him but it's waiting for him. I don't know the Jupiter that'll talk me out of taking my pound of flesh. It's seething, simmering, waiting for him. I'd serve him better than he served me. Wicked egoist!

Kaka in his prime was unplayable!

I can still clearly remember his assist for the third goal scored by Crespo against Liverpool in 2005. It was out of this world.
Yeah Hernan Crespo!

I remember those days when NTA used to show Serie A in the night. I loved AC Milan then, clinical.

Loved watching Seedorf, Fillipo Inzaghi, Gennaro Gatuso, Dida, Mathieu Flamini, Pirlo, Pato, Kaka, Ambrossini, Klaas Huntelaar, Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva, Nesta and Robinho.

Beautiful days.

The world has been privileged to see legends play the round-leather game. In their prime, most of these players were a delight to watch.

Some of them were defenders who were rock-solid at the heart of the defence while others were midfielders who mastered the sublime art of pulling the strings from the center of the park.

Others were fiery strikers who were always at the right position at the right time, thereby being a thorn in the defenders flesh. Of course, they also gave the goalkeepers a run for their money.

Most of these players hit their prime before the Arab-Money intervention in mainstream football.

Let me put it to you. Pick one player from the frame who you'd like to see dazzle on the green-turf again.

As for me, I'd go for my all-time GOAT, Ronaldinho Gaucho.

PS: Kindly mention the player's name in case the image is not shown in this post.
I'd pick my Arsenal players

Thierry Henry. He's my number one sports personality forever and ever. He and Kanu plus Wenger himself made me fall hopelessly and helplessly in love with Arsenal, such that even if they go to relegation, I'd gladly follow.

Then I'd go for Andre Pirlo the free kick master.

My all time great Dennis Bergkamp.

Why is Kanu not here? Would've picked him as well.

My little niece found condoms in my stuff..unfortunately, I wasn't home so she took it outside to show her mum to " see uncle's sweets " cry It was a full house(a day to a family function). Uncles, aunties, siblings, cousins, my parents, everyone saw it. I got back home and everyone stared at me in silence. The rest is history grin

I have no idea since I wasn't home when it happened and I didn't care much.. I had way more to worry about. An ss1 student with condoms was quite an "abomination" back then grin
We were in primary 5 when we saw condom in our teacher's cupboard. He was a young bachelor then, I think he was still schooling part time even. He was a dashing young man and he received female friends after closing hours. We knew because we do extra coaching. I liked him because he was a good teacher, strict disciplinarian, yet loving. He do make hot tea for the entire class when the weather is cold and he loved us, boys and girls, like his own. In short, we were free with him; even back then when you dare not look at your teacher in the face.

It was that freedom that led us to his cupboard that day, dunno what we were searching for in particular before we stumbled on the CD. In our curiosity, we opened the seal and we were so thrilled to see a new kind of balloon. We took our balloon straight to the school tap and were more thrilled because as we filled it with water, it got bigger. We were cheering ourselves on and pouring the water from the balloon on ourselves. There were fewer people in school at the time, only extra mural teachers and their pupils. It was at this time he came back from wherever. He might have felt embarrassed but in our innocence we didn't see that. He just took charge. "Enough play time, get back to class and settle down!"

He never told us what it was, he just told us not to touch this kind of balloon again. I was to find out on my own years, many, many years later.

As for those things OP listed, I am a good girl. I have been from way back so no catching me with exhibits grin

When you complain, they call you a wailer, an unpatriotic citizen suffering from inferiority complex especially if you try to compare us with white countries.

When you mention that maybe we get Harvard and MIT grads or the best of the best here, to be leaders, they say they rather local, tested and trusted corrupt politicians. Their trust is directly proportional to the scale of corruption, the more corrupt you are, the more you are trusted.

When you say, okay let’s divide the country or at least have regions sort themselves out, they tell you that this British creation, one not of their own ancestral doing, can never be undone. Never ever ever!

Who are they? Your fellow Nigerians.

Can I even blame them? It’s like the chicken and the egg question, which came first? If the egg came first, then what laid it? If the chicken came first, then how did it come to be?

Leaders or more accurately, rulers here in Naija bastardize the country and leave citizens uneducated, citizens in turn support the corrupt leaders to further impoverish them. Who is to be blamed? The citizens or the rulers?

Anyways, may God be with you bro and help you to rise above the many challenges! It is about time I return to the deep, sigh.
The Nigerian story you have painted here, which is abysmally true, reminds me of the history of Haiti. They used to be good. Their leaders (a few influential citizens) with help from the international community ruined them. They're mostly poor and uneducated and their reasoning flawed!

Only a few privileged class are holding us -the entire populace- to ransom here. I don't know what to wish Nigeria. Maybe we should return to being colonised. If we can't progress, let's retreat o!

RomanceRe: What My Girl Friend Mum Asked Me. by placeofallure(f): 7:15pm On Mar 14, 2022
ndukwechinasa:
I met my girl friend around 2015 but I was not so serious about loving her. Just wanted to make love to her normally or even become a casual friend. But my intentions did not work out as planned we both stop communicating.

Not until December 2020 when I had accident and she eventually came visiting me and bought somethings for me. I was so impressed for the kind gestures. Her care and kindness made me started loving her.

However, this love extended to her family. I always call the sisters and the mum at will. I also visit their village during festivities and their base too. She is kind to me that I can not imagine. I have grown to love her immensely that I don't have affection for another woman.

But yesterday, my babe called that the mum wants to speak with me. I aborted the call and hurriedly call back. I greeted the mum and she responded very well. She asked me not to get upset that she wants to know my intention towards her daughter that time waits for no one and again there are suitors coming but the daughter said she loves me. Finally she will not be happy with me if I dump the daughter in due course.

I just told her that I love her daughter so much and I also have the intention to marry her but she should also pray for me that things work out right for me.

Honestly, I really love the girl so much but I am not financially stable now cos I lost my job two years ago and I have been trying to put things in order as to meet up financially.

What do I really do now?

MATURE MINDS
Tell her exactly what you told us now. You may leave out the part where you said you initially wanted to just chop and clean mouth. If the mother isn't money crazed, she'd pray for you to make it in life quickly and encourage her daughter to be patient.

My mum did exactly that for me. She told me not to lose faith in my bf then (now hubby) that the fact that he didn't have then doesn't mean he'd be like that forever. Today, my husband worships my mum, you'd think she gave birth to him and there's nothing he can't do for her too. I envy them.

Get your acts together, work hard and work smart, you'll be fine. The girl seems like a good girl, don't lose her.

Comradewhy:
Please what is wrong with a leg chain?
So any guy with a tattoo is a rascal? Something like that.
Or any guy with a moustache is related to Hitler?
It’s just jewelry,Seriously, not everything is an attempt to do something or attract someone.
Seriously. That’s it. She probably just likes leg chains.

Stop trying to analyze every woman’s actions based on her trying to attract someone,or her being a bad person.
Why does it have to mean anything? Perhaps the lady in question just like wearing jewellery, Africans still have a very long way to go when it comes to thinking and overlooking things that doesn't even matter.
I've stopped trying to convince people it's just another piece of jewellery.
I have double ear piercings, I wear waist beads, I occasionally wear ankle chains. I wear multiple rings on my fingers at times too apart from my wedding band, what else? They're just my way of expressing myself. I don't wear high heels which some people can't do without. I don't paint my face with multiple colours, which some people cannot do without. I don't wear skimpy which some can't do without. I work 9-5, I don't do parties or clubbing. It doesn't mean I'm a better person than them or they're a better people than me. It's individual preferences and expression of style. Nothing more!

Her undoing is wearing the ankle chain to work especially to a job interview. If she's really fashion savvy, she should know how to coordinate her fashion. I wear my anklets to work but not on normal office days. I do it only on days when work is like play - weekends, extra overtime days (public holidays) emergency office runs etc.
Tall and short, nothing wrong with leg chains. Some girls are plain Janes but they're she-devils.

EducationRe: My FUTO Lodge-Mate's Roommate Is A Child Trafficker by placeofallure(f): 11:37am On Mar 14, 2022
Voldoz:
Good day Nairalanders, Happy Sunday

So this happened yesterday in my street (in school FUTO).

There was this girl leaving with a guy in my lodge, this girl usually dress up, makeup not as if she is going out or something, she usually just move around the street doing nothing.

I told a friend of mine severally that the girl is suspicious and the way she behaves too, how come a jobless person like this be using such an expensive smartphone but my friend told me maybe she has a rich boyfriend or she might be a hooker.

So yesterday (Saturday morning) we discussed this same issue in the morning, I was persistent cause my mind wasn't at peace with her around.

Later that same day around 8:00pm some women were just screaming and I later went out to check what's going on and they told me this same girl was caught kidnapping a child, she has carried the child from the community (Eziobodo) and was caught in the other community (Ihiagwa).

She was a child trafficker.

They were seriously beating her yesterday and they wanted to set her ablaze but she was later handed over to the police.

A moral lesson I learnt from this is that we should be cautious of our surroundings no matter what, we only know people on the out side and not on the inside, that's why the Whites usually calls the police if they suspect anything about someone.

To all the professor Lincoln on the house sorry if I went off with some of my grammar.
Yeah you did went off . There were structure, spelling and punctuation errors.

God help us at this crucial time. People are desperate to make money. I agree with you, we should be vigilant and proactive about it, the days are evil.

Hard to believe these girls are actually in prison.
Me too!

But it takes just a thin line to cross the Rubicon.

I remember it vividly, August 18, some years back. I would have become a prisoner on life or death sentence, committing murder trying to protect the one person that means the entire world to me. In a moment of untamed rage, I would've killed him. I remember him telling me on our way to the hospital, that if he doesn't make it, I should tell his family another story and not what happened so they don't taunt me. Yes, he loved me that much and I crazily love him too. Sending me to prison wouldn't even be anything. What I wouldn't be able to live with is the agonising, painful memories that I destroyed the one thing that I cherish.

For these young ladies too, some of their stories could be similar to mine. Emotions need to be tamed so one doesn't end up a criminal. Prior to my incidence I haven't even been to a police station. Whew! That's how I'd have been a jailbird but thank God he survived. That incidence changed me. No more anger fits.
Thank God for grace.

1. Your mother lied to you much like most women out there were also lied to in that there same Nigeria.. undecided

If she had told you, for example that by opting for traditional law, your husband is allowed by law to marry other wives and divorce you without a dime when he So chooses, something that can't happen had you opted for the registry affair, would you have seen your traditional the same way? undecided

2. Remembering a ceremony does that but it does not make it any more than just that, a ceremony.. undecided
For you maybe. For me, it wasn't just a ceremony. It's unquantifiable.

Then I insist, traditional marriage is the real deal. Even clergymen would attest to this. Church marriage or court marriage doesn't make you more married than you'd be if you only did traditional marriage. Our culture, as unrefined as it seems to people like you, has laws that bind the people and conform them to live peaceable lives in the community. Marital living inclusive.
