Way back, I remember asking my bf when we were doing it if we would be together forever, he said "Yes." And here we are, about a decade as man and wife and still counting. At times, those promises are real, it depends on the part of your heart where it came from.

didn't putin brainwashed you that he is not going to invade Ukrain? "how can i invade my neighbour" he said.

so don't be fooled again that the slained Russia soldiers is a false claim, because mr. putin will never admit out of shame!! pikin beat papa na shame oga.
attacking residential buildings is highly condemnable but to the day that I made this comment, it was very minimal. I'm not in any way supporting the invasion. Only making comments from the observation of the attacks so far. I saw videos where they announce to soldiers to surrounder to avoid unnecessary bloodbath.

I'm not taking side in this war because the America that's pushing Ukraine on are hypocrite. They don't have any moral right to condemn Russia but they're nudging Ukraine on for their own interest. And Europe keep following America without considering the damage it will do in their own region
So because they announced to the Ukrainian Force to surrender before attacking them, it was okay right? If you were them, you would surrender your territory just because some bully asked you to?

You're an Adolph Hitler in the making when you talk like this. People should be wary of you.

Tinubu is always appearing like someone who had just woken up from sleep, he slurs when he talks. He looks unhealthier than even Buhari. I am tired of these men.

In life,

Some have bread but cannot eat,

Some can eat but have no bread.

In my 100 level, the boy that had the highest Jamb scores couldn't continue with the registrations due to money constraints. He was living with his aged grandmother who could barely feed him. He had to go back home. I felt pity but I was helpless. Though I could barely recall what he looked like, I always remember that incident.

Jerry, you're lucky to have a second chance in life due to your kind heart, do not waste this rare privilege. Go and be successful!

God bless Obi Cubana.

afrobadoo:
It is a rare sight in Nigeria for a man to unite the elites, bourgeoisie and working class under one roof. It is equally difficult to see Nigerians from different tribes come together in unity and respect of a common goal even more so when convened by a fellow Nigerian. The rarity of such occasions is lost on Senator Anyim Pius Anyim as he has continued to pull it off in the most natural manner and once more, he has done it.

As he marked his 61st birthday on February 19 in Abuja, men from every stratum of the society gathered to commemorate the event. It is obvious that his non-discriminatory personality and impeccable track record of building consensus between different segments of the country is paying off. This grand event of his is proof of that.

According to one of those present, Senator Anyim does not play favourites. No matter what part of Nigeria you are from, he treats you with equal respect. This is an attitude he has maintained all through his years in the public service and that is why he is considered a man of the people.

In my university days, my friend and I were recounting our childhood memories, my friend can act like a tomboy at times. She told me of her experience acting as the keeper in a football game. (The other players were boys) That time, she just started to blossom in the chest region. That was when one of the players fired this boolu onike shot and it landed right on her chest Gbam! Her legs wobbled under her weight and down she goes. They carried her off the pitch and that incidence ended her football career. Infact, she no wan hear Man U or Arsenal since then.

Good woman...her price is far above rubies.

I did exactly this for my wedding, maybe a lil more, and we didn't die.

I got all the materials needed for my simple wedding gown myself, the tailor didn't charge much cause she didn't even know she was sewing a wedding dress. It was a modest gown.

My sister and I baked the three-tier cake ourselves.

We decorated the venue, dad's big compound, ourselves.

I made up my face and tied my gele myself. I did my bead and jewelry myself.

My sisters, mum and I and a neighbor did the cooking. The crowd is about a hundred, not more.

Weirdest thing, after the ceremony, hubby and I both went to work the same day. Money has got to be made. Mi o r'aye nonsense.

With the modesty, wedding never scatter for 11 years and counting, still waxing stronger.

She has a great body too. That's why some men won't mind to be with older ladies. They strike gold at times.

Also include'There n Their"
It's true that people confuse the use of: There, Their and They're.

There means in, of or to that place. It could also mean to exist, that's the existential there.
E.g. Please, sit there.
There are ten pupils in the
classroom.

Their. This is a possessive pronoun indicating what some people own or what belongs to them.
E.g. The house belongs to Jack and Jill, it
is their house.

They're. This is simply the contracted or shortened form of "they are".
E.g. They're Nigerians.

Look at this: The teacher asked them to put their books there if they're done.

Been........and .......being
"Been" is an inflection of the verb 'be'. It refers to the past or an action that started in the past and is continuing into the present. We only use "been" with the three "h" helping verbs - has, have and had.
E.g. I have been to Dubai once.
He has been living in Lagos for many
years now.
They had been seated in the hall
before the artiste arrived.

"Being" is a present continuous participle for the verb "be"
E.g. The man is being accused of theft.
We are being considered for the
captaincy position.
Being the breadwinner of the family
is tasking.

I hope this will suffice.

9jaBloke:
Pure coincidence but then:

Let us be mindful of the kind of words we speak to ourselves and to others.

Let me share a personal experience (please pardon the length):
Many years ago, I drove my Dad from Ilesa to Lagos for an important business meeting. The discussion was kind of boring so I left the conference room and went to the vehicle to chill. Still bored, I switched on the radio and kept tuning until I got to a channel (can't recall which). A call-in program was on-going and the question was 'If God leaves you to decide how much longer you want to live, how many years would you ask for and why?'.

Listeners called in and gave varying figures...100 years, 200, 80, 50. Most people's reason was that they still had a lot to achieve. Some said life was too good. One woman said she wanted to see her great great grand children.

I decided to call in and say something shocking, just for the fun of it. I wanted to say that I would ask God for one more day because life is stressful and boring. I tried and tried but my call didn't go through, probably because of the number of people trying to call. It finally connected just as the program was about to end but the presenter announced that they won't be taking any more calls. So I didn't get to air my outrageous view on radio.

The next day, we set off for Ilesa, I drove. Just before Ibadan, Ratcon Construction Company was fixing the expressway at a sharp bend, and their heavy duty vehicles occupied one lane. This generated traffic as all the cars on the road were forced to slow down and squeeze into the other lane. I negotiated that bend at about 80-100 kph, saw the traffic, slowed down completely and joined the queue.

Less than a minute later, I heard some shouting behind me, I looked in my rearview mirror and saw a petroleum tanker bearing down on me. The tanker driver must have got to the bend at top speed like most vehicles, saw the traffic and lost control. The tanker was directly behind me and was definitely going to crush me. All I can remember was unconsciously whispering God please... God please.

Suddenly, a white inter-state commercial bus appeared, driving at break-neck speed and also lost control. The bus driver must have been trying to overtake the tanker at the bend with no knowledge of what was going on.(all these happened in split seconds)

Both the bus and the tanker hit me. The bus, a fraction of a second earlier than the tanker. The bus pushed me forward and took my original space. The tanker hit both of us but the bus took most of the impact. The tanker's blow on my vehicle was glancing so it sent me into the surrounding bushes. The bus was completely crushed. My Dad and I came out of the bushes and watched the bus driver die.

The tanker (fully loaded) had overturned and fuel was trickling out of one compartment. Luckily it was diesel so it didn't ignite.

The events of those two days will be vividly etched in my memory forever.

Now, I'm not a superstitious person. I'm very strong on facts and logic but at times, I can't help but wonder if the result would have been different if my call went through.
Lesson - Always make positive pronouncements concerning yourself.

Most Yorubas of today are so greedy, unreasonable and heartless. They lack empathy and still want others support.

Imagine if it were to be Igbos that have ruled from 1999 to 2007, and produced vice from 2015 to 2023 now asking to produce President from 2023 to 2031, imagine what these wicked Yoruba souls would have been saying about Igbos?

They would have called Igbos all sorts of unprintable names, very greedy and dishonorable set of people angry
It's a pity you still haven't learned the dynamics of how power works in our political terrain here. Nobody is saying Igbos shouldn't contest. Anybody that is qualified can contest really. In fact, if you asked for my candid opinion, I'd say it's the turn of the Igbos.

Tinubu has been working towards his presidential ambition for how many years now? Nobody else has indicated interest until recently. People like Ngige and some of the other Igbo stalwarts are still contemplating whether to declare or not. Meanwhile, Tinubu and his foot soldiers have been working, not resting on their oars. Be the judge. Who is more deserving?

If the Igbos think they can sit on the reclining chair, and expect power to drop on their laps, without ever hustling for it, then they better have another think coming. No droppings on a platter of gold. Enu kiniun l'owo wa!
