You fail to provide good health care and medicines, and you believe that to improve the health system of the people all you need to do is to ban their use of herbs which people have had to resort?

I think some people need a brochure for using their brain. Something like "Thinking made easy", "Key points to using the brain", and "Applying the brain for dummies".

I keep getting shocked that human evolution has refused to move humanity beyond inverted reasoning, blaming the victim of a failed system for the ineptitude of their elected officers.

We have a few years before countries stop combustion engine production. European countries will stop producing generators. But the countries producing them don't use it. We can spend money on other sources of energy like solar, there are intelligent Nigerians out there developing better cheap sources of energy we are not supporting. States are supposed to spend money on research and installation of solar in schools and hospitals. We should look at noise pollution and air pollution these generators cause and the health impacts in our lives.

FFK has money to fly to UK for care do we all have that NO. My argument might not make sense now but look at the future opportunity.

We can go ahead and blame other ladies, even men, all we want, but it doesn't change the fact that we all are different. And we cannot judge others by our own value system. We men do the same, doing silly things because of ladies that we can never get. And that is the funny and interesting thing about this life. A man is trying to get a woman that he can never have, and another woman is trying to get the heart of the man who already desires another; while the first woman is only interested in getting another man entirely.

What is truly shameful is men reducing themselves to unthinking beast and so giving credence to the stereotype that sex is the most important thing to men.

It isn't always about discipline. Sometimes it is about absolute lack of interest. Unfortunately many ladies can't handle such rejection and they take it as a sentence of lack of sexiness on their part. Believe it some men are just not attracted to some women period. He rough handled me on my first visit to his house, claims to want a serious relationship. Can he really be serious about being serious or he is just a play boy?

So I met this guy about two weeks ago close to my street. He calls but I hardly pick. Eventually, I picked and he asked if he could pick me after work and we hangout. I accepted. He picked me up after work last week Friday. Well, we met again on Monday, I took just water intentionally. This time I minded the distance between us. He wanted to see again on Tuesday, I declined. This morning, he is apologizing and repeating the things he said when we got to his house that he wants something serious with me and he wants us to start something and want it to work out. He asked to come see me at work today but I declined. With this red flags, is there a possibility that he is truly serious like he said? Or he is just doing the usual lies to get the cookie and go away. He has a nice ride and nice house, I suspect he may have girls around him. My concern isn't all these, I just want to be with a serious man who is in for commitment and not just sex.

I didn't even know the doctor from Adam, but it doesn't seem reasonable to me for a medical doctor of her stature to get involved in such nonsense like that. And from the much I know about delivery, doctors hardly handle the placenta; it is nurses that hand it over to the family.

Apparently many Nigerians are so messed up that they are ready to believe the worst of everyone. The nurse and the actual doctor who handled the delivery should be interrogated but a missing placenta does not warrant an arrest.

We should avoid jumping to conclusions.

First and foremost, it is difficult to believe that a medical doctor that has attained to the level of having a private clinic would need a placenta for anything... How much would the sale of placenta would have fetched a medical doctor that probably had charged between 150k and 200k for the surgery?

Secondly, child births in Nigeria are often an occasion for many people, friends and relatives to visit the woman who has just put to bed. Anyone of such visitors could have carried the placenta. In fact, the father of the newborn could have carried the placenta and he's now trying to save face.
Usually the moment the procedure is complete a nurse (not even the attending physician) will pack the placenta in a container and hand it over to the father of the newborn, or any other close family member. Unfortunately most hospitals don't keep record of such exchange and it may be difficult to exonerate themselves. Our doctors should start keeping accurate records of things like this to avoid useless things of this sort embarrassing them.

It appears Nigerians are always so eager to bash Medical Doctors, Lecturers, Pastors etc... in fact, anyone Nigerians feel is doing well, they try to take their frustration out on, as if the Doctors (etc) are the ones responsible for their miserable lives.

Good question. Except the Earth is not a close system in a strictly thermodynamic science. It is merely assumed to be. The Universe is what better describes a close system and not the Earth. In fact, the mere fact that the Earth gets irradiated everyday by solar energy from the Sun (which is outside of the Earth) is the easiest proof that the Earth is not a close system. In a close system, energy is supposed to be religiously conserved: no energy gain and no energy loss.

If the Universe is indeed proven to be the only time-space that exists, then the Universe is the one that is a close system. I think the Earth is an open system even though thermodynamics law are pretty much relevant even at its level. But, it is not a perfect close system.

But you're right. That's the first question that came to my mind as well. Where exactly did the water go? Such huge body of water that must have submerged the highest ancient mountains. I am really curious to read the explanation for that.

I'm really glad we have informed and logical people like you on Nairalands. Covid-19 is a recent discovery, a novel strain in the family of coronaviruses discovered around December 2019. That's right, just few months ago. Which completely makes nonsense of the claim of a discovery predating its discovery. Iwu claims he discovered the cure in 2015 to a pathogen that was discovered about 4 months ago, and some people expect everyone to jump on the silly wagon of belief. Perhaps he found something in truth; perhaps a found a pesticide that had worked ex vivo on an old member of the coronviridae family of virus, a property that most pesticides can easily boast of... Viruses are the easiest pathogens to destroy ex vivo by a wide range of chemicals, but these chemicals don't exactly qualify as drugs because in the body they won't just kill the virus, they will kill the person too...
I have taken time to track down Prof Iwu's publications, unfortunately I couldn't find even one that comes close to the claimed activity against any strain of coronaviruses. Which gives one concern about his motive for claiming he has discovered a cure.

I've seen many comments like yours, people like you who think they know what they are talking about based on information they get from social media and their grandparents without really knowing anything. In order to sound intelligent they end up making a fool of themselves because half-education can sometimes be worse than no education.
That the Corona group of viruses have been in existence for ages does not mean that they are all the same. Every new strain is a new virus, belonging to a group does not remove from you the qualities that make you unique and different from others. A single genetic mutation is all it takes to convert a seemingly benign organism to a more deadly one capable of causing fatalities on a global scale. That is part of the reason this particular strain of Corona virus is referred to as novel (novel in this case means new or unusual) and has to be renamed COVID-19 because it was discovered in December 2019.
Please learn to study in-depth whatever you read, and even when you think you know something others do not, try to pass your message along without being condescending or downright insulting.
