Celebrities / Re: Dayo Amusa Reacts To Bobrisky Winning 'Best Dressed Female' Award by pocohantas(f): 6:28pm On Mar 26
Eunoiaa:

So dressing makes a man a woman? Mind you, you didn't just say Bobrisky dressed better than the women, which I wouldn't have had any problem with. No. You equated him with the whole of womanhood and the totality of femininity. From menstruation to pregnancy to breastfeeding, and the unique, collective humanity we share, you said a man, a caricature is better than that.

Like how hard is it to pick your words carefully and be mindful of the implication of your statements?

A man who cooks better than a woman is a man.
A man who dresses better than a woman is a man
A man who styles hair better than a woman is a man.
A man who wears makeup is a man.
A man who wears high heels and fix nails is a man.

Doing things traditionally associated to women doesn't make a man woman.

Simply praise what they do, and keep it moving. Not offend people's sensibilities and try to change reality by saying a man is a better woman than women because he dresses well. Are clothes what makes a person a woman? Women have been wearing trousers for ages. Butch (lesbians) been around for a while, and I have NOT seen any one say that they are better men than men are. Stop buying into the "woke" agenda. Nobody can become the other sex. Being a woman is not about the clothes you wear. End of.

I like to think they know.
But potatoes must potate.

I am curious, are there places which guarantees at least 18 hours of electricity (except when it rains) in Lagos that are not part of these 24-hours power supply estates?

Yes, there are. The last time I told my friend of our power situation, her bf moved into my neighbourhood. So, I am gatekeeping.

It's only become a problem of recent with high diesel cost and poor power from EKEDC/EKEDC. Just 12 months ago diesel was N650.

No, it is not a problem of recent as the post clearly states it was once N195. Even at the former price it was high. I had colleagues staying in such estates and asides bragging of 24hrs electricity, they couldn't afford to put on their electrical appliances. The only good part was they knew the light was there and could have a timetable of when to on/off their refrigerators/ACs.

He, therefore, served the residents notice of tariff increase from N195.00/kilowatt to N250.00/kilowatt, citing a market survey showing a few estates that supply 24-hour power where tariff is now N350.00/kilowatt, which is about 79 percent increase from N195.00 per kilowatt.

I am not moved by these estates claiming 24hrs power supply. Most times they would almost kill you with cost. You will have light, but to put on AC go hard you. It is better to just find a normal secure area as a young person and build you life. Don't fall for any estate and 24hrs power scam. Imagine N350 per kilowatt.

Family / Re: There's No Competition In Marriage. by pocohantas(f): 9:59am On Mar 25
The ones that hate to see a happy home have commented as usual. It is funny that the simps are rarely online typing aggressively on marriage threads. It is always the supposed alphas doing it.

"No woman would ever help her man". Here is a woman that has done it and the man was truthful enough to admit it was him transferring aggression on her, yet they are not satisfied.

When I say these ones are wizards and ladies here shouldn't get depressed after reading their posts, trust me I know. They are not the men marrying. They are just agent of distractions programmed to capsize relationships and marriages.

She had already lived with her husband and children for years before filing for divorce probably after she was caught

I do know she has been married or rather I read it on Twitter when she trended. I think people used it to attack her and she confirmed while claiming it was the worst period of her life. I am only saying people like her who claim marriage to the opposite sex is of no good should marry their gender. Even if she didn't have kids, she would still get them now like most homosexuals do.

But we have other men who are doing well

Kanayo O Kanayo

Even Olu Jacobs that is ill is not begging for money.

I think everyone needs to start looking at investments in their old age.

I don't think it is about investments because kidney issues can gulp down investments in a blink. It is more of lifestyle and health. If KOK has kidney failure tomorrow, that his house won't save him. I have uncles that are diabetic, rarely aunties. Igbo men especially should reduce beer. Big stomach is not enjoyment.

Also salt and MSG intake is too much in Nigeria.

Use salt to wash ugu.
Use salt to wash beef.
Use it to wash okporoko.
Still put in the soup.
Serve the soup with akpu.
By the side of his plate, you put a spoon of salt for him to sprinkle on the food.

Why??

Death is inevitable, but don't use your hand to bring it closer.

Ladies, is it just me or has nairaland become dry and boring? I can't find any interesting or engaging threads to read after weeks of not visiting the site.

Anyway I'm curious to know what you all do for fun to de-stress and unwind, what new things you've tried lately and enjoyed, what suggestions you have for simply enjoying life.

I read some where that we will always have problems or some sort of conflict in this life, so find ways to enjoy life while solving the problems.

I went hiking for the first time in my life and thoroughly enjoyed the experience (here in Naija, not obodo). YouTube Shorts is now my favourite thing to watch, I love the variety it offers and diversity in the comments section.

No, it is not just you. Every topic has been discussed and anything you say is like pouring water on a rock. People would still do what they want to do. Fun and educative sections like Travel is dying because people don't travel anyhow again in this economy. Even japa is now luxury. So nothing new in that section.

I won't say I have done anything new, I only do them more. A bucket list of places, read books, take a walk, workout, vacations and I attended a cooking class for foreign dishes.

Indeed there would always be problems. I am at a stage where I just want to enjoy life. Few days ago I was telling him and he said I'll get tired. Now it is my turn to enjoy, you say I will tire. When you were traveling your own and buying cars, did you get tired? Why are humans like this?

Before I don't honour most invitations to events, but now I do. Opportunity to socialise, dressup and take pictures.

________________

You won't find engaging threads because 20 kids do not play for 20yrs. It is funny some combatants are yet to get the memo. One said it is the reality of evening newspapership dawning on me. No dude, I have money to make, more family time and places to visit, biko.

He probably has some unrealistic expectations.

To be candid, no body can give you the peace you need. they are not the holy spirit that gives true peace that comes from above. Only you can give yourself peace.

If you can't take nonsense from another person don't get married cos human beings are full of nonsense.

You should see his last two ex-girlfriends. So that you can know who he has been giving his heart to. cheesy

I see. Then in that case, N5K is too small. But 200K is too big, considering it is your birthday. Next year, you would expect something bigger. We should consider what she does for a living, her visa status and country she resides in. Also, how many siblings and extended family members does she have in Nigeria?

Many factors determine someone in the abroad sending money to another in Nigeria.

Would we be this calm if a woman expected 200k from a man abroad because she helped him in the past? I bet we would have a whole new topic on why men do not accept help from women.

The irony of it all, women-women marriages have a similar to higher divorce rates than heterosexual marriages.. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

See women talking as if they themselves are angels? Why do lesbian marriages have similar rates of divorce with the same complaints as heterosexual marriages? All this feminist wave is just wishful thinking, no different from the aggressive vampire booktok.

By the time western society wears off, Islam will take over. I'll see which B2 movement women will follow then.

Women are not talking as if they are angels. Women are saying men should at least leave them alone since we all know women are not angels. Men should marry men too. You should also know gay marriages pack up faster than heterosexual marriages. You didn't use that as an example because it doesn't fit your agenda.

It is has nothing to do with feminism. It is common sense to stay away from affairs concerning an institution you claim not to benefit from.

If 35+ women are unmarried, why are men bothered? Shebi men do not gain from marriage?

Homosexuals typically do not care about societal dogmas. People that could defy homophobia to marry do not care to stay together to please heterosexuals. They leave when they are tired and move to the next one. It is their way of life.

The more heterosexuals attain same state of independence and i-don't care attitude, the more marriages pack up like we are seeing.

Once again, the gender that doesn't benefit from marriage is obsessed with the marital status of (unknown) women.

I do hope no lady reads some posters here and slips into depression. These ones are not the men doing the marrying. Year after year they haven't married any supposed good woman or morning newspaper. But they have a lot to say about unmarried women. Agents of distraction.
