Hello,

My friend is going for an undergraduate degree in Canada. Her parents are her sponsors but she wants to pay her tuition before her application and since her older brother is abroad (USA), it's easier for him to pay the tuition from there.

Will this be a concern for the visa officer as the payment of tution will not reflect in her sponsor's bank statement?

It doesn't matter where and how the tuition payment was carried out. The sponsor (parents) of the applicant should clearly state in the sponsorship letter that he/she was responsible for the first year tuition payment to demonstrate his/her financial commitment towards sponsoring her education in Canada. This is sufficient and in no way affect the credence of her application. Furthermore, include a copy of the tuition receipt to support this information.

That one too follow, even heard some use investment certificate after sponsor's fund. Still 150k for the investment certificate but not sure though cause I never get LOA

Do you've first-hand experience on this matter or is this a mere assertion? Its highly advisable we advise prospective applicants based on facts we have seen works for others. This is to ensure that we don't complicate matters for people.

Please I have a question.

I just renewed my passport but I did my police report in February with my old passport, can I still submit that police report in my application?

What is a gift deed?

You don't have enough money for Proof of Funds and you would have a relation or friend post a bulk sum into your account to cover your proof of funds. You then do a gift deed to somehow "legalize" this transaction so that it doesn't raise eyebrows. This is so your application stands in good shape.

Firstly, you should do a gift deed only if you feel comfortable doing it. IRCC has not explicity required that applicants do a gift deed. It's not present on their website. However, there is evidence to believe some have done gift deeds and successfully obtained their study permit/PR. My guess is that the Visa Officers evaluated each application on its own merit. Therefore, how you package your gift deed in your overall application is more likely to have an effect on how successfully it is evaluated. As far as I can tell, the gift deed idea evolved from the canadavisa site into Nairaland. Nairalanders embraced it and some have used it successfully.

How does a gift deed work?
A friend, family member, etc, sends a bulk amount into your account before you obtain your statement of account. Then you have to draft some sort of "explanation" attributable to this person which effectively assures the VO that the money has been gifted to you for valid reasons.

Can anyone provide you a gift deed or just family members?

Finally, it is unlikely you will find any 100% conviction from anyone to use a gift deed. So, don't start asking the question to death. Use it after you have assessed all these collated opinions above and you become convinced yourself.

Are there alternatives? Yes! You can get the money and put it into some fixed deposit investment, then present the FD. Similarly, you can use it for treasury bills or mutual funds, etc. In summary, there are options. The decision lies with you.

Good luck.

Going for PhD with partial funding.
Submitted my application on Jan 15th with my spouse and two kids.
Got NSE request Feb 2nd and responded same day. Review of additional documents started Feb 5th.
Upfront Medical updated for all on Feb 11.
My Spouse's and one of my Kids eligibility review started same day Feb 11. But my eligibility review is yet to start. I haven't heard from IRCC since the last update. A bit confused.

@Frankrobbn1
@Lekiboboe
@JustMellow
other gurus in the house have you seen someone with similar experience before considering. Thanks in advance.

Kkddyit:

@Frankrobbn1, please help respond to this. Just a bit confused as to how my eligibility hasn't started being the primary applicant and those of my dependents have since started. Thanks

The current update/status of your application shows that the immigration officer is actively working on finalising your spouse and kids application. I have seen a case scenario where the accompanying dependents were the first to be approved before the principal applicant. To all appearances, it reveals that same is about to take place on your application. My professional advice for you is to email IRCC office in Nairobi via email inquiring about the current status of your application and respectfully plea if they require further information/documents from you. This may trigger them to look into your file and expedite processing of your application.

Hi guys,

Please I need advice. got admission to two schools/program and trying to decide which one has the most likely visa approval chance and future prospect in Canada. Payment deadline is due soon and need to choose quickly. The two programs are PgD Finance in NSCC, and PgD Advanced Business Management in University of Winnipeg. Studied finance for undergrad, currently work in a bank, and want to progress in my career. University vs College? Course?

A PGC in Finance from NSCC is the best course of action to show academic advancement.

Generally, police character certificate is not a compulsory document for study visa application to Canada. I would suggest you rather not include it with your application.

You don't need to show proof of funds for the NSE route if you're on a fully funded scholarship scheme. Provide a letter from your supervisor and the scholarship grant letter from the University which corroborates that you've a scholarship.

There is no direct link for the NSE program on the IRCC website. You will be prompted to provide the NSE documents after the submission of your application.

I hope this information satisfies your enquiry.

Actually, despite having full funding, you'll still need to submit your bank statement (or that of a sponsor, preferably a family member) showing POF for your travel and relocation expenses. The VO will no doubt appreciate the fact that you have funded admission offer, but they still want you to show financial evidence that you can afford to pay for your travel expenses, especially considering that your 40k funding isn't deposited in your account already, or is it? Naah!

What engineering course did you apply for? 14th of Jan is quite early. I applied Feb 1 and got admission last week. Application deadline for my programme was April15th.
Jayrealest:

Please how long does it take for one to secure admission at ucal? I applied on d 14th Jan 2021 for masters and no update at all yet since then.

Also on my to-do list only original tanscript request is there. Am I to send my original transcript from my sch even when admission is still in view? Although I already supplied student bcopy during my application. Are they waiting for the transcript to give admission?

Please can u give me the total estimate for the tuition for masters in engineering course based as I have navigated through their website and have only found the fees per course which is not exactly what I wanted.

In a situation where my mum went for Postpartum care in Canada, which is regarded as visitor, which address can I use?

In the IMM family form, is asking for current address. So Is it the address where she is currently or her permanent address here that I should put?

Thanks.

Pls don't say such cos humber gives admission on base on program application rate and first come first serve basis, so it depends on her program and d rate of applications on d program.And fast u provide ur transcript and other documents

The POF the applicant might require will be to cover for other miscellaneous expenses he/she might incur during the of their studies in Canada. The applicant doesn't need to show fat bank statement to demonstrate financial sufficiency given that the program is fully funded by the school/supervisor.
