so my sis migrated to Canada last year, she is currently employed but the cost of rent has upsurged and she kind of needs a roommate so as to help reduce the cost.

What is a gift deed?

You don't have enough money for Proof of Funds and you would have a relation or friend post a bulk sum into your account to cover your proof of funds. You then do a gift deed to somehow "legalize" this transaction so that it doesn't raise eyebrows. This is so your application stands in good shape.

Firstly, you should do a gift deed only if you feel comfortable doing it. IRCC has not explicity required that applicants do a gift deed. It's not present on their website. However, there is evidence to believe some have done gift deeds and successfully obtained their study permit/PR. My guess is that the Visa Officers evaluated each application on its own merit. Therefore, how you package your gift deed in your overall application is more likely to have an effect on how successfully it is evaluated. As far as I can tell, the gift deed idea evolved from the canadavisa site into Nairaland. Nairalanders embraced it and some have used it successfully.

How does a gift deed work?
A friend, family member, etc, sends a bulk amount into your account before you obtain your statement of account. Then you have to draft some sort of "explanation" attributable to this person which effectively assures the VO that the money has been gifted to you for valid reasons.

Can anyone provide you a gift deed or just family members?
https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/162#48166112

Check these links, you'll get the mixed feelings about this famous "deed gift" thing.:

And for at least one person, a bulk of the money entered into her account without a gift deed. No explanations, lol:

If you want to do the deed of gift, here are some formats:

Finally, it is unlikely you will find any 100% conviction from anyone to use a gift deed. So, don't start asking the question to death. Use it after you have assessed all these collated opinions above and you become convinced yourself.

Are there alternatives? Yes! You can get the money and put it into some fixed deposit investment, then present the FD. Similarly, you can use it for treasury bills or mutual funds, etc. In summary, there are options. The decision lies with you.

Good luck.

It will end in praise

Frankrobbn1:

The current update/status of your application shows that the immigration officer is actively working on finalising your spouse and kids application. I have seen a case scenario where the accompanying dependents were the first to be approved before the principal applicant. To all appearances, it reveals that same is about to take place on your application. My professional advice for you is to email IRCC office in Nairobi via email inquiring about the current status of your application and respectfully plea if they require further information/documents from you. This may trigger them to look into your file and expedite processing of your application.

It will end in praise

Thanks you very much Frank. I have just done that.

I started my visa application process since last year August
Have been admitted to a college in canada and have paid part of the school fees So I applied for visa last year December my intention is to apply for study permit but I just observe now that I applied for Temporary resident visa instead of study permit visa.

So have been waiting for the IRCC response since December but I haven't receive their feedback

My question is can my visa be approved even though I didn't applied for study permit visa because I submitted documents for study permit Or do I need to withdraw the application and start afresh?

Please am looking forward to your response

Please I and my wife are in this same predicament now as the account we used to apply for get study permit is a joint account in zenith bank, and we are using the NSE route and can’t get the mybankcertificate, please we would love to know what you did and how you went about it. Thank you very much

You quoted the wrong person, but I believe the message is for me. I got a duly stamped Statement of account from Zenith, and also backed up with their reference letter. In addition to that, my hubby swore an affidavit of support, and also wrote a letter that I have 100% access to the fund in our account.

I hope this helps, may it end in praise for us all in Jesus name, Amen!!!

Hi does Qlife family clinic use e-medicals

skull4eva:
LONG POST ALERT!!!!!

MY APPLICATION FULL TIMELINE.

I applied initially for fall 2020 on July 13th 2020

I ordered for GCMS notes in August and it came 2.49am September 16th the day I was supposed to travel to Lagos to do my Biometrics at VFS. GCMS came as eligibility failed I took courage as a man and went ahead for the biometrics that same day. I brought the GCMS to the gurus in Nairaland and they advised me accordingly. I was denied based on no travel history, Sponsored by third party, Not well established economic situation and family composition, Limited economic and family ties to home country and employment shows moderate earnings.

Sponsor had an account statement of 60k cad CAC, International passport, Contract with government of alberta, tax clearance etc. not same family name though

I also had a statement of account of 3million then. I applied with my wife and son

My program was a PhD at McGill. Gurus advice that I seek funding but I didn’t get initially,

My second application was December 16th 2020

17th December my supervisor did zoom with me and promised funding which later came on the 11th of January (18k CAD in total aside scholarship and teaching assistantship)

I wrote another LOE using the same statement of account of my sponsor (60kCAD) made Him pay my tuition for winter 8700 CAD although he paid twice (6KCAD at the time of application and 2k700 CAD at the time of NSE request)

I also did a gift deed of 4million from my mum to raise my statement of account to 8million

I also dropped my family and use them as home ties attached proof of my car ownership and landed properties of parents. Also because of the gift deed I needed to add my mums payment Voucher and earnings per annum which was around 3.2m.

In my first application I got a study leave from the university where I work although because I was still on contract I didn’t have the opportunity of TETFUND so what I did my second application was to hammer on bond which was attached to the study leave because I will be paid while I am on study and also pointed out the legal implications to my career and my surety which was my dad.

Then I explained why I never travelled and needed to travel at this point in my life pointing out the need to get publications in Q1 rated journals and that the study time is almost the same with this place 5yrs with better facilities and technical knowhow there.

Details of the Timeline for the second application

Admission received: April, 2020

Differed to January 2021 and I Have also differed again to September 2021 due to delayed visa things
School: McGill University, Montreal Quebec
Program : PhD Bioresource Engineering
Application Type : Online
Application Submitted : Dec 16th, 2020 (Did biometrics with my first application)
Got NSE REQUEST on 23rd December 2020 and responded with only MBS as I already submitted my IELTS alongside my application Overall band 7.5

Submitted the NSE REQUEST 8th January 2021 because I had to send it to my broad and friend Frathermathy for review. He and Vibrant 99 also helped go through my SOP and LOE

Medicals: December 22nd, 2020, at Qlife family clinic
Medical updated to passed on 6th January 2021

Confirmation mail of Receipt of NSE documents came 11th January 2021

Got the graduate research assistant offer letter from my supervisor (18k CAD) on 11th January 2021 and sent it through webform and email

Confirmation mail of Receipt of graduate research assistant offer letter from my supervisor mail came 29th January 2021

Submission confirmation mail came on 5th February 2021

BVL Dropped: Feb 24th, 2021

PPR Dropped 8days later 3rd March 2021

Waiting for Passport with visa to Land

Trust God always be prayerful and hopeful. I submitted my sponsors old account statement of Dec 2019 to June 2020 he didn’t print another because I forgot to request it again. Have a mindset that your application cant be perfect but do your best and pray for mercy.

It will end in praises for all PPR hopefuls.
