This country messed up. Southern leaders have no ball. They need to change the electoral laws. We can't keep having huge and uncontrolled population at the expense of development because some regions wana rule for ever. This will not work. The north keep pouring in huge numbers of kids for the sole purpose of ruling for ever while the same huge population remain a huge burden to the country.

Look at the new CBN policy, only kano state is a productive state. Our tax from southern Nigeria is used to share and feed northern nigeria..

I dislike southern leaders. They are too selfish. They make us, productive southerners slaves to dormant North. Our tax is huge. Pls anyone close to southern leaders should tell them to demand for change in election laws. We want to control our birth rate. Many in southern Nigeria are now controlling their birth rate, but northerners are still birthing anyhow for the sole purpose of election. If they don't want to change the election laws, we should divide the country into regions. Simple.

Bros, tax is tax. There different types of tax and they are all tax. Every Nigerian pay value added tax. And that runs into trillions. We don't want to talk about others. Stop justifying something that is not worth it.

Govt does not provide water for Nigerian, we provide our own water. We source for our own electricity. Our fuel is expensive, and we still fuel car, we fuel generators.

Telecom companies spend billions monthly to generate power A-side paying power companies. Same as banks and other companies.

We also pay for our own private securities these days. So the most basic things of govt are not provided to Nigerians. Yet, the same govt does not buy fuel, they use it for free, the same govt does not pay security, they use the ones we collectively maintain, they don't pay for water, it is given freely, they don't pay for feeding, they don't pay for health-care. More tax will never make the govt responsible.

It will not stop govt from shooting protesters. In developed climes, five persons can protest and no one will shoot them. U don't need heaven and earth to protest. U would be killed in Nigeria if u protest. Taxation does not make people protest. The govt needs to create the environment for such.

I'm scared, seems u are Buhari's fan or in govt. Companies are taxed multiple times. At least there are people who are taxed heavily running business today. For instance, in markets, shot owners pay heavily on tax compared to what they make. Why have they not protested for better market infrastructure? I can use Aria ria market in Aba (pardon the spelling) my aunt husband has business there, I know series of tax his company pays, he complains, he is not alone. The tax has not added any value to the market. The market is still in shits. That did not make them to protest.

Nigerians don't protest because among the other reasons I gave u, they don't want to die. I have spoken to many Nigerians who scared of coming out to protest because our police don't use water to handle protests, they use live bullets. I get plenty coded SA friends and naija friends for SA. Yorubad full SA. Some of my Yoruba secondary school mates migrated to SA few years after secodary school and all of them went there to do internet fraud. That is why I laugh when them come here to taunt igbos.

For instance, a certain region will have potentials for certain things but the govt will never give the region the needed infrastructure to excel because of fear of domination.

Also, nigeria practice politics of bitterness and cold war between south west and South east, and North vs south. This can never allow any meaningful development in any country. Nigeria uses federal character and quota system which undermines merit. This can never allow best brains to work in our country. Everything about Nigeria is all about ethnic consideration. Very useless country. If we don't weaken the central govt and allow nations to form their own govt with a central army, we will not grow. In fact, nigeria may become more useless.. For instance, our population is already a problem. Unfortunately, one region feels birth control is bad for their religion and politics. So they give birth any how and cause insecurity for the rest of the country. We now use our scarce resources to fight insecurity in that region. Money we could have used to build quality stadiums and improve our local league which will create more jobs for Nigerians.

Also, a country that lies with her population. In nigeria, population is seen as a tool to get more federal allocation, and rig elections. There is this competition to dominate the central govt instead of competition among states to develop, we compete to dominate central govt. All these can't bring development.. Sadly, the masses don't know anything.. Whatever their leaders tell them, they will do. So, forget it, nigerians will continue to migrate as long as they have refused to team up and wrestle to change the current system of govt. No body won die.

Yea, african leaders need to wake up to their responsibilities. Africans die a lot at the Mediterranean sea due to poor leadership. If the current poor leadership across many african countries are not addressed, migration will continue to happen and it will surely cause issues.
