ednut1:Until another one rises to such levels.... perhaps reaches the top ten in the FIFA rankings. That was the best and most exciting Eagles team ever. This team is just starting out and it is too early to compare.... but the DNA of the great Nigerian soccer teams is there, something that has been tied down all these years under Rohr. The easiest comparison of this team is to the one Keshi led to the AFCON Cup 2013. Why we are so excited and why some have gone overboard in their comparisons and assessment of the team's chances in this tournament is that we have been served an 'anti Nigerian style' for so long, so many years that we are famished for good old Nigerian soccer. We should get our heads out of cloud 9 and face the reality that we were far behind the rest of Africa and need time to get back to lead once again. |
3 Things to note: * Nwakali's set pieces. Best I have seen from the Eagles in a long time. * Semi Ajayi's hyper activity at both ends of the pitch. He should stay in the first team. * Moses Simon.... what more is there to say. He just needs a good trainer and the fellow will go places. |
Teejay13:Their parents should be in cuffs too. |
Na dat Moses Simon dribble wey VAR people dey watch since. |
Who is this fella taking our set pieces. He's very good. Reminds me of a certain bowlegged Red defender at Anfield. |
Magabush1:Oga, why he is saying that is the simple fact of what a wise man calls RISK. Risk assessment in agriculture in this part of the world is stratospheric. Climate change, insecurity, turbulent economy, etc makes the realization of a fixed profit margin highly unlikely. The problem with most of these rudimentary feasibility studies is the total absence of a proper RISK ASSESSMENT. Do that and you will arrive at a more realistic figure. |
SincereBigot:This is the exact attitude that has led to one bad government after the other. People go out to vote then sit back and 'hope'.....that the liars in government will come good.... so daft. Their contemporaries abroad will vote and remain on the streets till their democratic dividends are paid in full. There is no free lunch in the world and you can only get value with diligence no matter what name the business or enterprise is called. |
".... on Saturday...??" |
Talk, talk, talk, talk and yet more talk.... But as long as the talk is amongst themselves, the purpose of democracy remains defeated. They cannot partner with us the citizens to productivity so they have to beg abroad. A total disconnect with those they claim to lead. We still do not understand this thing called democracy. |
Hmmm... and at 29...in this 100 mph league for a high tempo team.... Abeg, I won't be watching his matches. They should just sit his ass down to train the kids. |
.... chai.... here they come again..... peddling ancient fables just like in 2013/14..... to mask the real questions of the day....which is....How will he move thIs country forward, up and out of the mess it is mired in. Stop the beauty contest and let us see substance.... let us hear SOLUTIONS TO OUR PRESSING CHALLENGES.... We just love our sentiment.... but it has not taken us anywhere... |
A whale in the blue pool of Stamford Bridge will be lost in the ocean of the Santiago Bernabeu. Sorry Eden. To be a Galactico is not for mere mortals. |
techmo:So who has made any governance based argument so far. Tell me. |
KillIgbohoN0W:Hahaha..... good one. Worthy of 'Readers Digest".... ![]() |
Realists:Those AK's alone can equip 4, that is four, four military sized divisions. Now, can anyone remind me exactly how many divisions the Nigerian Army has at its disposal.... We are in a serious mess in Nigeria. The illegal, criminal, black state is on the brink of taking over. |
Said it months ago. That he should distance himself from the Buhari regime just as Obama did from the Clinton Presidency to garner public sympathy because that is all the political capital he will get. |
fineboynl:C'mon. The perimeter is less than 100 feet square. With modern robotic drilling and rock cutting CNC equipment the whole thing can be finished in a matter of days. The typical TBM's that carve out subways, storm drains and other underground infrastructure in developed countries can typically do between 50 and a 100 metres of tunneling a day. What is 100 feet. |
Some say it was built with the help of the Crusaders, the Knights Templar of which there were 10 other similar structures representing the eleven tribes of Israel bar the Levites and the Ark of the Covenant is likely hidden in the vaults of the one yet discovered till date ..... if I can get my story straight... ![]() |
If he declares he is certainly heads and shoulders above everyone who has thrown in the hat so far. But the structure of Nigeria as usual will ENSURE we are once again between a rock and a hard place, somewhat hanging on to the so called Devil's Alternative. And if we cannot agree on a set collective values (restructuring) first, we are certainly going to vote in another disappointment in 2023. |
DanseMacabre:Yes, there are and Mr. Novak could have pulled out on medical grounds. Tennis players do so frequently. |
Tennessee85:Indeed. There are all sorts of vaccination requirements for various diseases in all sorts of countries that are mandatory. It is nothing new. What may be innocuous to certain races, nationals and cultures may be a huge challenge to others and where your liberties will end is where their protection starts. These are democracies and the peoples, the citizens have decided through their leaders that they want protection. Why should a single individual think he can have his selfish way. It is a slap on millions of Aussies. He cannot claim he knows better than them or feels what they have gone through these past couple of years with this terrible plague. Very insensitive of him. He should not have bothered to travel. |
ogascomax:This is a blatant lie. Quote the study please. |
RichyAD:The man really stagnated our soccer. Made no meaningful headway post Keshi. Should have gone immediately after Russia 2018 where his shortcomings were ruthlessly and unfortunately exposed. |
iezeiyida:That still ensures we get the bronze medal, draws permitting, which is a reasonable outcome and a good tournament result considering our preparatory circumstances. Such that if we do not lift the trophy it will be because the NFF held onto coach Rohr for far too long and sacked him far too late in the day for us to regain our traditional Nations Cup mojo. |
Who are we likely to face next round. |
Now we have qualified, who are our likely opponents in the next round. |
Wow. What a loss. Great man he was and somewhat a pioneering leader of the Pentecostal movement in Nigeria. |
Tellwhat:Agreed. Glad he is rested. |
GBOKASINCHA:Much sharper than Awoniyi. |
ghettowriter:Excellent player. Solves all our midfielder issues and welds Iwobi's butt to the bench. |
Awoniyi is.not sharp at all. Haven't watched his club form but he is certainly not a box striker. |
I may be entirely wrong. But why do I have this feeling that this post is just a fishing expedition for information about loopholes in various systems. Sometimes the knowledge and experiences shared in some conversations will end up hurting more people than intended. Its a double edged sword. The best way to respond will be to omit specific brand names and institutions and just be generic with information. |
