What kind of nonsense is this. You venture into the business of human abduction and trafficking and you cannot lay down initial capital and investment. They should apply to the CBN for SME loans or float shares on the NSE... Nonsense. Just imagine the degradation in Nigeria. |
MadeMan01:It depends on how the ends/access are designed. Anyway subsurface structures should have dewatering, fire and ventilation systems incorporated into their designs as standard. |
Looks very nice. Well done Kano State. They have very high standards and tastes when it comes to public works. Their architects are alive. |
Hmmm..... is this really resources well expended?. Is there an analytical study to determine the outcome of this program. Is this value for money? That is a lot of money for just one component of teaching, a support component for that matter to just one segment of education in just one part of society. What is the entire budget of the state?? Queer.. |
Morata: Villan > Hero > Villan... just one night.... Hollywood beckons... ![]() |
festacman:No nation ever develops by avoiding its challenges. The challenges of evolving a modern society will ensure best practices. No one will need to tell the peoples or leadership of any clime that it is in their best interest to ensure justice, equity and peace. The Nigeria State as presently constituted and operated is enough example to show how a bad systems affects all. |
And all the police does is to 'confirm' incidents all over the place like some hapless election observers. The system has crashed big time. Great swathes of this country has been rendered ungovernable. |
He has no law enforcement capabilities under his direct control so he can do little but organise civilians who at best can give only intel, no more. As far as security/insecurity is concerned the Nigerian architecture is defective so the structure can only fail. Security is a grassroots business anywhere in the world. Most nations deploy concentric circles of law enforcement starting from the community up to the Federal levels. Nigeria has only one layer, one command, one capability and so it is easily defeated where it does not specialise... at the grassroots. We will suffer and suffer and suffer and suffer until we are ready to cast sentiment aside and restructure this country. |
quentin06:My first salary was N212.78k....then it rose to N242.54. Then you could get a decent car for N5,000 and furnish your house for N3,000. Nigerians lack perpective. It is not the skill associated with the black man. |
Everyone is tired.... just damn fed up. Please if you are enjoying this country.... indicate by raising your hand.... ---you're next in the Examination Room... |
loba18:Structure of Nigeria.... structure. One 'Nigeria' ensures we are all joined hip to hip with the 'owners of Nigeria riding in the caboose. |
kenzysmith:With the size of the Exclusive List, performing governors still have one hand hand tied behind their backs. The day the functions of the Reserve Bank is decentralised is the day the true economic worth of any State or Region can be assessed. Right now no locality can aspire beyond the envelope of the tottering so called federation called Nigeria. The average Lagosian for all the developmental strides of the recent Republic does not command a better standard of living than a peasant in Potiskum. We are all trapped in this economic 'greenhouse'....and it is getting hotter by the minute. |
Desperate times. They are tired of digging graves so they just do the intro. |
Rivers & Cross-Rivers Guvnors?? |
President.... quiet. Vice President.... silent. Presidency....not a word. Federal Security Chiefs.... It appears mass abductions in schools is no longer of deep Federal concern but now a State affair. Shows how much 'progress' we have made since the watershed 'Chibok' event. Shows that as a nation we have learnt scant little. Hopefully we will not degenerate to a situation whereby Local Government officials will be asked to lead the insecurity charge. |
These sort of things will definitely do damage to crypto currencies across board as various governments on the fence will now be persuaded more than ever of the need to regulate. Liberty and responsibility will continue to tango for all time. |
I am sure professional boxing was like this a long while ago before someone thought, 'Hey we ought to have weight divisions so that the little guy can have belts and titles as well'. I am also sure that before that decision the little guy had to take no more than 5 percent. Folks, without restructuring you cannot create the weight divisions to ensure every Nigerian wins, period. |
Had to be done but I simply cannot see how the shockwave from the demolition will not kill anyone still alive under that rubble obviously weakened from days of starvation, thirst and perhaps injuries not to talk of the huge, suffocating dust plume. I think it was just an exercise solely for the safety of search and rescue crews to in all honestly satisfy their consciences that they did all they could to bring closure to grieving families which is entirely commendable in this terribly difficult situation. Engineering errors are always tragic. |
You're unwell and still eating unhealthy food. Nigerians and 'swallow'.... |
Onepeople:Apt. And perhaps the most sensible statement I have read here in a decade. The British left Nigeria in bitterness and handed over a system you expect to work? Nigerians must be nuts. Why will they want you to succeed and so make colonialism look bad. Nigeria bitterly ceded more resources to oil producing communities after years of brickbats. Do Niger-Deltans realistically expect the system accompanying it to work for real development. Will Nigeria honestly permit that section of the country to run away with development at its expense.... wishful thinking. When you buy a TV, phone, automobile, aircraft, excavator... any device or system it comes with factory settings that are basic but only effective when they are reorganised around the needs of the user to make his experiences optimum. This is the process we call restructuring, a lot of Nigerians so hate to hear, but the failure of which has made the British rule justifiable, excusable and even re colonialism attractive and in the case of the Niger-Delta makes the youth sound out that they are perhaps better off without derivation and all the Federal paraphernalia of regional development. The Nigerian has failed to understand that you just do not take what is given to you expecting it to work. This PIB is same. It will not work or work well if it was GIVEN. |
Hathor5:Protect her kids from what exactly. They haven't committed any crime. Or am I missing something here. |
It is the Mexicans I pity. They thought they were coming to watch a contest of a once passionate powerhouse of African football, that won Olympic Gold at the expense of two South American giants right there on American soil.... ....sadly all they could see were figurines of a washed up country that has lost its way in almost every facet of life and declined in every discernible pursuit of excellence and glory. Ask typical Nigerians if they really care about the outcome of this match and it will not even feature on their top 100 regrets of the week. |
Kaylet:They are respected, endeared to because they promote themselves that way with dedication, passion and zeal. |
A society that promotes violence is one pitiably short on ideas. Shows there are no thinkers in positions of authority. This must be the first such practice globally in peacetime.. |
milann:But how can a typical citizen promote a whole league. I think it is a chicken and egg argument at play here. What comes first, an attractive league or loyal 'fanhood'. I have always said this. You can be as patriotic and local contented as regards physical goods and services but when it comes to intellectual property and the performing arts of which sports is loosely bound it is hard, very hard not to be attracted to the very highest standards wherever they are found worldwide. No one can feign patriotism when standards are deliberately kept poor for the benefit of a selfish few and they in turn resist all public pressure to reform and improve them. Before satellite TV God knows I listened to the BBC World Service as did my father and his father before him because they had the highest standards needed by my poor young mind to broaden and deepen knowledge of all things as opposed to local news that still remain the vista of whoever is in power with resulting poor standards and wide spread ignorance. Same as in our sports and league. And I will put it to you. If you do not watch foreign matches, HOW IN THE WORLD WILL YOU REALISE THE STANDARDS YOU SHOULD BE ASPIRING TO. So where do you start the reforms from. The result today simply shows the entrenched failed attitude of selfishness ingrained in those who fight and die to run our sports. Believe me, they know what is right but cannot bring themselves to do what is right and so the chicken breaks the egg of 'fanhood' and the cycle of progress is ended. PS: By the way I personally do not need to watch any of the matches this weekend to appreciate any outcome. Any top half team will surely win at home and any bottom half team will surely lose away or just find out who is not paying players wages and wait for their away matches and cash out, simple. This league is poor, period. |
So Rohr laughs last.....interesting. |
Yes we are gradually closing down schools, factories, research centres and business premises and heading for the farms in the great and noble purge of society. Stalin and Mao will be fist pumping in their graves. This is what we set our ballot to achieve in 2015. A mass return to subsistence living, a cultural revolution setting us back to pre colonialism. The question I will ask you sir. Will your children lead the way back to the farms. Where are their farms?.... In London and Dubai I guess. How can 200 million, 80 millions adults wake up one fateful morning and decide to elect a person whose achievement is sending them to farm. Can a sane person, who is not mad have this kind of vision for his future or that of his children. Look at what citizens of other nations are achieving while this one is desperate to place us at the bottom of all nations on earth. Food constitutes less than 10 percent of the disposable income of nationals of developed countries, some even 5 percent. Here it is 70, 80, 90, even 110 percent. Thus his vision for us is to seek what the world has taken for granted such that it will never add any value to our lives beyond survival. So we live like animals whose only purpose is to eat and procreate. Just imagine what billions have been spent on in the name of elections, to produce such poor quality people in leadership, vision less beings, having not an iota of what a glorious future can be. |
CHoccolaTE:What does he think is responsible for high inflation in agri-produce. Production has fallen off a cliff due to reasons we are all too familiar with but which he closes a blind eye to and pretends does not exist like those they dance to. |
I donot know of anyone who will lay with his wife and sire a child and in the dedication will lift the child up to God Almighty and say, 'Lord make this child a great hustler, survivor, scraper of the bottom of the barrel and dogged tomato farmer'. God created us all to prosper not to survive. Failure is an indicator of a bad system at work, pain is a sign of malady so that society can be checked out and corrected. Even in the most prosperous agricultural communities today they will wish for a better life for their children and grand children. Is that to much to ask from a people empowered to lead. |

Have a blessed Weekend ahead sir.[/quote]And what has been the role of those you have vociferously supported all these years in the face of clear indications of famine and starvation in this country. Someone posts an outrageous bill for poverty level chops and all you can say is 'hustle', 'farm' as if God created man to live a subsistent life of rummaging around like an animal to feed off the land all the days of his life till death. I know it is strategic to a feudal system that poverty is made as widespread as possible so that the peons have no power to challenge whatever system of chains is used to subjugate them but you and your co travellers will come to realise that as a group of so called leaders maltreat their people they weaken the nation and only make it more vulnerable to international, cross border aggression and conquest of which they too will lose out. Just look around you and observe what the youth in other climes deploy their time and resources to do, to advance science and technology, advance the arts and creativity, advance economic strategies and new ways of growing wealth but you are proud to have your fellow citizens scrape for a living and advice them to hustle to keep head above water instead of ejecting those governing them that cannot lead by example or at worst point them in the right direction. Are the children of those you praise on their farms right now cultivating tomatoes or spawning catfish? You have no right to come here and lecture Nigerians on how to live. Just sober up and accept your position as constantly wrong before you lose your conscience completely. |
aribisala0:But if her qualification time is expunged then what is the basis of her participation even if her ban is lifted on time. Doesn't her name automatically drop to the bottom of the list or will another trial be conducted for her specifically and what effect will her participation have on the morale of the team particularly clean athletes denied a place. |
aribisala0:No, I am not giving a judgement call, just an opinion. All drug cheats should be sanctioned in all sports to make for fair play. That is critical to the credibility of the huge enterprise of sports. But what I am saying is that the effects of one single dirty athlete is far more significant to the outcome of individual sport than a team sport. The 100m dash was one of my favourites, the only highlight of the entire Olympics in my opinion back then until the Ben Johnson saga which left a scar in my heart and completely put me off athletics and then stories began to emerge years later that Carl Lewis, Ben Johnson and other storied names were not entirely clean and you just sit and wonder at the deception. Today a race is run and then you have to wait for the mother of all VAR calls to be sure someone you cheered is still champion days, weeks, months or even years later and that his titles and medals can be vanquished even after his death is just off putting for me. Sorry, my Olympics will be about team sports, the soccer, basketball, volleyball and one or two other, but athletics, cycling, swimming, weightlifting, forget it. They are practically all on drugs awaiting VAR. |
