Bellotelli:That is what we talk about precedents and setting the bad ones up to become lawful of sorts. If the National assembly missed the opportunity of vetting that Commissioner out in its nascent years of 2011, should a more enlightened body be making the same mistakes a decade later. Shows we are not making progress and indicates that in another ten years we will probably be in the same spot instead of having established a 'practice' of doing the right thing and getting neutrality in our political arbitration. Just sad. It shows this government has not come to improve things but to take its own pound of flesh. Next time we should get people in who are determined to leave our institutions better than the met them, not the same or even in worse shape. |
How many times have we said this administration sacrifices institutions on the altar of personal interests. Time and again this government personalises activities of state to such destructive degrees you just wonder what the exact objectives are, institutions that history has repeatedly proved they themselves will need in time of trouble. I just cannot understand the shortsightedness of those at the helm of affairs. These recurring sad precedents are basically the reasons why Nigeria has stagnated and is now on a reverse slide down the hill of nationhood. |
We will always say the 'State of the Nation' is the barometer for assessing the quality of leadership. Your family, household, community, state, region or the country at large cannot be in disarray and the leadership of those entities is exonerated for the state of affairs therein. Because that is what you are elected or appointed to do. To organise progress in an atmosphere of peace. So it does not matter your preferences, vision or objectives, it is incumbent on leadership to 'organise society properly and not to his whims and caprices alone. This President has not been up to the challenges facing Nigeria, so says practically all the the indices of life and living. |
Birikiti:Same here. That match I think ranks in my top five most painful matches of all time. Absolutely loathed the Italian national team since then. They seem to have this uncanny ability to absolutely steal matches from favourites and better resourced teams with the famous bandit in the team. By bandit I mean a player of no prior repute but on that given day takes the match by storm, blitz the opposing team and delivers the trophy. Paolo Rossi was such a player in 1982 and Salvatore 'Toto' Schillaci in 1990. Though this tournament was a team event another player on the fringes and one Roberto Mancini nearly tore his hair out about, Federico Chiesa almost became another bandido with scintillating plays right up to the finals against England. You just love to hate Italy. They strive to win by ALL means, fair and foul and always punch above their pedigree. |
Exactly what I said about this matter the last time this issue was mentioned a few days ago. That there was no outstanding player this tournament when folks were mouthing off about Sterling and Kane. For a goalie to get it shows no out field player stood head and shoulders above others. This tournament was a 'Team' event. Great team displays from back to front amongst the very best with Italy as an example. The all won and lost together. That is why the standards of this Euros was generally very high. |
Livelystone01:He should view the match stats. I too thought it was an was an evenly matched melee and was bored to death for most parts, But the post match stats were a shocking read and revealed Italy out-posessed, out-gunned and out-passed the English. Even total distance travelled showed the Italians ahead though their average age was considerably higher. Shows they worked much harder for the victory. |
Maobichek:And a 20 to 1 attempt on goal I think. Saw the shocking stats later. |
Emilo:No he was not. Technically deficient. Breaks up too many fluid forward moves. Just lucky Spinazzola got injured. |
English blacks will really need to kneel down, not to protest but to beg 'white' England. |
Angelfrost:Nearly slept off. 'Battle 360' on the History Channel has been keeping me awake. |
Equal teams. Anyone who wins it doesn't really deserve it. Poor quality match. Not the best either Englamd or Italy has played all tournament. |
orazx:A lot of clergymen and women have passed away over the course of the past year and for many years. How many occasions has the Synagogue Ministry or the late Pastor Joshua been represented openly. Remember relationships go both ways. Benefits and obligations are a two way street. I think instead of just trying to cook up a storm and cease the moment to cheap shoot the body of Christ it is better to understand the factual situation of things and view in proper context whether there is any reason to be concerned about this matter. |
The man and his Ministry operated in isolation while he was still alive and right from the outset. I cannot recollect him attending functions outside his sphere of influence, joining CAN in their numerous battles with and on behalf of the Christian Political Face, etc. If people do not understand you in life, how will they understand you in death. People often talk about origins, pathways and associations. These things are important. The Christian faith is based on relationships. We are called sons, daughters, fathers and mothers, children of God so everyone comes from somewhere and identifies with a spiritual lineage. All of these folks accused of not associating with him have associations with each other be it in the Orthodox or Pentecostal fellowships. Why is the late Mr. Joshua's case different. Something was obviously not normal in the way he lived his life and ran his Ministry. |
And his primitive counterparts here in government vowing not to obey court orders.... and calling themselves law enforcement officers.... you just wonder the kind of cloth we Africans are cut from.... or the force field of disarray running through this continent. |
Wow. That suturing is terrible. Nigerian clinics and medics must raise their game. Long time since I've seen such crudity.... and that was battle simulation field accident in the 80's. The world has progressed through staples and onto surgical glue for some of these terrible lacerations. |
If an altercation occurs and his officers suffer as a result which court will they then go to seek redress. What these people basically don't know is that if you disobey the law you lose the power to enforce laws. You hand over your authority to the public. They are supposed to be law 'enforcement' officers. When the law loses its power so do they. They have nothing to enforce. The knowledgeable public will just be rubbing their hands in glee waiting to exact vengeance or making hay with 'powerless officials'. What Nigeria does not have are forums and mechanisms where law enforcement and the Judiciary meet under the supervision of the Legislature to balance and smoothen out areas of dispute to enhance the criminal justice system as a whole. They should be partners in ensuring society functions properly and the dynamic between jurisprudence and civil liberties requires a fluid media to keep an even keel constantly. |
HEAVEN4444:No serious punter bets on the finals of any tournament. On the matter at hand, it will be difficult to call. This tournament has been a 'Team' affair. Most teams have risen to the occasion or fallen together. There has not been a player consistently better than either his team mates or opposing team players throughout the tournament. That is why there has been an above average number of matches going to extra time and penalties. On another day it could easily have been a Spain/Denmark finals or a Belgium/France finals. Such has been the close performances between the elite teams and elite players both in forward play and defence. Perhaps the referees should get the nod. They have been outstanding and commanded contests to the highest levels I have seen in any tournament I have watched since the 1982 World Cup in Spain. |
HURIWA the propaganda arm of IPOB don't know the meaning/or work of Finance Ministry... HURIWA should face how to save their Lord and savior Nnamdi
Agree completely with you. We need more loans.....more....more....more... ![]() |
None of our business. We are building a war chest for a massive run against the Naira and we badly need the goverment's double whammy of more fuel price increases and/or more loans. We know how it will all end. |
Teewhy2:Next time you go visit a doctor may the plumber attend to you because he has 15 years working in the hospital since qualifications donot matter. Can you imagine how a human being thinks. Awful, base mentality. Please, close down your membership as it is NOT QUALIFIED to respond to basic matters. |
That's a good development and I hope it creates a duopoly in Abia. That State badly needs to diversify its polity to ensure democracy works properly. |
Yep. Everywhere in public even though I have taken my two shots of Astra-Zeneca. That is the standard of the WHO, my guideline and best practice. Why should I get irritated by my right to life. Everyone hss a right to live ir choose the way he dies. This virus is still not fully understood and the long term prognosis remains uncertain. Why should I roll the dice. |
As long as it is not improving the outlook of Nigeria... what is the point. Shallow man. |
Chachamiliano:Yeah. He has evolved to become a big game player. |
The key will be the fitness of the pair of Italian full backs. Their form and experience is without question, their fitness..... |
Ttalk:So if they can afford generators why can't they afford electricity bills. Does this make sense to you. A lot of load shedding is because people are not paying bills and a lot of power is stolen. That is the reality. Power is not evenly distributed across the nation. It is assuming locations of affordability just like what happened with the GSM network. 30k MW is left un-invested because THERE IS NO MARKET. Go to your local DISCO and demand a dedicated line or transformer with assurances of regular payment and they will rush you. They are looking for money, they have the electricity if you can pay. That is the truth. With the exception of systems collapses there are places in Nigeria today that have almost 24hrs power steady. But they are not a reflection of the overall economy and are not enough to sustain or spur the energy industry. |
Kastonkastroll:Two out of three prepaid meters I have information on are bypassed despite DISCOS random checks. People are stealing electricity on a massive scale. Forget that thing. Poverty breeds crime. |
omohayek:Because the bulk of Nigerians are not doing enough to earn the resources to pay these high tariffs. It is vicious cycle. Electricity today is like forcing the average farmer to use a tractor or combined harvester when he has only one plot to cultivate and he intends to bag only two bushels of corn. Do you want to kill him? It is a structural issue. The Nigerian economy is not geared towards unleashing Nigerians to work. |
'....On their part, the distributors had argued that TCN was dropping electricity load in locations where it was tough for Discos to recoup their tariffs, as residents in such areas found it difficult to pay their electricity bills....' '....There are 124 power generation companies, majorly thermals – firms that use gas, that are just watching on the sideline, watching when the market gets serious before coming in,” Ogaji stated. She added, “Their licences, a cumulative and aggregated number, will give us another 30,000MW if they were actively involved....' This is just the summary of Nigeria's power challenges and by extension our developmental outlook. Nigerians are just too poor to trigger the productivity that will in turn unshackle her from the barrel of this mono economy. When folks always proclaim this popular error saying, '...just give us stable power and Nigeria(ns) will prosper...', I have always laughed at the lie. It is just like saying the reason why I have not prospered is because I do not have a sponsor or venture capital. The truth is that productivity or creativity attracts empowerment anywhere, any day. An economy that is potentially productive will attract power investment and will attract energy infrastructure. The reasons why we are stuck in this vicious cycle has more to do with the structure of the Nigerian economy that is NOT focused on productivity but is rent seeking, mercantile and a contractors paradise. People who really make things that are key to productivity will absorb the cost of that productivity without issues. The bulk of Nigerians on the other hand simply are not productive enough to make use of more than 4,000 megawatts, Period. |
donbachi:That is the power of liberty. When government is in charge of EVERYTHING, the people abide in chains. |
BrutusOj:They were better but not far better. I think your view itself comes straight from Buckingham palace. That 'they could score more goals...?*!!&??*!! ...so why didn't they. Cos they did not score today. The equaliser was an own goal and the pen...?*!!&??*!! |
The English team was exposed a lot today even though the Danes looked completely spent for most of the game running on fumes. Should be an entertaining final from two attacking teams that are not prepared to caress the ball and bore us with possession stats. The key in my opinion will be the fitness of the two aged full backs for the Azzuris. |
