No one is shamed enough to resign.... no one is responsible enough to fire irresponsibility,...
Nigeria is always the victim of abuse.

Is there anything working in Nigeria beyond trains....
Can this government boast of success in anything else....

zendi:
Both sides coordinated their advances. Hitler was the definition of biting more than you can chew. If Germany had not invaded Russia, and Japan had not attacked America, it's arguable the entire Western Europe would have become German territory; France, Britain and all.

The Russians were the nearest to capturing Hitler. He and his girlfriend committed suicide under a hell of incoming Russian shelling.
You are partially right but like others equally wrong.
Germany was defeated by ALL its enemies, the enemies it multiplied for itself by seeking to expand too rapidly and tearing up agreements and peace accords it held first with Britain and then Russia and then China. It made enemies with too many nations at the same time.

Now the summary is this:

Before 1941, Germany had the largest Air force which it used effectively in the invasions of Poland, the Low countries of Holland and Belgium, then the Nordics, south Europe before reaching the coast of France. It then struck out across the Channel with its air force to cripple UK defences before the invasion but lost more or less its entire air capacity in that invasion and abandoned thaise plans turning instead east to attack Russia with the aim of capturing the southern oil fields and mineral resources of the inner Caucasus.

This is where it lost the war. It had no air force to back up its armoured invasion the way it did in wester Europe leaving its army to fight a much superior number and resourced Russian land force which had concentrated west once Japan failed in the attack their eastern flank thus and betraying Hitler's plan to divide Russia's armies.

So you can say that without the UK destroying Germany's Air force and Russia destroying the bulk of Germany's Armoured forces, the war will not have been won. In the end all the allied forces contributed to Hitler's fall wit the dictator himself shooting himself in the foot by poor strategic decisions. No one country alone could have successfully taken on the German military as at 1941.

This is not good news for this country and its fight against international fraud which has tarnished its image in the world of business and commerce.

This is not good news for this government and its mantra an anti-corruption regime.

This is not good news for this government coming at a time the US Congress is resisting the sale of weaponry and military and security gear to Nigeria.

This is not good news to the government that has just extradited a long running fugitive and seeks to bring home another only to see one of its shinning lights requested for extradition.

The government should just cut him loose abeg and ship his corrupt ar.se off to California. We have more than enough problems in Nigeria and no room to start a criminal justice war with the USA.

The ignorant in this government are now realising the huge cost of starting needless anti-social and insecurity fires all over Nigeria out of sentiment, useless pride and misplaced bravado.

Where are those who say that government cannot be fought. See the cost to Nigeria of senseless governance. Insecurity everywhere and the security infrastructure stretched to breaking point.

Does this government look to be in charge of or in control of anything....

Does it not make better sense to negotiate out of agitations, convert insurgencies to mere criminality and ensure justice for all rather than fighting almost all your citizens and militarizing your country then wondering why your economy has collapsed.

Just poor governance all round. Wasted tenure.

Politics › Re: Femi Adesina: Buhari Will Tackle All Our Challenges Before Leaving Office by Reference(m): 7:26am On Jul 28, 2021
As I said in 2014/15, that at the end of this administration the only thing we will see are a few roads, bridges and rail lines. That nothing about Nigeria will fundamentally change.

That without restructuring nothing fundamentally will improve with Nigeria.

Six years later, wither Nigeria... so predictable...

With time those roads will develop potholes, those bridges will wear out, and with the way Nigeria is run those trains will pack up (we had trains before. I rode them in my youth, so trains in Nigeria is nothing new).

So the relatively miniscule legacy of this government cannot stand the test of time. What they should have focused on, what will have changed this country for good forever and written this goverment in gold has been totally ignored.

As a matter of fact, this government more that any other has been the champion protectors of all that is wrong with Nigeria structurally, so they have spent all their time, resources and energy paddling up the creek of the status quo.

amazingspiderma:
APC did not wreck Nigeria, it was the decision of Nigeria during the election that is wrecking havoc.

Just like the devil did not wreck humanity, it was the decision of disobedience by Eve and Adam.

Bad decision leads to bad consequences.

Nigerians should learn to stop separating their decision from it's consequences.
Decisions and consequences go hand in hand.
Very few comments meet with the wisdom contained in the post above.
That is just the truth.
Poor quality citizens breed poor quality leaders which cause poor quality experiences.
The egg cannot be exonerated from the bird it produces.

And as 2023 comes round, if the voices we hear on this forum represents the decisions to be taken at the polls and consequently the leadership that will be elected, I can boldly say it is safe to bet against the progress of this country in everything from its currency, to its economy and perhaps its security.

We re just not learning anything from what we experience right now.

Christianity Etc › Re: Have You Ever Considered Paying Tithes To Those Who Need Help? by Reference(m): 12:34pm On Jul 25, 2021
They won't Tithe. They are waiting for God to come down and pay the security man and drivers and pay PHCN bills and service the musical instrument and pay government levies...

Then what does God bless you for if you cannot care for His church. If the government of the Almighty is not your responsibility then whose then, Caesar's?.

When the Federal Government of Nigeria comes for their taxes we should all refuse and tell them we rather donate it to the poor aferall is poverty alleviation not government responsibility.

Then let us sit back and see how Nigeria will be run as independent from her creditors.

Anyone who does not tithe and generates a critical mass of followers within his church will see the church fold up in time. That is a given. No doubt. The world is burning like an oven and will become worse. Only those prepared to do what is right will survive.

In as much you never handed your tax to the needy, this op needs spiritual diagnose.

Tithes, like tax, is statutory and must be paid and you are just decieved to think that giving it to the needy frees you the obligation. If for exigency, you did, like tax, it remains unpaid.

BTW, how many of you guys have been moved to give your school fees to the poor and later refuse to meet up paying the school fee?
So-so belial generation
What most of them donot fundamentally realise is that the future of the church their churches is dependent on the faith they are prepared to exercise.

There are countries, nations where the church was once vibrant but the satanic deception of selfishness has turned those churches into museums, libraries, supermarkets and playgrounds today.

Nations that once had sizable Christian populations have been hollowed out and have now become bedrocks of other religions because of the laxity within the church. Like the Bible said. They have all gone out to feather their own nests leaving His house is squalor so they rented to Satan.

Even within Nigeria. Look at the churches that were once vibrant but are now a shadow of themselves and observe an abundance of the 'wise', the crafty and the congregation of the 'smart' who are waiting for manna from heaven while they keep substance beyond their needs.

When you divert what belongs to God and stop giving all together and bills cannot be paid and His church closes down perhaps it is the poor that will preach the Word and lead men to salvation....

The grace will merely move to other mountains where people seek Him in faith.
Christianity Etc › Re: Have You Ever Considered Paying Tithes To Those Who Need Help? by Reference(m): 11:41am On Jul 25, 2021
That is not called tithe. Tithe is the Biblical name for taxation in the Kingdom of God. It is statutory, mandatory and has a rate that not changed for generations.

Jesus Christ said you should give onto God what is God's. What is God's ahould not be given for any other purpose.

In the church age the Tithe is to be collected by the priests, ministers and its purpose is to provide for the church, primarily so it can be established, grow and so that ministers are focused on spiritual things having tjeor mayerials needs taken care of.

You donot take what belongs to Caesar to distribute to the poor or needy. Caesar is bound to send you to jail. Why should you divert what belongs to God.

God has expressly commanded the poor to be cared for by those who are generous and He is a rewarded to them as if lending onto Him.

There is order in the Kingdom of God.

A country without a convertible, independent and market driven currency has no business going digital.
The CBN should prove its liberty from the whims and caprices of ASO Rock first.
We cannot have someone coughing there and destroying the productivity of honest, hardworking investors.

Today anyone who is interested in surviving this badly managed economy is moving assets and resources as far away from the influence of this government as possible.
Travel › Re: Port Harcourt Monorail: Multi Billion Naira Project 6yrs After: Pictures & Video by Reference(m): 8:22pm On Jul 23, 2021
It was a strategic error not advancing the rail project. For all it is worth, the problem is not the project but the administration. In this I give credit to the Buhari led Federal Government in that they advanced and completed a lot of projects inherited from the PDP government some of which were badly administered and shrouded in corruption. They pressed on warts and all.

We must find a way to effect a continuum in project delivery across governments if we are to develop as a nation no matter how badly these projects were hitherto administered. If not we will fall to the temptation of tunnel vision and short term projects which in most cases do not address critical issues or spur real development.

I am certain if Wike had deployed his infrastructural budget to advancing this rail line instead of those flyovers along the PHC/ABA highway at least a section will have been functional by now to provide a lasting solution to the road congestion. Rail lines anywhere in the world are the go-to solutions for urban mobility.

Nigerians are quick to associate with success but if it's the other way round, they'd be silent.

This is someone who was neither born nor bred in Nigeria; his father was born in Nigeria. According to the article, he only visits Nigeria twice.

Great achievement for him.
But Nigeria is also offering a platform and an opportunity to be an Olympian, something he may never have achieved with the States, so it is a symbiotic relationship for a lot of sportsmen and women.

Listened to him this morning speak about the whole thing. Humble guy. Just wishing him the best.

If we were sensible in this country, we should hold him up as a matchstick to ignite interest in other sporting events.
