flokii:If you must take the IGR, you must take the responsibility too. Cannot run a poultry without shovelling s.hit. |
Hmmm..... my only concern is about the Dangote Refinery. We donot want flood water getting near the power generating plants. Cannot afford a Chernobyl on the Peninsula. |
NwaNimo1:Hahahaha..... ![]() |
I repeat again. By June 2023, Nigerians will have nothing on Mr. Buhari and anyone in his cabinet today. Blaming him then will be as tragic as reading the label after drinking poison. The time to act is when you have influence and when he/they can be influenced. It is now. |
That is why they fought tooth and nail to remove the last Senate and instal one that will give them a free pass to the treasury. At least the last one will have put up an stiff fight and delay these loans till the economy can recover, but at a point the economy is weakest it is being hit harder. Today all we see is a list of projects to be executed the details courtesy of a moribund Legislature remain unknown. Such that if the Federal Government is taking these loans on our behalf for our development at least we should debate them to determine their necessity or efficiency. If I arrive at an emergency room conscious the doctor is obliged to inform me of the actions he intends to take to save my life and together with my next of kin agree to which procedure is best applicable. People explain things to those THEY SERVE. It is mandatory. It is how democracies work. It is best practice. Critical issues are debated by all stakeholders of which the citizenry is the principal. It is us who will repay these loans, suffer the consequences, or enjoy the benefits. But can an average citizen who is already suffering the ill effects of outrageous interest payments today say in detail what these additional loans are taken for, not to talk of having a say as to whether the benefits outweigh the potential worsening situation to come? They know that there is a vocal mass of people out there who are just filled with sentiment, too ignorant to understand democracy and too careless to appreciate the responsibility of holding those they have employed and entrusted to care for them accountable. For how can one employ a servant he cannot control, cannot demand accountability from or cannot direct. How do you agree to pay such a person and surrender the keys of your property to him/them. At the end of the day employees/politicians will come and go. It is the business owner, the stakeholders that will be left with the consequences. In two years the blame on Mr. Buhari and his government will (have to) cease. It is us that will be left with the mess. The time to act is when they are in power. Now. Nigerians should wake up from their sentiment and start asking this government serious questions. I repeat. In working democracies the people drive government, drive policies, drive agendas and regulate actions. There the dog wags the tail. |
And boy do those turbines love to go moribund when not in use. The day gas eventually gets there two things will happen. The equipment will have corroded, and that whatever is left will be vandalised. Another NNPC Refineries tragic comedy is at hand. If those things belonged to a proper business entity.... |
Hahahaha.... what did I say. Only in Nigeria. |
China's turn. The French, British, Soviets and American's have tried. |
It took FG one whole year to reconstruct Enugu 3km runway, while Anambra built airport city with 3.7km runway, tallest control tower in Nigeria, dual carriageway with two bridges and two internal roads under one year
That is why we keep on clamouring for restructuring. The simple answer to your question statement is: He who needs it works it. And this applies to economies, security, education, everything. Let people determine the local direction, impetus and metrics by which they want to develop so that they elect folks whose allegiances are to them not to centrally controlled power. That is what I was talking about the terrible state of the Calabar- Itu highway and some folks here were talking rubbish. There is no way the governor will have been able to sleep with his two eyes closed if it was his responsibility, but with our structure he can hide because repairing it is optional. Meanwhile those responsible are too far away to hear the cries or feel the stones of angst raining down on them. Folks, the biggest problem facing Nigeria today is Structure. Sort that out and 99 percent of challenges facing Nigeria will die down instantly. |
Betrand3:Yes, there is a Federal Bill coming for that. |
When people refuse to get vaccinated. Actions or in actions as in this case has consequences. This is the connection between sentiment and poverty, sentiment and poor education, sentiment and societal decay. And boy, do Nigerians love their sentiment. So we must enjoy the suffering. |
Callisto1:Like you read further. Expect the outbreak of civil war next season. The last has not been heard of the break out league. The gloves are off. |
He also said a lot of unprintable things about Raul Gonzalez and Iker Cassilas. Some one has been warehousing his dirt for years now and is now cashing out on his skeletons. There are speculations it was a blow back for his role in the 'Super League' brouhaha. Soccer at those dizzy economic heights is a cesspit of sleaze. Ceferin looks like a gangster. |
Whenever I see these kinds of scenarios all I think about is the huge opportunity they create for the investor who will do the right thing and promote best practices. Those who will approach the business in a cerebral and ethical manner. The present bad practices are merely advertising, creating opportunity the better ones that will follow. |
More information on the project required. Looks good though. Wish they can develop a land based equivalent to aid in the anti-banditry campaigns. |
KosiGee:That is not a structural crack. The direction does not run to signify that. It is probably a seam line between concrete pours which in itself is not best practice. |
Good one from that State. That place really needs it. Next should be one along the Enugu-Abakaliki highway at the.... Junction..... someone should remind me here. That place is always in gridlock particularly at rush hour due to the intersection. |
M Simeonjoe1:That is why the US has started deploying space based weapons systems. Surely you are aware of that. As long as you cannot attain the speed of light the new generations of laser armed satellites the new space command is assembling. |
Crazy people. When will they develop or make anything that has a positive impact on humanity. All they contribute when they are not hacking corporations round the world or poisoning critics is making record breaking destructive devices. Even attempts at making a worthwhile vaccine to save themselves from pestilence falls back to earth and burns up in re-entry like the Sputniks of the 50's and 60's. |
okoolori:No sir. The blame attributed to the centre for everything, to the President for every wrong we see today will abate. More power means more responsibility and people will put pressure on their governors whom they elect without sentiment. |
Totally agree. And I cannot wait for the day the Central Bank of Nigeria will be decentralised as well to enable States or Regions or whatever fully control their economies such that with the tools of monetary policy we can appreciate who is really performing. That will truly be the death knell to mediocrity in office. Too many pretenders to office and ignoramuses masquerading as citizens are hiding under collective patrimony. Restructure and everyone will be clearly responsible for the mess they elect. |
Really terrible acts of prejudice reported all over but to be honest it was expected. For a nation to be let down at its finest hour in such cruel circumstances was just taunting the devils of racism. Many, will have fallen. It is certain that is both high and low places many closet doors will have been shut behind and heads banged against walls in sheer anguish, cursing the days of foreign conquests, slavery and the inevitable assimilation of aliens into their once great empire. God save the Queen. Saka.... elections have consequences. |
wenenike:Actually I've been hearing about it since the OBJ regime. Can't say to the degree with which the rubber met the road. |
This will be one of the most significant engineering projects to date in the chequered history of that Nigeria state. |
Yet another low....pun intended... ![]() |
Heard that some folks got to the office by 11 am.... what's the point. The only solution to that place is a Yaradua/Airport Road/Kubwa type of 8+4 lane expressway with a huge ditch between the causeway and service lane all the way to Keffi or else that place will continue to remain nonviable for sensible living. |
Dogasas:Most folks responding cannot read between the lines. As a foreigner, an alien, a tourist, Nigeria is not an easy place to live. The places should become more accessible and the people more attractive. |
IamGreen1:He played for Nigeria at age cadre level and needed a special exemption from FIBA to represent the States years later. |
Nicklaus619:The French have nothing on fashion, just personal care. They are more known for F & B.... good dining and of course.,.. after hours under the moonlight... |
Vickyvice:That is not a healthy weight to carry around like seriously and the last picture just illustrates my frequent criticism of our dietary habits. Just look at the huge plate of 'swallow' before him. That is a dish of concentrated calories someone of that weight and health status cannot hope to burn off. We should be wary of our health and make the necessary sacrifices to ensure we attain the minimum life expectancy. RIP to the fellow and much condolences to his family and loved ones. |
When you want to fit a square peg in a round hole you either damage the peg or the hole. When you personalise government this is what you get. In sane climes the position and responsibility comes before the person. In Nigeria Tom cruise is a molecular biologist today and a development economist tomorrow. Nigeria is akin to a movie set. |
Good idea that I brought forward the date of my second dose. With this new variant I will consider whether I need a third dose in the next month as soon as the second dose is fully active and my system has fully adapted. |
