The personalisation of government in true color. |
Everything has a 'sell by..' date. Pity Barcelona cannot realise this, putting individual interests above team progress. You are broke yet drving a rickety, old Rolls Royce... |
Yes. |
The original owners should not be permitted to bid. They have comitted a felony so should be disqualified automatically. If not their vehicles should not have been confiscated in the first place and fines imposed instead. The penalty is either a deterrent or not. |
Srillanka:Best President...?*#?!*?...hmmm, another vox populi...the kind bandied about before 2015...na so. |
AnanseK:Peace anywhere is the world is not given. It is negotiated for constantly by bickering parties. There is nowhere in the world that is peaceful of its own accord without people constantly engaging themselves positively around a table. I have gained this saying for decades now. And it goes like this. 'Relationships only exist peacefully when one party is willing to bend down and take it up the arse for the othe'r (pardon my expressions). No relationship anywhere in any field of endseavour is ever always equitable. One party at any point will be short changed. What makes relationships successful is the desire by all parties to exchange the stresses required to keep a lasting equilibrium. So peace has to be negotiated constantly. Those who are cerebral know what this means. Nigerians find it hard to speak to one another and exchange stresses. Our structure has created a nation of zero sum existence. Whatever gained is gained permanently and whoever loses losers ultimately. And we expect peace to abide. How is that possible. But sit down to restructure (negotiate for equilibrium) and we say no. |
Where is the Standards Organisation of Nigeria when you need them.... |
Hmmm....Mrs Iweala, resist the bad black gene and look forward please. You have fought the good fight and obtained the prize, now focus on making lemonade. Nothing of value comes easy. |
Perfectsouth:You are advocating violence. Your presentation contains no mention whatsoever of dialogue all these so called years of tolerance. That is failure at individual, community and regional levels, failure by citizens and government alike. Once dialogue is absent or breaks down for any considerable time, violence will surely erupt because disputes are human nature. Quite frankly through this whole sad incident there have been very few cerebral responses and outlooks across board. This portends nothing but underdevelopment, poverty and despondency going forward. Nobody is winning anything here. Stop the threats against fellow citizens and dialogue. |
What is your biz with all this. No insurance? |
Angelfrost:Yeah. And those are the kind of matches he should grab with both hands to dazzle because quite frankly Juventus could do with a better strike option to bolster the aging Ronaldo and average Morata. Well managed players mark certain matches in their calendars and do everything possible to peak when such curtains rise. |
etibaba:Fantastic. Great potentials for the Eagles then. |
When we say restructure they play the ostrich and those bold enough to keep their heads out of the sand say corruption is the problem with Nigeria. Unable, not brilliant enough to sense the facts, they crash from one ledge to the other as they tumble into the ravine of destruction. If Nigerians cannot sit round a table and negotiate out common values and aspirations then this country has no future, simple. I do not care who you are or what you claim. Without restructuring Nigeria is gone. The government can kick the can down the road all it likes. With every passing day thousands are born into this country of increasingly smaller space, to feed off increasingly worthless resources while taking increasingly polarised ethno-religious positions. This is a highly toxic and highly combustible scenario. Doing nothing to diffuse it will only result in a bigger boom the day it all goes up. |
DesignAndBuild:Osimen has issues beyond injury. His off-fields are not helping. |
They were both tap-ins, nothing exciting yet. The Tosin chap in defense was much more significant... if he is a Nigerian. |
Hopefully he can leave for PSG in the summer. Absolutely deserves a bigger club. |
Everyone is fed up with the poor state of governance at the centre. No impetus, no direction, no inspiration, no authority, no fidelity....just railway, the only achievement, the only dividend of 8 years of citizen fortitude. |
FIDELITY24:Just poor governance. They shut up all the skilled folks around them and order the 'yes men' into the drivers seat. |
Good morning to them. Poor governance everywhere. They are tired of threatening their antagonists. |
They now know the eyes of the world is now on them and in this age of growing enlightenment tjeor actions will have grave consequences long after the unfortunate acts. Their paymasters also know that their political fortunes are tied to their public activities and these kinds of actions they order have consequences. I will say that we are getting somewhere. |
Vardanes2:Exactly. They are all protecting their little fiefdoms while everything else around them falls apart. Nigeria can go to blazes for all they care. That is the summary of this country from tip to toe. |
Nasir123:Mr. Buhari is not the problem besetting Nigeria today but he is not helping and I mean at all. |
Reference:Everyone giving everyone else ultimatums. Where are the sane heads here to tell each interest group that they will each not get everything they want and that nations are built by everyone contributing his quota and making sacrifices evenly across board. Where are the real nationalists who can see through the tunnel of ethno-religious sentiment....none. Just selfishness and greed by all, mindlessness in authority and ignorance on the streets. Few are thinking aright. What is wrong with the black man. |
Kingdemu:Violence is the product of a failure of communication between diverse interests in any relationship be it between spouses, business partners or ethnic nationalities. Why can't Nigerians simply sit down round a table and negotiate our their differences and find common grounds on their interests. Why have we found ourselves in a sitiatuon whereby we tolerate the deliberate weakening and discrediting of the Legislature. Why can't this country be restructured to keep her on an even keel. How many more people must die, be sacrificed to the gods of discord and division. |
Asabe4:The government is too weak because it is not trusted and perceived to be sectional. Trust is the most important asset of government. If a government cannot be trusted it cannot gain cooperation and is thus a lame duck no matter the resources it has at its disposal. Governance will always be a game of numbers. |
I have said it countless times. A time is coming when those who today pretend Nigeria is alright and those before them who resisted every dedire for true, fundamental change will beg for restructuring and seek it with trepidation and tears but alas it will be too late to save Nigeria. Those who choose to play the ostrich saying corruption is the only problem besetting Nigeria and 're-allocation of resources is the silver bullet should understand that Nigeria means different things to different people and some are well prepared for all or nothing, a dangerous zero sum game that can completely ash this country. Let us continue the pretense and not get talking like yesterday. |
The pressure is firmly on the Democrats now and the Biden presidency specifically. Every bump in the road will now be attributed to him and once his electoral capital begins to ebb you will begin to see everyone from pollsters to statisticians pull up his picture side by side with Trumps. I think the Democrats over reacted and took this thing too far. They should have let the final say to the citizens instead of the Legislature. When you whip up a storm just make sure it blows in the right direction...but what is my business.... their problems are antlike compared to the monumental disasters unfolding in rhe Nigeria state. |
Whoever is talking about elections in the midst of the worst post war period in our collective history with emergency rule just round the corner is quite frankly mad. If he or she is not postulating solutions to getting this country and her hapless inhabitants out of this quagmire then they should all shut up or go to blazes. Democracy is not working so elections are meaningless at this time. We need to step back and get to work repairing the stalled engine of state before trying to fire her up again. I donot expect any citizen with a head on his shoulders to listen or participate in anything that will promote the interests and greed of these individuals if they are not serious about our plight in return and they must put that first, front and centre of any such talk. |
And when protests are ongoing against the establishment, fellow misguided, reprobate and outright idiotic citizens line up shamelessly to support their oppressors against their fellow hapless citizens then wonder why they themselves cannot get out of this crab bucket of a country |
That is what I am saying. They have not changed. They cannot change. They will not change. All the lives lost, resources lost all over the country the past protest has not moved them into considering their ways and towing the path of honour, good conscience and dedicated service. They insist on the status quo and this is simply because those who suffer most from their sorry, misguided state hail their obnoxious actions today as they have done many times before and watch their beloved country continue to sink in misery. |
Chioma1989:But look at the squad when Pep came in and compare it to today's squad. Not as if he has been at City for ages but look at the monumental roster that has passed through in that time. He refreshes the team evey close season. |
Angelfrost:We are saying exactly the same thing. No one is condescending or watering down the achievements of Sir Alex. His records are there for all time. He is a legend no doubt but what I say is that today's success secrets in the Premiership are totally different from a decade ago. Today's Premiership is like customized race cars with so powerful engines, driven to extremities that they have to be rebuilt after every race at monumental costs simply because the competition has improved drastically. That is what City has done for the last half decade. It virtually rebuilds its team every season ensuring burnout is kept to a minimum. The long and short of this scenario is that money still rules despite increasingly qualitative management. That is why teams like Arsenal are falling further away and that is why gaffers like Jose, successful during the time of Sir Alex (by the way) struggle today to hold a position, hold a formation, hold tactics and even hold a team down, ultra competition. Is Liverpool able to rest or replace 3, 4, 5, 6 top matchday squad players. Do they have the cash...? because that is what City does season after season. |
