I praise his adventure. |
Ranch these things, yet they will not listen. How will Nigeria develop its rail transport and by extension its industrial capacity if we cannot secure the rights of way of transport infrastructure. What will happen when we begin to lay rail lines crisscrossing every town and city, when trains begin to run every 3 to 5 minutes, when trains begin to attain jet like speeds as in developed countries, will there not be carnage with loss of lives and property destruction. Of a truth, the first thing to develop is the mind, the mind develops the culture and the culture returns to develop the man and his environment. We still have a long way to go in Nigeria. |
ikorodureporta:Hahahaha.... 'thou shalt eat no unclean thing. Be yea holy...' Very, very interesting times we live in. My Bible study this morning was on 2 Kings 7. Nothing, I repeat nothing ever changes. |
It is a trial of civility. Accept these excuses and they will grow. Soon the services will deteriorate to what is happening with the petroleum sector in Nigeria, or them defunct government owned Nigeria Airways, a sad tale indeed but nasi e take start. Begin to raise hell about it and you might just delay the corrosion a while. Everyone is watching. |
ShoeShineGuy:Hey. They paid for a service from point a to b, simple. They did not pay to become nocturnal train engine mechanics. They have their own appointments, their own worries and as a result of the delays perhaps their own losses so they should be concerned. It is obvious they have higher expectations than to sit still and wimper or applaud such a 'wonderful service'. No one applauds me when I mess up my services or defect my goods. I get an ear full and humbly make swift corrections with apologies to remain in business. That should be the general attitude in this poorly run country. |
Hahahaha....hear the station manager saying 'breakdowns are a normal thing...of course they are....but just can't shake off the thoughts about our refineries cos everyone is learning. I hope they are not setting us up for an NNPC type endless circus of Turn Around Maintenance cum kleptocracy. Government has no business in business. How come we do not know when Dangote's cement plants 'break down' or when MTN's network 'breaks down' or when AirPeace' newly acquired aircraft 'breaksdown' or when the power generator in MM2 'breaks down'...hmmm... Government and leprous fingers....always breaking stuff. Nothing lasts in their hands. |
Very sad. The world has lost a great, legendary servant of the beautiful game though not a few folks will be surprised he endured this long. |
Where is George Soros when you need someone to teach these rats a lesson of a lifetime. |
They closed the borders just to produce a report...hahahaha. Just say the truth for once that it was an I'll advised policy without the meat to attain its objectives because of the failed structure of Nigeria that doesn't lend itself to productivity. It is now they have realised the grave consequences and the rising pressure for a total revolt and breakdown of law and order. When you have restructured the country along the lines of proper productivity and independent economic development by ending the rent seeking, resource allocation system we practice and folks are finally etching out a real living then you can dig a moat round the country as deep as the Mariana Trench and fill it with caustic alligators. No one will bother. |
platido:And has Nigeria become better since last year? to make debate about such issues irrelevant... |
omenka:That is why you should encourage proper, competitive, multiparty politics so you can trade one power base against the other. It is the threat of loss of power that makes democracy work the world over but unfortunately folks like you remain beclouded with sentiment rather than view things objectively and pragmatically so you still believe in 'names', chase individuals about and find yourself stuck with a corrupt autocracy. Like them or hate them, the PDP remains the only viable option to sort this mess out. Man for man they may be more corrupt than the present set of leaders but democracy means you can still trade power with them to get results. Threaten the ruling APC that if those cars are not auctioned by sunset they will surely lose in 2023 and all those cars will disappear in a flash.. No one will give up power for an SUV. It is Nigerians that are hopelessly ignorant about how to get what they want out of their democracy. Stop making those in power comfortable and there is a crack of light in this dark land of Nigeria. |
Sonn:You indeed have the time to discourse with bottom feeders, dregs of society, the reasons why this country remains stuck in infamy when other nations are making solid advances. You will have thought that having seen the decay and terminal destruction of the state all will have come to their senses and sought for the right people but even on thei death beds they still hang onto sentiment.... |
Ah, Mr Lai don't mind them. How can you fall from extreme poverty into recession. How can you 'fall up'.... How can the dead fall out of the grave.... recession is faaaar better... |
Ours will come and hopefully will be 150,000 dollars. No one runs from his farm because of weeds. Stay and clean your mess or live with it. |
DennisEche:That is the personalisation of government we often speak about. Where folks cannot draw the line between personal interests and the interests of government, her institutions and the people they are meant to serve. Where duty is to oneself first, then to those who appoint you, then all other considerations share the crumbs. They are more interested in 'who', not what or why. Just hear how the whole thing sounds, like some boy band or rock group or your typical sunday evening family sitcom. That is how my beloved country is run... |
Details, details, details....Who are these Directors and what do they do to either earn or expend a massive sum of 4.6 BILLION NAIRA. Are these not some of the reasons why the government is essentially insolvent.... this rampaging, out of control overheads, recurrent or personnel costs. Is this not authorised, legalised, appropriated corruption. Why do we know so little, about these people who are appointed to superintend over our nation and our collective wrealth and why is it we have very little say about how they spend wily nily especially in the midst of hardship amongst the general citizenry. |
This thing should be headed to the US Congress by now. It is they who can shake the tree enough for the truth to fall out. |
Sire, we are over the moon. So proud of you guys eh that it will make Kim Jong Un's praise singers seem like renegades. But sir can you increase the losses from NNPC refineries to one trillion naira every year. This year's losses are quite paltry. |
morinto:Nigeria trading what exactly... Our most successful export to the world has been skilled manpower and I don't think that is under the purview of the WTO. |
Hip, hip hoooooray!!!..... but what is the benefit of a 11kv dedicated line running over your house without a transformer.... what is the point of having ma'am Iweala at the centre of world trade when we have nothing to offer the world or have no one here to speak the same language of economics to.... so I sadly withdraw my sentiment. ....maybe just maybe if the Korean took it we will have cheaper Hyundai cars coming in and more affordable Samsung smart phones. That makes more sense innit....hmmm |
The mouthed southwest delegates on this forum had better advise their prime choice, either the 'Jagaban' or the 'Starboy' to defect to the PDP and run along its main candidate to balance things up. This is what you get when you play ethno-religious politics. It is hard to square a circle and get every duck in line. Something has the quack...sorry quake. Nigerian politics is a game of musical chairs. There will be tears. |
Yeah. My dad told me this story many years back, I would say very reluctantly. Was common knowledge amongst those of them working in the UK during the civil war. Many, many things happened that Nigerians are unaware about before, during and after the war about people some of whom are considered national heroes today. Today I know more about the First and Second World wars, the Korean War and the Vietnam war than the Civil War in my country. We are a nation of deep historical deficit. We know very little about this country called Nigeria, her history and her people. Little wonder we keep stumbling. There is nothing to learn from. |
'....and the soldiers wished us safe journey...' as you were about to embark on the journey...like Apostle Paul heading to Rome and certain death Hmmm....if you know what I am thinking right now.... ....can it get any lower than this.... .... tell me who is enjoying any of this... .... tell me who regards all these as a normal way a society should exist...a normal way a country should be run... |
Hmmm....'flying over' the social problems bedevilling the state. Mr. Governor, get to the root of the problem. Lockdown is never a solution to any thing be it a viral or human pandemic. It is instructive to note that in a time of great socio-economic challenges you see it fit to expend scare opportunity and resources on 'househelps' aka 'Julius Bergeresque' type development model, when your own children are wasting away in truancy. It is the idle mind that has led them to cultism when it is they who should be occupied, building the bridges and creating the infrastructure they require to develop themselves. Great nations are built by great people, not by great multinationals. Great families are established by great parenting that inspires early, empowers consistently and demands accountability. You should be able as leadership to inspire a change in the narrative around the youth of your state to one of responsibility, solidarity and accountability. Get them to work, Mr. Wike. |
Good morning folks. How ya all enjoying your country...the works of thine hands... ![]() |
Kyase:No. It was persisting with Wenger that deepened the rot. Wenger should have gone when he degraded up to half the team. He was left there till not a single component of the team was viable or competitive. |
Kyase:As per? Shots on goal? link up play? crosses or tracking back...the expectations of the Arsenal faithful must be rock bottom. The best player is Bernd Leno by the way. |
xynerise:Arsenal was scammed by whoever floated the deal with Lille. Can't see what he has brought to the Emirates that was lacking. |
He wasn't playing anything worthwhile before seeing red'anyway. Poor quality player. |
This is typical mid table quality on display by Arsenal. So limp. After so much promise by Arteta it appears the second wave of viral mediocrity has crept into the Gunners camp and quality performance is on lockdown. |
Exactly what I said earlier. Government will not permit any evidence of infractions to lay open. It will have long cleaned up. Those waiting for goverment to provide evidence to incriminate itself are delusional. If anyone wants to prove misdeeds the only route is through investigative journalism, the way it is done worldwide. You go after admissions and confessions, you lay traps and stings. Someone is related to someone who is related to someone who was presumptively an active participant in something.... Get them talking and record conversations. That is how it is done. It is impossible for government to effect 'radio silence' of everyone concerning everything forever. Someone will talk...eventually. Don't be in a rush to call for judicial panels, prosecutors inquests or whatever because it MAY end up being a case of double jeopardy. Whoever may be found liable in future on new evidence may not be subject to justice. |
Please do start the debate on the way forward Mr. Atiku. Let others continue to play the ostrich while the nation quakes. |
