Tonymegabush1:God's precepts for prosperity is absent so this country enjoys no favour. Too much corporate unrighteousness. When those who know the truth speak up, the majority shut them down. They should enjoy their creation. |
Government running scared of everything these days. Guess they are not that surefooted and assured. |
Lovely. |
Whatever rocks his boat. Built a glass ceiling over his head with all these and cannot aspire to the highest office in the land.... ever. |
Yes, they do use vulgar words and explicit pictures ro promote their wares and services in full public view. Very primitive, but a fine and stern warning is sufficient. |
....hmmm, then your humongous newspaper and print media allowances can be withdrawn. Little by little you will all walk yourselves into sanity. |
AlphaAlex:The ending paragraph is apt: The joke is on the south. The north is seeking to identify a common value system it can unite and stabilise around while the south is decadent and divided. It is further way from a secure, sustainable existence. |
This is what I said when folks were baying for an end to the protest without an adequate response from the authorities. Back to the status quo and even worse. It is like spraying insecticide in a room where you are and within a few seconds ventilating the room because you cannot stand it. You have lost. The smaller bugs, the attitude of the foot soldiers will be dead while the bigger bugs the system the authorities use to continue slavery will remain alive and kicking. And we all know change cannot happen until attitudes change completely across board. Said that there are people benefitting from the status quo and merely held their breathe while the riots lasted and are now relieved it didn't escalate unto change. They will come back with a vengeance and Nigeria is bound to be worse, much worse. The citizens blinked, could not hold their horses for long and they should now brace for the fallout. It has started. No evidence found against any SARS operative. Interesting. They know how to close ranks...while the peons are busy fighting each other in chains. It is so, so, so easy to misrule this country.... Nigeria, a banana farmer's paradise. |
Hmm, very soon buildings will be toppling like dominos and crumbling like crackers in morning tea....good luck Nigeria. |
Looks obese and sickly. Fatty liver or hepatitis. Folks, hit the road or the gym. You owe someone that little effort. |
Indolent horse. Should have given them a taste of its hoofs. |
As usual, foreign nations doing Nigeria's pile of filthy laundry. Cause: the dereliction of most of our institutions. Nigeria decays while they pursue personal and parochial interests. |
That is how Nigeria rolls. So why not reinstate the SARS, continue police brutality and accelerate bad governance since Atiku is the sponsor. And while you are at it you may as well ask him for warehouse spaces to hide more Covid palliatives since his Intels Company is moribund. Sure he can help. |
As long as there is a law there, obey it, simple. Kano State is simply showing the rest of Nigeria how to organse its territories. So you either get the laws changed or leave. This is what we have been advocating for the greater Nigeria. People gathering together to decide and elect collective values... popularly known as restructuring. Unfortunately those who should be pressing on with their own programmes are busy fighting each other, moaning that they are held back and pointing fingers at those who are moving forward. Isn't that what we call 'crab mentality'. Who has the structure it wants. ? ... The joke is indeed on lazy Nigeria. |
Since this is Sunday I guess love covers a multitude of sins.... But come to think about it. If a person can willfully dump toxicity and walk away without a conscience such a person is capable of committing a capital crime. Was watching a 'docy' on the Curiosity Channel last night about the "black death' starting in 1345; and in the present clime of pestilence, if you cannot task yourself to flush and wash after use, you are potentially a murderer. No one these days needs to be reminded about personal sanitation. It is a life or death matter. |
Once again. None of our business. We have issues here that require our full attention, serious issues. |
The way the world is wired today only a vaccine can stop this pandemic. I'm afraid the world has a monumental battle on its hand. |
Civil suits loading. The government cannot win this. |
They don't want anything to change. They battle hard to keep things as they were. Hoping their antagonists fade into oblivion. Let's see weho blinks first. Blackmailing the people with images of violence while hiding their destruction of society, sanity, security succor perpetuated over decades. New York to Boston, London to Paris, Hong Kong to Cairo, great cities have been ravaged by the violence of protests, the loss of lives and the destruction of property many times before but will always be rebuilt by the people who own the government indeed. Those in power have no flight to blackmail the long suffering citizens of a nation serially misgoverned for they are no more patriotic than the citizens they abuse. |
Malawian:Add to the fact that the present goverment is the most powerful since the 5th republic. No other goverment has had all the independent arms totally subservient. Absolutely no challenge or distraction from the Legislature, no obstacles from the Judiciary, no political opposition, yet... ...it is virus that is the fall guy... |
Once again the trigger is cash. This is the bane of the uneducated and the ignorant. What are you doing with N500,000 in your home. That amount of cash on your person is a poor, poor read of society. |
Anyone who takes seriously the views and analysis of a people who brought socio-political calamity upon themselves must be retarded. Once again. Nigerians have no business with America's elections. Preachers, do save yourselves. |
Lovely. |
Just disgusting. Cannot wait for oil and gas to turn to dust so that these wholesale thefts will be of tax receipts and national earnings from real productivity, then this country will change permanently. |
Aarenaija:Nigerians are too indolent, accepting nonsense bills all the time. You will think a people swimming in the murk of poverty will be incensed at every scam that flashes before them from career criminals.... When will the beleaguered citizens of this country stand up. |
Cost of administration is just too high in Nigeria. What is the function of this orgsnisation again if you ask me....just one of superintending or supervision.... just acting on behalf of the citizens as a fusebox to the business of providing electricity, period. They are not a business entity, so ask me what they need an eight-storey building in the middle of Abuja for when there is effectively only one distribution company, perhaps one transmission company and not a single generating company there. They have looked at the NNPC and feel they too should lord it over us with billions to furnish their appetites. Then when an issue arises in EKO Disco or PHED they fly first class and lodge in five star hotels because they are all holed up in centralised Abuja, when we should be talking seriously about decentralising administration to cut the cost of governance. People had better speak up against this madness. Billions to furnish at a time this country is essentially bankrupt is just madness. |
SocialJustice:The problem with Delta and to an extent, Bayelsa roots back to the turn of democracy in 1999 and the damaging influence of very, very poor quality leadership in the persons of James Ibori and the late DSP respectively. Both failed to institute proper goverment rather relying on political patrimony to sustain themselves in power. Naturally this requires huge quantities of resources to keep running. What we called government by settlement is now a pervasive sub-culture in both states in which an aspirant gets into power and 'settles' everyone else including those who should naturally oppose, thus killing off any semblance of virile democratic practice's, and truncating the resources of the state. There you will see obscenely rich politicians and their lackeys in the midst of grinding poverty and a decayed environment. The Niger-Delta struggle has not helped matters but further created divisions amongst the people with opposing sides angling for the spoils of war at the expense of their collective progress. It ius a terrible state of affairs that will take serious, sustained effort to overcome. Dernocracy came too early for those two territories and the subsequent effect can be likened to what obtains at the Federal level today with our entire earnings going to service debts and the rest supporting our over bloated civil service and psrticularly political office holders and their handbags. Today for example all Nigeria is crying out loud about the humongous amounts appropriated for the upkeep of the Legislature. Few will remember it s roots in the political misadventures of the Obasanjo years where he actively monetised legislation to get his way. Such culture is today so strong, no one can dare bell the cat that has grown into a 400 pound feline that will devour all who are mad enough to try taming her. Such are the fortunes and future of Delta State. It may take a generation to change the narrative and give power back to the people unless someone is brave enough to end it....very unlikely. |
The Army orders the Immigration Service to seize the passport of a citizen. Wow. This is interesting. The military appears to have almost total control of the country with the President just fronting for them. Is this democratic rule or the era of martial law. This is what you get when you elect leaders emotionally with the heart and not logically with the head. You invariably submit your liberties. You can imagine what it will take to freeze the bank account of an American citizen. Nigerians have made themselves too cheap before these fellows to matter. |
How ? Is Trump a Chtistian ? Or is he just a modern day King Cyrus ? Can't understand ? |
Davash222:She is accountable to those she feeds from. If you can feed her then you can ask her to wear whatever she likes. Why not sponsor her out of her comfort zone. When the problem starts you will not be there. If you want to change the culture then you should appeal to the hearts of the people enmasse not cherry picking skirmishes you cannot possibly win. |
Borrow to farm...how lovely. |
