dukie25:Stop please. Iran is a democratic entity. |
Preshy561:'Who finds' does not connote a godless independent quest. It is a partnership between you and God. You doing the legwork, He doing the heart and mind work, things you cannot possibly see and understand. |
Just speechless.... and utterly disgusted. Abeg, I'm calling it a day. Just fed up. I have my life to live. What is my business. |
This country as it is presently constituted is too weak to protect itself, too weak to govern itself, too weak to feed itself, too weak to educate itself, too weak to develop itself. We claim we have the best set of leaders in a generation running this country presently yet all this mess. What happens when we elect a bad leader or one who is not an ex-general, where will the citizens run to. Other countries can go with a couple of bad leaders and it will not alter their develomental trend. That is because they have taken time to institutionalize government. Here everything is personalized so a President elected to handle security because he is an ex-general (not necessarily because he came to government with any ideas of how to handle security challenges) can also demonstrate another side of being an ex-military man, an unsavoury side which is a lack of empathy. We really need to change the way this country is set up from her government to her citizens to give us a slim chance of making the next century. This country as it is, is simply not working and is not fit for purpose. |
antidote06:What the hell do you mean by everybody. What kind of stupid statement is that. Have the authorities not been given all manner of advise on what to do by a whole host of citizens across the spectrum but the government in charge has decided not to do a thing. Stop trying to rope the country into the mess of a few who have everything to gain from this if not will have done the least and changed those in charge of security. Was it not in this forum a few hours ago that one silly ex-IG called Tsav was justifying maintaining the failed status quo of centralized law enforcement because his interests and those of his ilk are more about centralised power politics and the fear of giving civil authority to people out of the control of the 'owners of Nigeria'. Those in charge of this country simply donot care. Well meaning citizens know what is right and know what to do to stop this carnage immediately. So you can continue to play the ostrich and pretend all Nigerians share in the hopelessness of it while your pet preferences are protected to the destruction of this country. It is Hobson's choice. It is either this country is restructured or is destroyed. One will come sooner or later. |
The safest way in life is to mind your business and face your issues. Just learn to live a peaceable life. You should not act if you need only speak. You should not speak when a smile is all that is necessary. You need not smile when a courteous nod will do. Be a mystery to people. Be an unopened book longing to be read. |
DarkJeddi:I think Samuel Chukwueze is the player to watch if he is given enough playing time. His ball skills are not matched in that team. There is no defence he cannot split and he has a mean left shot. Watched him sgainst all the big Laliga teams this season and he was not fazed at all. Performed in all the big games. What he needs is good players around him which he lacks at Villareal and a mental toggle to turn off the Nigerian mentality that beclouds all our sporting teams. |
zidek:I also think the coach should have tried a long term programme of converting him to the midfield. The basic problem with Kelechi is pace. The football sense is there. His passing is good and his ball handling is a lot neater than most in that team but pace and drive robs him of goal chances he is expected to take. I think if his brought into the creative half of the midfield he could be more effective. I don't think he is done with football. He only needs to recreate his resume, reinvent his game. The potentials are there. |
wolewolsz:I wonder. The rest of the list is okay. |
Corruption is not the problem of Nigeria. Whatever is universally admitted and practiced is not problem, it is a tradition. |
kaen1317:That is grace. You cannot understand it until you understand Jesus on the Cross at Calvary. His love, His patience despite all contradictions. True Christians can never be offended by whatever anyone writes or says. The Truth remains and will outlast all. |
Not true if all the information given is all he actually did. |
Agugbadin:Hmmm....indeed. |
mmb:I thought superman was appoinred the Customs top dog. Why isn't he in the meeting.... oh, he anawers only to the HOS. No one else can touch him. |
I said tnat I won't be holding my breathe for this team. I said Nigeria football is not improving.... nothing is this mediocre country is improving... |
Without restructuring, corruption can never end. The power to prosecute should not lie where it presently is. You can imagine if someone like Donald Trump had all the power that our HOS has... With all the opposition in the US HoR is democracy not working in the States even with a President that has limited powers. What more power and so called cooperation does our President want or need from the Legislature that he already does not have in this weakened and institutionally porous State. Except that I suspect there are some very unpopular and defining laws he wants made or removed that only a rubber stamp could do. We are treading on very dangerous grounds. Something is coming round the corner we may be not expecting. Why the desperation to control the Legislature when the Constitution already gives you this much power, your party has a majority and the Judiciary is purged of all contrary interests. |
When we say restructure, they say no. That corruption is the problem. Very soon, all the money in the world will not solve the problem. You can imagine a weakened, divided entity like Nigeria facing a rapidly coalescing and organised, homogenous ethnic movement whose population may rival if not exceed that of the country at our doorsteps banging to get into and reorganise this country in ways better imagined Nigeria is like a patient with a weakened immune system, whose constituent organs are gasping for life but refuses to take the necessary medication to boost its immunity or fight impending infection. We are sitting ducks. Our borders and internal security apparatus are largely manned by those whose allegiance to tribe exceeds that of their allegiance to the state. It is time for every Nigerian to stand up to ask, what the hell is happening and begin to chart a course for the future of himself, his children, his home and the country he loves. The clock is ticking as tomwhat really matters. The signs of impending chaos are here for everyone to see. Certain things will become irreversible in a years time, three years time and so on. |
It is up to you to either strengthen the institution or weaken it. Posterity will judge you, not the citizens of this country. Many who held office have longed, fought to return to correct the mistakes of their past sojourn on the throne and the importance of leaving a sound legacy. Few inculdibg the present HOS have this privilege you will almost certainly not have. So good luck on your noble journey. |
liberalchick:Good one. |
Marraige is a union between a man and his wife only. 'For this reason,' says the Word, 'shall a man LEAVE his father and mother and cling to his wife'. If he cannot leave then he cannot be a husband, simple. But these are the things to be discovered and discussed during what is called courtship, long before the complications of marraige and babies. So ma'am your ship has sailed. Repair work is awfully tough and will not look anything brand new. |
Nice. Which countryman is he going to become. |
otokx:There are many. And hills all over that donot absorb rainfall but accelerate runoff. |
Lokogoma is a plain surrounded by hills, that is there is a lot of bedrock encircling around. That is why it has many sreams meadering around looking for escape. It is bound to happen. Donot build close to any one of these streams. The semi-arid climate of Abuja could be deceptive. |
maestroferddi:It is not for you, please move on. Not everyone here is my audience. |
tempel:But freedom of speech is contextual, measurable and isn't independent of the dynamics of a society it contains. On the one hand I want to say my mind about anything, anywhere and at anytime I like but on the other hand, the Rwandan genocide was promoted in part by 'freedom to express hate'. That is why it is is imperative that these sort of institutional cum societal clashes are not forgotten or swept away but thoroughly debated across society so that the tolerances of all parties are well understood and the red lines established. If for instance this has been done over the years that 'beauty pagent crises' in northern Nigeria will have been avoided. Society needs these incidents to test its tolerances and establish universal values. But trust Nigeria(ns). They will rather 'lynch' the AIT or the NBC and return home in pure medevial pleasure being entirely not the wiser as to how society can learn and progress from this. Nigerians must begin to learn how to develop, progress, win from its battles, challenges and tragedies. That is how the rest of tje world develops. Every aircraft that crashes ensures that the rest are safer by learning, debating and solutioning. |
Appropriate for the government to obey court orders but it doesn't end there. Detailed investigations should proceed into the actions of AIT that promoted the lockdown in the first place and if found wanting the NBC should proceed to a Court of higher Jurisdiction. When society clashes with authority in an atmosphere of the rule of law, reforms are bound to occur that advances both parties and solidifies development because personal pecuniary interests get dissolved in the heat of institutional dynamics. LET THE DEBATE BEGIN. |
There is no nobility in the acts from whence you both came, no vision to where you both go and no grace on the land you both stand.... so there is no advice to give. Any move you both make is bound to end disastrously..... Correct your ways and embrace life. |
Heroes. |
Wind will be a serious deteminant of the life expectancy of its inhabitants. |
obo389:When Mr. President went to Kano and against all what he stands for raised Mr. Ganduje's hand he precipitated all this. So he is part of the system that corruption fuels. If one is principled and lends support to institutional change tjen he should have brpught the weight of his government and his party to bear agsinst the re-election if Ganduje just as the weight is brpught on the likes of Rochas and Amosun who have done far less danage to thd public good but are being harassed and stripped of authority. The problem of non-instititional drives to development is often the lack of equity and justice. Without those two, development is just pie in thd sky. Goodluck to Ganduje, Emir Sanusi and Nigerians. |
Greatzeus:Can't say more. If you live on the reserve you are either a target of the hunter or the prey. Just keep to the straight and narrow and live free. But what ladies should realise is that, the more incidences like these occur, the harder it will become for them to get hitched particularly to worthwhile suitors. It is always the innocent ones that will bear the burnt of this growing female misconduct. |
