Can they also raise the dead civilians they have been killing in the name of obeying orders. |
Then he won't become IG of the Police Force, simple. |
Ugosample:The men too will argue for that freedom to behave the way they like. What makes the rape of the body and the rape of the mind different. Both have terrible consequences. A violent person and one that incites violence are just as guilty as one who comits rogue se.xual acts and one that incites sex through perversion. That is why everyone should be considerate for his fellow man. Both men and women should be on a leash. No one has the right to destroy the other. |
Onyi22:It is not a free world. Every act has consequences... good and bad. Your freedom is another's bondage. Your strength is another's weakness. The Holy books tell us to be 'considerate' for one another. That is to seek the good of the other in everything including the way we dress. |
Just got into Portharcourt. There were ongoing protests around GRA junction. Had to divert through Salvation and Polo club. The town is generally calm. Naysayers will be disappointed in that. They want peace in their enclaves but destroy that of others. Its a real shame what this election has become. Posterity has spoken, history is written and legacies utterly destroyed. |
The truth is that it was always going to be extremely difficult for Ikpeazu to lose. His Ngwa base holds the numbers just as the north is to Nigeria in general. It is this number that the political founders saw and established the charter of equity that saw Abia north get the seat through Uzor Kalu and was upheld by Theodore Orji of the Centre. Now it is the turn of the south which has the numbers.... This situation is not palatable but necessary to maintain the stability of the polity. The downside of this affirmative action has been poor performance due to lack of true democratic competition. Now that the deal is done it is hoped that the 2023 elections will be truly competitive both inter party and intra party and that the Ngwa people will be willing to support the best candidate then and not use their numeric power to monopolise power. The kind of patience they exhibited for 16 years before 2015. |
WinningSun:The Bible in Ecc 11:5 has asked you in its text, '...do you know how a baby is formed in the womb...'. You don't so that is not your job. Your job is to prepare yourself and your wife mentally and physically, keep in proper shape, copulate with your wife when the time is right and wait for conception while He forms the baby in a womb from the Word that cannot be conceived naturally due to various challenges you may have which will be best adviced to find out. He cannot generate a baby without your agreement/consent. |
Ayotemide:'He told (God told) Jehoshaphat...'. That is God's input in the partnership at that instance. Some will act without that instructive input and fail. Others will receive His input and still wait for Him to do their part of the deal when they clearly know God doesn't have hands and feet. |
Johnboom:No, he is not saying you should do anything by yourself. Nothing can be done without God and God will do nothing without man. Both act simultaneously. Anything outside that is bound to fail. |
Yes. God created you and I for partnership, for fellowship so each one comes to the party with something to make something happen. |
SunnyskyTG:Hello Mr. Einstein, so how do you change a thing you yave nothing to complain about.... Have you seen any democratic government no singke cutizen complains about..... Have you seen any perfect made made object(ive). Then why stop folks from venting their frustrations with a failed, flawed and f..ked up system....oh you think America just came out of nothing and became a super power by wishful thinking, |
opalu:Are there civil engineers in Nigeria ?.... haven't seen any... . where are you all hidden? |
When the President called for the death of those who would attempt to snatch ballot boxes little did he realise he had made badgering, lynching and death the official mantra of these elections. I said it then and I say it now, it was a callous statement in the order of the 'do or die' days of the Obasanjo regime we thought we had left far behind. It has made self help an official position because no one has the right to take a life in the course of a civil, non combative process such as democratic elections, even law enforcement agents. Mr Buhari should note that as a leader the tone set goes a long way to determine the course citizens chart for themselves. If he can clearly remember his unfortunate gaffe about monkeys and baboons and the fallout many years ago in contrast to the 'not worth the blood of any Nigerian' and the peace he enjoyed in his victory and the transition, it proves Mr Buhari has learnt little from history. No elections have been perfect, no elections have been free from threats, manipulations and anti social vices yet we have managed to conduct 5 general elections before this, voted in 3 President's before him and changed one goverment led party. Imperfect but stable. This is the least we expected from Mr Buhari and not to overheat the system unnecessarily for his personal benefit. He is a leader of all and at his age should be a statesman of sorts, full of introspection and wisdom, patient with all and not quick to judge. Nigeria will continue beyond Mr. Buhari's government and time in office. He should leave things as he met them if he cannot find the resolve to better them. It is least we expect of him. He should not and cannot continue to incite violence through loose rhetoric and continue to cleave society asunder for aims we are yet to understand. |
blackmantis: ...fair game. In war the line between civility and barbarity is fudged, flawed and fluid. |
stasius:Hmmm.... they will forget all about it and be looking to recoup their 'investment' until the next election comes. |
Ubenedictus:Been reading your comments. Just two things. If indeed you are neutral like I am. Then you see the value of virile, multi party politics as a the cornerstone of a developing democracy. Rather what you want is the coalescing of all political views under a unitary leadership. And this to you is where development lies. If your party is not at the centre, then nothing. If this was the case the APC would not exist today. And perhaps this is why we have so much cross carpeting today. The winner takes all. In this I think the ruling APC and the Buhari government has not done well. It has over politicised government, blurred the lines between Mr Oshimhole and the Federal Executive Council. It is a dangerous precedent the hounding of other political affiliations and the desire to see all Nigeria as conquered under the APC flag. We thought the Obasanjo years of do or die political conquest was gone in the conduct of the mild mannered Yaradua and Jonathan but this government is takingus back to 1999. Secondly if there is any region that has been politically plural and consistent about it, it should be the south east. At the outset their son, a founding member of the PDP (which was the only national party then) was schemed out of the Presidency but it did not stop their support for an Obasanjo of the west, a Yaradua of the north and a Jonathan of the south even at the expense of their regional party (APGA) whilst not even getting the vice-president seat in any instance since 1999. Today the regional party of the north, the CPC is in defacto power in coalition with the regional party of the west (APN) and controlling two thirds of all states including all the western states while APGA controls only one state. I cannot understand how supporting the PDP by a lot of folks of the east amounts to regional politics when the PDP remains a pan Nigerian party and cannot understand why certain folks wish a change in the east when they cannot do it in their regions and states. |
omoelerin1:... when you all agree to restructure Nigeria.... and put the horse called the politician to pull the cart called Nigeria. Right now the horse is sitting pretty in the cart and the citizens are pulling both.... whenever you guys get tired you will do the needful. Someone asked me why I donot vote. I said vote for who. He said elections are important. I said so is cricket to some folks but I prefer soccer. Folks, no matter how long we continue down this path it will never bring about the expectations of the vast majority of Nigerians unless we change the game. The players are irrelevant. No leader elected under this system can change Nigeria. |
Racism spares no one, even the privileged. |
Hmmm.... is Rochas not in the running to become the next President (of Igbo extraction) come 2023... isn't it too early for the APC to start discrediting him.... |
jomonic:Hmmmm..... |
We have said enough about this already. Nigerians get the country they deserve. |
Lukgaf:It is a sentence, a judgement. A lot happens between that and the gallows. A death warrant has to be issued and can only be signed by the State Governor, similar to the United States.... and few governors have actually signed them so the death row list in Nigeria is a pretty long one. Some have been on death row for uowards of a decade and some have actually died of health issues and old age while awaiting execution. To kill legally through the courts is not easy anywhere in the non Sharia, non Communist world. |
When we say seek God's face as the perfect match maker they will say its old school. Sure God can forgive but the scars can remain till.... death do you part... as the marriage rites go and Tonto's haunting is destined to be. |
Nigeria is largely a product driven rather than a service driven country. We value articles rather than the processes that bring them to play. It is all too easy to criticise medical services until you hear from medical practicioners and view things from their side. You will often find overworked, under paid and ill equiped folks trying to square circles in a poverty ridden land with all sorts of folks living false illusions. |
How well are the National Libraries run.... abeg just shut it. |
Society without values. Cars without roads, planes without airports, houses without electricity, graduates without education and billionaires without a source of income. Nothing to inspire, nothing to teach, nothing to build and no legacy to guarantee a future. Only for the here and now. Welcome to Nigeria. |
KOLLYPROF:Now you are fighting corruption and have an incorruptible leader are you developing....continue in self delusion... as to what the real problem of Nigeria is. |
nonsobaba:And someone actually liked this. Ignorance is actually contagious. Now tell me which state of the Federation has actually been able to insulate its economy from the rest of Nigeria to such an extent that its citizens 'live in a better economy' or has a higher standard of living than the rest of us. Tell me where the America is in Nigeria because I have been to all the States of Nigeria and I cannot make that out. The Unitary structure of Nigeria cannot permit any one if its constituent States to change the general economic narrative of the average Nigerian. Just as a State Governor is a phantom Chief Security Officer of his State (office without authority) and can do nothing about robbers, thieves or bandits so no Governor can be the Chief Economic Officer of his State. For a State to control is economy it will need to control its fiscal and monetary policy framework. It will need to control its income and expenditure and it will need to control its finances starting with its own independent central bank just as in the United States where each State has its Reserve Bank. Today a Nigerian State cannot source its own credit on the international money market at its own terms. So when we say only restructuring is the way to development we know exactly what we are saying. And it is this self delusion we Nigerians are wrapped in thinking roads and schools and electricity and railways will bring automatic development... without the proper framework of a competitive democracy where the sky is the limit for political office holders. We are yet to know how to develop. He doesn't have the power to lift anyone out of poverty. No State Government has under this 'allocation and spend' Unitary System. |
Greatomotoy:History will still place Perez as the most successful Real Madrid President ever. His legacy is sealed and once he can upgrade the Estadio Santiago Bernebau his mission is done. Nothing lasts forever. We are all created to make an impact not to last on earth for eternity. Sports isn't sports if you cannot win or lose. |
logon599:Take it easy. There is no sphere of human endeavour that gurantees perpetual dominance no matter what strategies are employed. The same Perez brought tnem 4 CL titles in 5 years. Any sporting team in the world will crave that kind of achievement. Empires are built and inevitably crumble. Strategies get dated, players age and gaffers ate outfoxed. You mentioned Arsenal and Milan. We all criricise them for not giving us eternal pleasure but what is sports if a champion cannot be defeated. Where will the Arsenal and Bayern Munich be if the empires of Nottingham Forest and Sv Hamburg did not crumble. How long did it take to win La Decima how long did it take to accumulate those other 9 titles....yes almost a hundred years... then you win three straight, get kicked out at the fourth attempt and all hell is let loose. That is simply madness. Pally, Zidane may never win another CL as coach and it will take hell and high water for another coach or team to take three CL titles in a row. Better appreciate history when you are privileged to witness it. Check through the all time stats and appreciate what Perez has done. The small picture is all too deceptive just as of the much berated Arsenal and Wenger whose unbeaten record has not been equalled even by the likes of the mighty Manchester City and their mega Arab oil billions and arguably the best football coach of this era. This is coming from a fierce critic of the Arsenal management and Arsene Wenger. History simpky doesn't lie. |
If the people will demand and support an independent and virile Judiciary and Legislature that will do their proper functions of checks and balances for the appointment and approval of credible institutional heads such as the CBN and in this case INEC, all these problems will not arise. Like I said yesterday the problem is the people. Today they cheer and support a President expanding his powers and weakening the other two arms of government and the Constitution consequently. It may favour some today. It will not favour same forever. |
