sonature1:That was the end of the 'Mission'....the death of the vision. You simply cannot explain that away. It was not worth it at all. No claims can be made 'posthumously'. How can you declare a fast and and be found in a drunken stupor. He should have excused the governor in person or himself in certainty. Pastor, you simply cannot ask me not to sin and then you are found cavorting with sinners. Your credibility is dead. You prove beyond doubt that your standards come with a price tag. |
nextstep:I told you folks that by 2019 everyone will be demystified. Who could have imagined in 2015, Mr President coming in with such hot air will raise the hand and salute a person, a governor so publicly discredited and humiliated on accounts of the most open, embarrassing and primitive forms of graft, a kick back in raw cash not once but seven times on candid camera. Those that planned the sting did not have the governor in their cross hairs. They had Mr. President instead, seeking to make a mockery of his never ending chorus and placing him pn a tight spot. And guess what, he fell for it and demystified himself and ended his legacy..... in January, 2019, just as predicted. Those pictures at the political rally will forever haunt him. But I did say in 2014 that it was impossible for any leader to end corruption by political will alone without the proverbial dinner with the devil. That corruption did not bear any name or had any contact address rather it was engrained in our collective psyche thus endemic and systemic and the only way to end thebug fest was to 'drain the swamp', aka restructuring the nation', in this case along the lines of fiscal responsibility. So here we are today after 4 years. Corruption rages on. New, 'graftier' stories everyday, barely a dent in the 'corruption perception index....? And the corruption warlord.... trying to soldier on across the pointless, meaningless wilderness of vain glory to the oasis of triumphism that continues to drift away into the torrid distance like the mirage it truly is.... Just wasting his time.... |
Very bad taste and a tad racial. Not good at all. |
Magnus looking good for 2023. |
Sirpaul:NACA should keep a very, very close eye on Caverton and this 'Accidented Vehicle'. I have noted the Reg No. and be passing the word round my people. |
These are the things that bring tears to my eyes. How can a people that sit on billions and billions of dollars worth of oil and gas reserves just be getting an accessroad sixty years after independence.... while cities, empires and vast wealth have been built on its back in other climes far flung. If we thought this evil was a colonial period dark melodrama, how do we explain fellow citizens doing this to their brothers in contemporary times and justifying it to this day via this terrible structure we find ourselves in. How come a whole new capital city, Abuja was built complete with wide tree lined boulevards and gleaming towers from scratch amid the settlements, farms and hillsides of mid Nigeria and an ancient town, kingdom and oil basket of Opobo is just getting a land connection. We ought to be terribly ashamed of ourselves as Nigerians. Our patent lack of reasoning, empathy and humanity will not allow the grace others nations who uphold equity and justice enjoy in moving forward. We must as a matter of urgency restructure this country. I do not celebrate this please. I am ashamed and angry. |
Ranchhoddas:Because helicopters are much, much, more complicated than fixed wing aircraft of similar weight. They have many more moving parts and a lot more electronic controls and sensors and as such cannot be mass produced like other light aircraft. The total number produced, just 900 says a lot. Maintenance for similar reasons is equally much more expensive, and they are notoriously vulnerable to damage from foreign bodies due to the typically low altitude, rough terrain they operate. Their rotor wash churns up everything from sand to grass to pebbles on take off and landing and this impacts heavily on the engines which are built more sturdily than typical fixed wing aircraft engines making them very expensive to build and maintain. For me personally helicopter technology is seriously lagging and its time is fast ending. I prefer tilt rotor technology or better still VTOL systems. The vulnerability of the exposed rotors and particularly the much maligned tail rotor makes it a very dangerous machine to fly in consistently. And in Nigeria where corner cutting is second nature.... |
anibabes007:Yes, Nigerian Naira. |
GeorgeTheCoder:Is that not what I've been saying for ages. That in this structure it will always be Hobson's choice. Without restructuring we can NEVER get our best into governance. Our constitution has preloaded our destiny on the basis of religion and ethnicity forever and ever... or until we are fes up wirh failure. |
afrokid:Don't know what you guys saw in it. It was just bland and sleep inducing. Watched videos all the time instead. Then came CTL in 1989 and I resigned from NTA permanently. |
Wasted two weeks of my life over Christmas thinking Lagos could possibly be a tourist destination... Ended up worse for wear at the end of it all, full of regrets. Just one big hype. It remains an unlivable city as far as I am concerned. |
luizpippo:Chopper mishaps don't feature. They are not significant. |
O decatalyst:We.have enough complainers in Nigeria. What is your solution. |
So in effect only 450MW was added to the grid courtesy of Azura in all the four years of this administration....hmmm.... While we play around a country like China has an installed capacity of approx. 1,677,133MW as against our false claim of 7,000MW, that is 240 times what we claim to have with a population just 8 times bigger than ours. At the height of its surge the Chinese were commissioning an Azura cap plant every two weeks. So in effect the gold standard for power development for any administration over its four year tenure should be somewhere closer to 45,000MW added capacity for us to claim we are pushing forward. We did just 450MW, a hundred times less. Mark you, the population continues to explode whether we add a candle light or not so we get poorer by the day standing still. Without restructuring Nigeria CAN NEVER DEVELOP. |
Mister. The real enemy here is your ignorance. And she will lose her life shortly if no action is taken to stop what is obviously a GI malady. |
Did I not say that by 2019 everyone will be demystified. What has changed.... nothing. Abeg I'm too busy for all this nonsense. This month is much too disruptive and I have to get well ahead of the storm. See you guys when it has all passed. |
This is the kind of data that should be sold to investors that will draw capital into the industry. Government can develop infrastructure, run it for a limited period, then sell off and reinvest in the next big thing. |
So, so sad. May their fsmilies be granted the fortitude at this time of great grief. |
We know... and the fact that every Minister and MILAD that served in your short lived regime between 1983 and 1985 are multi billionaires or died same.... and scandals trailed every organisation you headed from the Petroleum Minstry to the PTF. It is always the same story and same modus operandi. You never have a clue as to what happens around. |
But you campaigned for the re election of Aregbesola II in Osun. |
The man is flying a desk. Not my type of work. Real work does not accomodate such frivolities. |
This is the impetus a change of government brings. The new team is bound to perform until the laws of diminishing returns come into play and the people are taken for granted. So all those states singing from the same broken record since 1999, 2003, 2007 and even 2011 hear this. You have stagnated and are no where you should be if the tenets of a virile democracy were to be at play. |
BigBashiru:I totally agree with you. PMB till 2023 or whenever.... It is the fallout I am more concerned about.... I want a ride, I want a ride is not enough when you don't know where you are going.... We need a Head of State for the right reasons and not simply because every country has one. Mr. Tinubu is not aspiring for office. He cannot lead the campaign, simple. Mr. President is evading the people he should be leading. Which leader does that. |
Wizpa:The survival of a genocide is a stupid topic to you. Anyway you are a black man, so no surprises here. Those that survived the concentration camps of the second world war are still celebrated today and till the very last survivor is gone. Those are societies that harbour values and have respect for the kind of humanity you should earnestly pray for. |
So it is Tinubu that will articulate government's policy going forward, answer the questions of past performance and make solid comitments about the future of Nigeria based on facts and stats.... na waoh... I just don't know what is happening in Nigeria. But I don't blame them, cos we get the leaders we deserve. When the electorate is more concerned about mundane issues instead of obtaining firm electoral comittments, this is the result. When nothing works in the next four years, Mr Buhari will simply say.... 'It was not I that made those promises, so meet the man who did'. So they said about Prof Tam David West and the now infamous 'one naira to one dollar' or was it the 87 naira per litre promise or the 'six month course in rocket sciences...' or the 4 million jobs per year... or the end of the insurgency in six months that no one seems to remember who made them and have consequently all been denied... Exactly what is Mr. Tinubu going to say or do that should command any credibility when he has no responsibility for performing them... we are sold down the river walahi |
Modern pentecostalism as we know it is fast bowing to the darkness of ignorance. Jesus said, 'feed my sheep'. They are no longer doing that but using the name of God to barter 'salvation'. The ignorant should know that Mr. Oritsejafor's God is not different from theirs and his salvation is not superior to theirs. They should work out theirs and stop depending on 'spiritual handouts' when whatever is acruable to them has been paid for by Jesus Christ and just awaits the Light of Insight to take their inheritance. |
GistFullGround:Before you even talk about lifeguards what about things as basic as sanitation and the cleanliness of our beaches. Lagos beaches are so dirty. Trash everywhere. Even the sand stinks and flies buzz around. You cannot lay your towel and dare not lie down on it. That was my experience over Christmas at our beaches. Noise, dirt and lots and lots of unpleasant people. Tourism is far, far beyond our competencies in this country. |
victorazyvictor:The number of cycles does not matter. An aircraft can takeoff and land as many times a day as time permits. All it will cause is more wear to certain components but if serviced and changed as and when due is perfectly okay. An aircraft in the ground is capital tied down. They are far too expensive to own and maintain to keep idle in the airports. |
Haymaykar:You can say that again. If it had happened during take off after V1 then as they say.... the rest will be history... or shall I say... Discovery Channel's Aircrash Investigation.... |
No one wants to be looked down on.... anyway extreme people seldom live live long healthy lives.... |
Truflame:Give me one, just one example where a media house was invaded and journalists or publishers arrested anywhere in the civilised world. Mark you the west has been fighting terror far longer than Nigeria. American troops for example have been in Iraq and Afghanistan for over 20 years and three regimes, thousands of casualties, billions of dollars spent, plenty successes and failures in equal measure amd ALL reported. Every American citizen knows the exact number of soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines that have died in battle down to the graves where they are buried both in the battlefield and in Arlington. Do you know even know how many troops Nigeria has in Bornu, thoughtless of those who die everyday. Do you even care to know. Yet you are quick to support those who suppress information and cover up their inadequacies, military failings and corruption under the guise of demoralisation and anti-propaganda. Shame on you folks. |
That publising house is actually suppose to be SHUT DOWN for good. What insolence!
For what reason should they be shut down. They are not in the employment of the military or the government. They are doing the job for which society pays them and they are accountable to society only. If the military is uncomfortable with that they should go to court and obtain a restraining order preventing the press from reporting on the war efforts, then bear the consequences of a media blackout, period. |
