otipoju:Yes watch, 'people behaving badly' and others. Comedy right?. But folks get injured, badly injured (of course they will not air those) and sometimes the cops get involved when the joke or prank or skit is not understood or appreciated. If I sat at security control monitoring the CCTV and someone was doing that at a function without prior notice, what do you expect me to do. Go up to her and ask if she was a comedian, c'mon use your head. I repeat, do that in certain quarters in Nigeria and you will lose your life, simple. Hind sight is always 20/20. If she did not come out publicly will you be here talking this. And if she was not called out on social media will you know her thoughtless of the fore knowledge it was a prank. Abeg sit down. Even the humble April Fools day has cost lives in the past. Jokes can go wrong. No one is saying don't prank but there are real risks involved from embarassment to injury to death. |
Why didn't you add a gun to the skit. We watch comedy skits all the spare time we have and when they go wrong yes the police gets invited and your simply explain yourself away. Madam your activities carry a certain degree of risk. That you're surprised about such risks speaks volumes about your level of awareness and enlightenment. |
APC has won gubernatorial positions under Buhari in Kogi, Edo, Ekiti and Osun states. The victories were fair and square. The party lost in Bayelsa and Anambra. This President would never manipulate victory for anyone, not even his own party. And you ask us not to trust him? Of course, We will! We will vote for President Buhari over and over, again and again, because he can be trusted. You can trust him with the resources of the country. He won't filch them. You can trust him with power. He won't misuse it. You can trust him with the well being of the land, he cares. Therefore, let dem say!
Democracy is not about individuals but institutions, not strong men but strong systems. Answer this question. What happens to your future when Mr. Buhari eventually leaves office. You must consider the future as well. That is the hallmark of an enlightened individual, the quest for sustainable development. That is simikar to the role of a wise father who does not make the life of his children about himself alone but about learning values they will need in future when he is gone. If Mr, Buhari cannot leave a legacy where every subsequent leader has respect for institutions and the rule of law, then whatever gain he claims to have made will be wiped out instantly and his deeda forgotten if the nation mistakenly elects a bad leader. Look at the United States. Because institutions over the generations have been strengthened no single President can totally wreck the country economically, socially, politically or religiously. Their personal prejudices are heavily moderated by institutional imfluences. This is what we need. If the east knows the north cannot wake up one day and wipe them out then the call for secession will abate. If the north knows the south cannot unilaterally box them in and strangulate them then he will not seek to expand his territorial imfluence but readily vote a southerner into power. Institutions moderate the excesses of powerful individuals. They engender trust and guarantee the stability nations need to develop. My friend you need to grow up and learn the route by which nations develop. Where we are is where the developed world was in the 17th century. It cannot make us compete with the modern world and that is why despite this government all indices of developmwnt remain grounded four years after. We have not improved in any aspect of life and living whatsoever. |
Arsenal and career defining, career ending player injuries sha. Eduardo, Van Persie, Santi Cazorla, Wilshire, and that black chap who played something like 3 times in 3 years.... funny enough when these guys leave the club they spring back to life. Cazorla is having the time of his life at Villareal now. Is it the style of play, the training regime, diet or what? One thing I've noticed however, Arsenal players rarely ever bulk up throughout their time at the club and sometimes muscle mass in the right places help. |
CilicMarin:Since the APC wants to play the ethno-religious sentimental card as its joker having been dealt a bad hand, it should not complain when the tables are turned. The APC has a chequered history of bitterly complaining about the fruits from the very evil seeds it sows into the polity. It shoild get ready to reap the whirlwind. |
slumcat:Yep. I travel with my inverter kit in my trunk. I can't stay without some sort of power supply 24/7. |
goaldynman:It is not necessarily having a bias towards or against a particular political party or politician but what such entities stand for or represents. In America you hate guns and you're immediately tagged leftist and liberal. You want religious rights you're immediately tagged right wing and conservative...you have bot called anyone's name..... yet. And it can cause rancour at your employer when taken for granted. The polarisation of society based on political ideology is gradually coming to Nigeria with its own grave consequences. |
dalongjnr:Watch CNN for five minutes....you will think they are owned by the Democratic Party, conversely Fox News. There is no such thing as unopinionated journalism. |
dalongjnr:Honestly it is a very touchy subject matter. Where does privacy begin and end. Where does public responsibility start and end. Footballers are sanctioned when they post erring mesages about politics, the game, their clubs, team mates and coaches. CNN recently sanctioned a correspondent for disparaging comments about Presudent Trump on his personal social media page. In the corporate world the spokesman of Samsung cannot be caught dead or alive using an Iphone or a manager in Mercedes Benz driving a BMW. Do they not have personal liberties. Of course but cyberspace projects part of the personality the employer compensates when he pays a wage so he has part control of what is put out by the person involved. Every employer has a code of conduct that controls everything from dressing to mannerism. What he should do is either remain anonymous or move to a media house that is pro his views. For instance you cannot work on Chelsea tv as an open and brazen Manchester United fan. You cannot work for Dove tv as a practicing Buddist and you certainly will not last in Fox tv if you are a card carrying liberal democrat. His boss moved to the PDP in an acrimonious manner. What did he expect. |
Thank God we have a President that does not intervene in the rule of law. God bless our PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI
Then obey the courts and release the 3.5 million naira per month gobbling Shiite leader and at least save the nation some change. Selective action on any matter is not indicative of respect or understanding for that matter. |
See the huge untapped potential in this virgin wilderness just begging for ideas to transform it into an exotic paradise of immense financial potential. Stock it with enough game to attract the international hunting fratenity. South Africa earned 1 billion rand from the hunting industry while the African cut of global hunting is worth 200 million dollars annually. That river he crosses can be used for game fishing, it can be bridged to generate electricity.... the potentials of clean, open wilderness around in those places are endless. It just takes visionary leadership and the right structure of government. Cut his umbilical cord to Federal funding through Niger-Delta oil resouces and watch these potentials come alive. Without restructuring those communities will remain like that for the next 100 years. As I was telling someone a few days ago our present economic structure whereby oil revenues from one locality is shared to be used in another locality hundreds of kilometres away is like buying a generator for your house in the city and expecting a successful, sustainable connection to power your country home far away. Of course it will be expensive, there will be frequent breakdows due to vandalism and theft and even if successful there will be loss of fidelity at the village end, i.e low voltage. That is the sum of the state of our national public finances. If the Nigerian state wants to lower the cost of governance, guarantee regular income and eliminate corruption completely it should ensure a structure that expenditure is made at the point of income. States, local governments and all other independent institutions and tiers of government should be free to command all the resources within their borders to develop themselces while paying royalties to the tier immedistely above for administrative purposes. Then Abuja will become as ordinary as Washington DC is to America. |
This is nonsense. Is that a hospital or mortuary because an unconscious person will at least have the basic investigations running. Instead of doing that first they are looking for relations to begin to exploit and pester with outrageous bills and requests. If we cannot organise our health care to put the patient front and centre of the system then we had better outsource it to nations who can and remove it entirely from the list of responsibilities of successive failed governments. |
Chai....I laughed so hard I nearly had a seizure....chai these 'Twitterers' no go kee pesin..... na de tin wey we dey see for Naija. We told them so in 2014....change the game not the players.....2019, the year of demystification is at hand....expect more jaw dropping 'hilarity'..... interesting times are coming. |
Apples and oranges. You can do it sir because you factor in labour efficiencies. You can right size at will to hold the bill at previous levels. You can increase productivity to cover costs within a matter of months. Government 'molue business' is not as nimble as your 'Ferrari Corporation'. Your staff don't come to work at 11am, go for lunch at noon and clock out for the day after 'school runs'. Your workers most likely work Saturdays and some on Sundays so deserve even more,.... so Mr. Atiku, not the same thing oh. |
Predstan:Minimum wage does not end with the least paid worker so it is deceptive to use 18,000, 24 or 30,000 as a benchmark. Those working for goverment on a basic of 18,000 may not be more than 15 percent of the work force. There are those earning 35, 50, 100, 150, 200, 350,000 as basic and these maybe upgraded pro rata and moreover when basic goes up other perks go up as well as some allowances are estimated as percentages ofthe basic wage, then pensions will also rise to meet certain thresholds. I tell you the effects will be dramatic. Without a major, major rise in productivity, Nigeria is set to date extreme poverty and take her to the alter in the coming years. |
NaijaRoyalty:Lala is rocking his nu bae ... no time for crap. |
Nothing much going on there. Pass once every two months andknow that activitoes have declined steadily since the New Year. You don't need to visit the site, the level of activity in the yard is a better barometer to the casual passerby. Activity means more personnel, equipment and stores moving in and out. Its actually not rocket science... ....pun seriously intended. |
Nothing can be more important.... than the quest for personal development.... for the women folk it is unfortunately a mandatory responsibility. |
If I were to be Mr. President I won't personally go and send my representative instead or demand that the Kano state governor not be present if he must. I cannot for the life of me imagine how he will feel shaking hands with such a character ridiculed openly for brazen, embarassing, corruption. That picture of a handshake and smile will no doubt haunt him for years to come. |
Hasken2020:To pick out the leadership faults, governing faults IS HIS CAMPAIGN. Are you a kid, don't you know what politics is all about. Please watch CNN for just ten minutes a day on American politics and sky news for just 5 minutes a day on British politics to elevate your thinking. You are the team 'elect politicians and hope'... sit there and don't hound them to performance you hear. Wait for them to butter your bread....just assuming you are a bonafide citizen and not one of those government lackeys. |
Please criticise the point behind figures only when you have the details. We are too moved emotionally and disdain facts in this country and that is why the average citizen has little intellectual capital to contribute to the collective purse of his development. Adeyanju is just appealing to ignorance. |
Congratulations. |
Our good and perfect representatives abroad. Worthy ambassadors indeed.... ![]() |
powerhouse3:Please, you simply donot get drunk in public with a loaded assault rifle. There are certain things that are unpadornable, responsiblilties too sensitive, too weighty to let go. If the police force was in the clime of paying compensation for unlawful and accidental deaths believe me the penalty will have gone beyond this. |
ASUU is just part of the problem. The citizen backed government that refuses to withdraw from the business of university education is the problem. Do you hear ASUU in the US or Europe. No two universities there are related in any way thoughtless of having labour bodies that unite them to create a so called level playing field of mediocrity. Nigerians should sooner than later realise that with a body called ASUU and their modus operandi we can never have IVY keague universities and colleges because it is the mandate of ASUU to unify the quality of honours degrees across Nigeria by demanding socialism styled structures. If all Nigerian univeristies are equal you can never gain IVY league status. You wiln never have an MIT, a YALE, a PRESTON, OXFORD or CAMBRIDGE. If you donot have IVY league colleges you simply cannot attract alternate funding and investment from international and multinational institutions that all universities need to broaden and deepen their relevance to society and development. I repeat again. To sustain development of any enterprise quality not quantity is of foremost important and though ASUU may not know this. Its noble fights over the decades have not improved rather has corroded the core values education is all about, that is independence, critical thinking and solution providing. For all the life of me, are univeristies not supposed to provide solutions to government, to help government, not the other way round. How can an individual or an institution that claims to be the custodian of knowledge be so helpless as to cry out like a baby at evry touch of pain. Growing uo my mum used to say this: that education was the key to liberty of all kind. Hiw come the bastion of knowledge is so stuck in the viscous cycle of everything ignorance stands for.... poverty, helplessness, hopelessness. The learned men I knew of the world helped nations win wars against mighty adversaties with witty inventions, helped nations out of recessions with wisdom nuggets of prosperity, calmed hunger, pestilence, and environmental carnage. Abeg what are our ivory towers doing to help this country.....nothing of substance for all the angst caused year after year. Such a pity. It is time the government cuts them loose. The experiment with private(isation) is increasingly a success story. By the time the ratio of private to public schools reaches equity there will no longer be justification for government's presence in the lecture halls and laboratories. Government's interest will then be limited to paying the bills of students having the best brains and temperament to contribute positively to Nigeria's development. Then it will get value for its scarce resources. Nigerians should realise the big, big, big difference between the social service of basic education and the career bulding serious business which is a college education. Let us team up and put an end to this destructive architecture called ASUU. It is killing education, killing universities and killing the future of the youth through the deception of propriety while it us just a hollow means of self service. |
Human scum dragging this country's image through the mud incessantly. Degenerate animals making life harder for decent, hard working citizens of this country on foreign soil. I honestly just wonder how they get visas in the first place. |
And those fools around his unguarded rifle don't know they are just a trigger hair away from certain death. |
ThankYouGod:Hmm... planting maize in a swamp or planting rice in the sahara...you simply cannot make a success of every business in every territory. |
The big Delta is haemorraging its biggest and perhaps most colorful characters over the past half century. Dafinone, Okogwu amd now Odogwu. The landscape of swashbuckling braggadocio will never be the same.....interesting times. |
And how is the public expected to know that. How is security expected to handle this. Please report to the nearest police station with proof of intent abeg. Security round the world has assumed significant importance. Tomorrow you will be playing what... a religiously clad nut job placing an IED. Continue. |
PHIPEX: ... "Believe In".... You folks just make me laugh with the low level understanding about life, politics and how things work. Pally the one to 'Believe In' is God Almighty because of His track record. How can you look a fellow citizen in the eye and say " sir, I believe in you and I will give you all my power and authority to rule over me for the next four years of my 70 year lifespan because.... I believe".That is why the recurring disappointment in leadership and the state of the nation, but to be serially jilted by politicians amounts to absolute f.uck.ery. Daftness intoto. Please folks wise up and demand not believe. No politician ever and for ever will be given the keys to eldorado anywhere in the world without a chain around his neck and a sword hanging over his head. They are meant to be servants not gods to be submissively and piously worshipped in belief. Black man, biko, elevate your thinking. Rid yourselves from colonial era induced mental slavery. I will not employ a driver and ask him to take me to wherever he wants, however he wishes because I believe he has won the Formula One championship. I tell him where I want to go and how I want to go and he better abide or receive a query on the road to a sack. My work is to pay him, his job is to drive. We pay politicians so where does belief come in or the worse phrasical thinking...HOPE he performs....aarghhh!!!!!. |
Said enough about this tragedy. |
