Narow minded government typically retorting to its worn sentiment of 'stolen, steal' to berate the facts before it as if all looted assets can replace lost investment. Their jaundiced thinking that a fixed sum is more important than a fluid one. That is why all the recovered money has positively impacted this country abi. I repeat once again to these people as an adult self made citizen of this country that you can never compare SAVINGS with INVESTMENT and I have never prioritised the collection of debts from clients and customers over market share and expanding productivity. NEVER. Folks steal from individuals, from churches, from businesses, from institutions from NGO's and from governments all over the world all the time. It maybe accentuated in Nigeria as we know by global statistics and must be dealt with in this light but not at the expense of moving forward, growth, expansion and domination. The future is far more important than the past and this dumb government has to realise that. The loss of investment is bad and the consequences are dire down the line. Every country in the world even those at war seek investment by blood and tears and fervently keep the few they have by all means. I wish to remind the citizens of Nigeria about what happemed to Venezuela. Today they are literally eating from the garbage bin. Thousands have died from poverty induction. But it didn't start today. The late Hugo Chavez rose to power on the sails of populism, against the backdrop of inequality thought to be caused by Western induced elite corruption. He jailed businessmen in mass and sent others into exile banking on petrodollars to create an utopian welfare state of economic equality. Today despite being in the top ten oil produces churning out much more oil than Nigeria and having a lesser population than Nigeria to feed and cater the economy has tanked. The excuse has now shifted from corruption to the cry of sabotage under his protigy Maduro. Nigeria can not afford to thumb it's nose at foreign instotutions and think it can survive on its own. No country, even America and China can. They always at the end reach a compromise, swallow pride and get along. Let us do what is right or else... |
TOPCRUISE:Is there any law anywhere in the world that says you must separate fight. Abeg think well. |
LuciferKristi:So what should he do....jump in or dial 911... ![]() |
Ú obentenyson:Oga. Just admit Wengers time is past. He is in the league of the Van Gaal's, the Juup Heynkes, and the Guus Hiddink's of this world. They can no longer be relied upon to deliver trophies to the top clubs in the top leagues and that is the yardstick these days in determining who is a quality, world.class coach. The next generation is here. The likes of Guardiola, Zidane and Conte have set the bar so high that even hitherto middle (football coaching) aged gaffers such as Emery, Ancelotti and the Juventus coach are struggling to keep up thoughtless of the old cargoes. And it is the success of the youthful coaches that has enriced some of the biggest clubs to throw caution into the wind and appoint practically untested youngsters into their management teams albeit with mixed to disappointing results, talking of Bayern Munich, Monaco and AC Milan. |
obentenyson:And how come such a great coach ended up buying such average players.... or lunstics as you call them. Same lunatics that held Liverpool who would have wiped them out in the Wenger era. |
And people are complaining there is no job. Government should legalize bounty hunting in Nigeria.. All these fugitives of the law go appear sharp sharp....which reminds me of the need to watch 'Hateful Eight' again from my man Tarantino. |
cyndy1000:Indeed the other victims should shut up and go home abi. They have no right to make a complaint to the police. Your situational awareness and touch with reality is questionable. But the report on this forum about your female counterpart who lost valuables at an eatery some time back was different as she raised hell if her belongings were not recovered and the suspected employee prosecuted. I guess when the felon is female a wrapper must be sought by all means to cover up the shame. |
vedaxcool:Will you shut this brazen stupidity. People who have what you need are telling you what they want and you are talking trash. You cannot pay your workers. You borrow to build your roads thus mortgaging your childrens future and here are people willing to partner and you are insulting. You think investors don't have conditions and will just throw their money into any hole they find. If you go to a bank to borrow won't the bank give you conditions. If you borrow dollar will you repay naira. If I told you to bring money to invest in my business and I told you that you cannot get it back, what will you say. Did MTN bring naira into this country in 2001. If this silly government cannot sit up and clean its investment house then it should hang up a sign that clearly reads "closed for business" and we should go a borrowing. Thr same conditions these multinationals give us is the same they give to every country they invest in. Nigeria cannot expect to be treated differently. If this government is concerned about capital flight they should turn their attention to multinational contrators who come briefcase in hand and are awarded multibilkion dollar contracts to offer services we have not been able to localise in sixty years of independence. Some of these contrators came into Nigeria in the seventies and eighties and have laid down to skewer the economy being a constant feature on our annual budgets while ferrying scarce forex back home. The government has no problems withthese since their slices of the pie are guaranteed but because investors don't 'shake body' they are subjected to frustrating, vindictive practices and policies. Continue down to the path of destruction with jaudiced thinking . Shey strike is coming. You will beg for investment at any condition. Just wait..... broke ass folks deceiving themselves.... nonsense. |
I keep on saying this. That the anti corruption crusade is an impossible task without restructuring that will put power firmly in the hands of the people and not the few that happen to get elected into office. If you don't know HOW the withdrawals were made. If you don't know WHEN the subsidy payments were made. What are the chances corrupt practices have not taken place. What is the guarantee monies have not been stole. A people that depend on the benovelence of their leaders are bound to be led astray. The people cannot justsimply sit by and hope those in power do the right thing. No leader will. It is the fear of the people through thd scrutiny of institutions that ensures good government. Show me a leader that has no fear, no respect for the people, whether in the US, Japan, Zimbabwe or Nigeria and watch a nation decay. If the subsidy payments were right, proper, legal and desirable then why hide it, even from the scrutiny of the House of Assembly. This isghe road yo brazen corruption. Definitely monies will have been stolen and no Nigeria will be wiser for it. No one will be able to trsce anything now. We will just have to take the word of the government operators that nothing untoward has happened. To hope... |
Omololu001:Oga. Do your basic math and wax it with facts not blind sentiments so you can be a viable citizen. There are 1.5 million federal civil servants and there are 450 federal representatives. At 18,000 minimum wage the monthly wage bill if all civil servants earned this is about 27 billion. If this was paid to the reps that will amount to 60 million per rep as basic salary monthly which is completely out the ball park. Mind you I am refering to minimum wage and basic pay. When you add all the benefits civil servants earn and the mean wage of the entire civil service which may be around 30,000 to 40,000 then factor it by 66 percent being asked for the annual basic wage bill of the federal civil service may rise to nearly 1 trillion naira. Is that not a worrying level of allocation. What is the benefit in all these to yhe average Nigeria please. I mean the 95 percentile. |
macIB:That is why we are here, ignorance amongst the citizenry is at an all time high. You just read the news, pick out the flashy headlines and run with it. Yes there is corruption, yes there is imbalance in resource distribution but there is a little statistic of dividing the entire productivity of tje country by her population which dane minds use which ranks us as a poor country, period. That figure will not get each individual citizen of this country qualitative basics thoughtless of aspects of what you may consider standars of the wealthy of which college education is one. Today we may have around a figure of twenty million youth eligible for university educational status. A rudimentary multiplication of the cost per head per year to accomplish this to a decent standard exceeds the entire annual budget of the Nigerian state. That is a fact. Nigeria is a poor country. Poverty as a demographic is simply having too many people to cater for wirh very limited resources. Share all the income this country makes and people will still not be able to afford a decent life. |
Biglittlelois:But secretly you admire (envy) her courage, wish your folks gave you the latitude then set your sights for the race to the basement. Isn't that the thought process of the typical emancipated, modern day Nigerian lady. |
Charge them to court and get the legal ball rolling. Let us all say a stern "NO" to violence. |
Treat people well to stay alive. Live in love to live. |
Yes I am here again. What exactly is "Malaysia based". ....what does he do for a living... and then perhaps the case will be solved. |
sonature1:How is Nigeria rich. Be specific as one who comments from a standpoint of facts, not widely trumpeted assumptions. State the facts please. |
pyman11:That is the way it should be. That is the way all over the world. You should be able to carry on in the public eye after office. How many can. How many past leaders do you see on the streets. |
dairykidd:Because when a society takes pleasure in silencing voices, pretense reigns. If you want to know a man let him speak. When he has spoken enough lies the truth will eventually appear. If you want to know the politician who is genuine donot limit political activity to election cycles. Let them speak their minds all the time and their personalities will appear. It is like a man who will let his bride to be speak for the first time on the wedding day. Anything he hears, he has to take. If we can diligently court our politicians the way we do our future wives and husbands we will definitely make better choices. As they say, a bad courtship is better than a bad marraige. Let our politicians speak and act in their nature all the term. |
kidman96:Nigerian laws prevent constantly high level opposition politicking. Remove such laws and debates will constantly reign, not just in the run up to elections. I keep saying it. If the political atmosphere is constantly heated as you have in developed countries half of the leadership induced problems we have in Nigeria will be avoided. But typically here when a leader ascends to power the first thing he does is to destroy political opposition where he cannot conquer them and silence all dissenting voices with obnoxious laws like we see being championed so that no one can critique. And when you force it you are arrested. Very few of our leaders can stomach the heat given to their counterparts in developed democracies even though their performaces are considerably better. Don't blame Atiku, this is the only time he can talk and the laws enable him to talk only towards elections. And you invariably support that for so called 'stability'. It angers me but what can I do. |
This flux between individuals and institutions will never allow this country to develop. When will our leaders ever become entirely selfless and stop dragging people aground to their levels of depravity. Now these people want to ruin the reputation of the institution that conducts examinations and approves our young men and women for higher education. Why drag WAEC into this unfortunate mud slug...and the fact that the citizens of this country are not incensed that the credibility of their own certificates are at stake and should therefore condemn all parties involved is really sad. Institutions I know round the developed world guard their credibility with all intent and will seek judicial protection when they ate compelled to do what is unethical. The other day it was the NYSC looking forlon with the Adeosun saga, now it is WAEC that is threatening its own relevance for a public office holder who is elected today and gone tomorrow. They should extricate themselves from this mess and stick to their rules no matter whose ox is gored. Enough of this nonsense. |
Where is the picture of that stallion tied to a plastic chair.....indeed the mind is a very powerful tool and those who are shackled by it can never break free.. ..even the so called learned fellows. As I rise in my profession and advance in knowledge my wardrobe is positively changing from suits and ties to polos and sneakers. If you like don't come to my office. Na your wahala be dat. My performance is improving. Little else matters. Even after work these days I seldom change to attend evening church activities. I am me, the same person. |
The entire criminal justice system from law enforcement to the prison system is stuck in post colonial psychological trauma similar to the infamous Stockholm syndrome whereby we have adopted and loved everything the colonial oppressors foisted on us. |
ogtavia:Concrete is a legit construction element and can reflect acute architecture more than steel ever can. Moreover we donot yave the foundries tha can produce complex steel elements in Nigeria and to import them will be economically crippling. And then concrete is low maintenancein this harsh, humid, tropical weather we have. |
ourfather:Hahahaha....by 2019 everyone will be demystified. Everyday it is downhill. Nothing different from the past. Same ol same ol corruption. |
Just another boring Japanese brand. Performances are similar to other brands, resale value same as an ordinary Toyota, Architectire lagging behind European brands. Can't see the fuss. Just another Japanese brand. |
Legendkid:But he will get re elected by the same people who are collapsing from mismanagement induced poverty. Sentiment is real. |
Look at how thin and unhealthy he looks and the dressing...must have sold all his formal clothes to eat. This country is in a mess. I advice the people of this country to take their destiny into their own hands and start to pay properly for services rendered. If the public can pay that doctor he would not be dying like this. I see no reason why people would continue to procreate and populate the nation day after day with no plan whatsoever about how they will survive thoughtless of having a meaningful existence. |
What I don't understand for the life of me is that why an important component such as the tail rotor does not have redundancy. Any failure of that component is always catastrophic and survival from a tail rotor malfunction almost always results in casualties even if the craft hasn't lifted off. Why can't safety authorities insist that a helicopter must operate with two independent tail rotors... .... And make them ducted, that is completely encased as there are speculations the rotor may have been hit by a large bird or drone.... .... Or why not change the entire mechanism and replace the rotors with laterally mounted mini jet engines or duct exhaust gases from the turbine engines to the tail section to counter the main rotor to provide stability. It appear helicopter design has not evolved properly. |

The wife has a lot of questions to be answered. Her story is illogical on many levels. |
bayelsaowei:Restructure Nigeria to let anyone and everyone participate in the power industry then the investment will come in. My good friend wants to generate power in one of the south states but cannot participate. Government should have no say in power. Right now I have capacity to provide power in some of my locations on a micro scale. I should be able to inject that into the grid and get paid for it. But no. Government wants to control everything when they cannot provide nothing. |
kingthreat:When they are eventually driven underground and they become an armed group then your eyes wll open and you will swallow your bias like a bitter pill. Then you will know the value of peace and the cost of war. Continue to cajole the government to escalete the situation you hear. Ask your government how much has been spent and lost to the Boko haram when they cannot pay the minimum wage, when they cannot find funds to build roads, repair refineries and fund education properly. Then double the cost, double the debt and half the revenue if you add the Shiite conflict to the security bill. Use your head oh. |
