Politics › Re: LEAKED AUDIO: Fayose Says He Will Never Write Any Other Statement To EFCC by Reference(m): 3:40pm On Oct 17, 2018
Atikulooted:
" I promise to resign as Ekiti Governor if PMB return from London Alive" Fayose. The Punch 2017. Ayodele Fayose noted that the hurried trip made by the First Lady was a clear cut confirmation that President Muhammadu Buhari’s health had deteriorated.

When Fayose was insulting PMB with above statements IPOBS were his home base supporters club, where are they now when Fayose needs them most. Just like kanu they have betrayed him.

Very soon FFK will say, Fayose health has deteriorated more than PMB, if care is not taken he will soon die in EFCC detention. Karma is a Bitch.
Is insulting an elected official a financial crime. Abeg carry your primitivity out of here please. If they have a case let them charge him to court, simple. If insults gets you detention then a lot of those in power now should expect it when their time in office eventually lapses.

I just wish the vendors of serious goods and services could enhance the internet experience and commerce. I want to buy a valuable piece of equipment from T&E, Bertola, Atlas Copco and many more and I cannot at a glànce understand what I am buying let alone know how much it costs. I must of necessity make a phone call which istied in the web of red tape...and these are sizable companies while their smaller cojnterparts make do with marketplaces such as Jiji. So unfortunate. Its far easier for me to buy a piece of equipment from China than it is from Lagos and in some cases cheaper too.

The internet is not enhancing the real businesses in Nigeria.

Politics › Re: Ayo Fayose Arrives EFCC Office (Photos) by Reference(m):
This is nonsensical and unnecessary. Fayose is belittling the responsibility of governance and high office and making mockery of those who elected him in the first place. He should just go clear his name and spare us please.

And his PDP brothers are not helping him or their party by granstanding against the very institution that would have prevented them losing the last elections if they had allowed it work. And here they are again striving hard to prevent it working again.

Said enough about this tragedy and the way it is being handled.

We need ideas to solve it permanently and ideas will only arise with stern debates in a crucible of a functional democracy. No one knows it all and this is the Achilles Heel of this government.

Boko haram continues to thive in and exploit the dysfunctionality of the polity.

Grave for the APC. Now that anti corruption mantra will be viewed with regret. If they disqualify Ganduje he will certainly kick and the fallout will blow away the much cherished 'votes in the pocket'. If they ignore the elephant in the room the opposition will eat them like hungry lions in a safari.

Lets watch how the drama unfolds..... can't wait.

Told ya all....corruption is not the problem of Nigeria. Something everyone does is not a challenge but a culture and no one fights his culture but adapts it or adapts to it.

Too many foolish fools in Nigeria.
The list was complied months ago, too bad his PAs and Lai Mohammed didn't cross-check before releasing.
The man died less than 2 months ago and the issue of ban is more than 6 months now.

A genuine oversight.
Your standards for governance are remarkably low. In any other field of endeavour.... medicine, engineering, aviation.... such lapses would prove catastrophic. We are talking about law enforcement and jurisprudence where the sanctity of information and data is important.

Just shows how shoddy the job the operators of our government are doing. And how a citizen like you is prepared to put up with it for primordial gains. How do you expect your country to get better when those entrusted with its administration are given all power and trillions of naira to manage it.

Shame.

More northern APC governors falling like dominoes to the kick of corruption. First Yari's hotel, then the bullion babanriga, now the Masari movie...

Look, is anyone seriously thinking the war against corruption has made any impact whatsoever, I mean any impact.

By 2019 the whole thing will be totally discredited as I constantly say and I hope the narrative through the elections will ne something more beneficial to the average Nigerian. It is obvious this government is all about hot air. Not able to live to the standards it so deceived Nigerians about.

I don't expect anything to he done to Masari by the authorities. Nothing was done to Yari amd.two weeks after the story broke, silence about Ganduje. But if it was Wike or Fayose or Ortom, their cabinet members and commissioners will have been invited and grilled by the EFCC by now.

This is exceptionally dangerous.

I repeat again. Whatever precedent is set will live on and beyond the tenure of any administration.

Folks will get wiser down the line and future Presidents will forge all sorts of executive orders to do their bidding and guess who might be a victim tomorrow.

Let no one cry out in future. Nuff said.

This stadium in uyo was built less than 5 years ago and the pitch is already in a terrible state. Old Trafford was built over a hundred years ago and we all know the state of the pitch. Our poor maintenance habit has to stop. They can contract the maintainace of that pitch to private firms who will ensure that crusades, political rallies or conventions are prohibited
Wembley hosts American football, boxing and even motor cross. It is not use that kills, it is abuse. We suffer so much from ignorance. No one can mentally connect the dots. Good pitch means good football. Good football means success. Success attracts spectators. Spectators attract investment through sponsorship. Investment means maintainance.. ..and the cycle starts over.

Somewhere along the line an ignorant Nigerian in authority keeps on short circuiting the system. To get anything working in Nigeria you must of necessity attract the selfishness in a typical man. If he cannot see where it benefits himself alone, chances are that he will mess up the entire system.
Politics › Re: Can Atiku Abubakar Defeat Muhammadu Buhari In 2019? By Dele Momodu by Reference(m): 5:03pm On Oct 13, 2018
The short answer is no and hopefully not and these are my personal reasons.

The fragility of the APC. Right now, all the front line presidential candidates are in the PDP. The APC hardly has anyone beyond President Buhari who can win the presidency singlehandedly. This is entirely the fault of the APC as it has consistently balkanised power between President Buhari on one side and Mr. Tinubu on the other. This lack of diverse political power makes the party vulnerable to sucession battles that can tear it apart post 2019. The APC will have significant problems down the line and so I feel it needs time to develop internal democratic structures to rival the PDP. One term in power has failed to consolidate the APC and my fear is that if President Buhari is defeated he is done as far as high office is concerned. No one else will be able to hold the party together. The loss of the Senate president to the PDP robbed the APC of an important power base, the third leg that guarantees long term stability.

The PDP on the other hand have somewhat rebounded after the 2015 polls and are certainly looking the better for it at the moment. With tje exception of the southwest, the PDP has the best presidential candidates from all the other geo political zones in its fold and if it can keep them all happy its long term viability is secured.

Though this government has clearly underperformed and the candidature of the PDP is looking very promising, I still feel the APC needs more time to get its act together. It needs to become a proper, broad based party and not some sort of law or accounting practice controlled by the duo of Messers Buhari and Tinubu. If it cannot see beyond the two, its is not likely going to be viable long term. If the PDP wins in 2019, I cannot see the APC surviving as it is and this will be a disaster for the polity.

The last thing we want to see is a one party state. We have practiced a one party system for almost 20 years now and the country has suffered. We must understand that democracy is not the ascension of one party and the destruction of the other. Rather it is lije the piston of an engine. One should go down so that the other can go up. One draws in the fuel and air of popular optimism while the other drives off the smoke and heat of public angst. In this manner the country moves forward.

Keep on saying it. If we cannot get a replacement for Ighalo then we should forget about making any sort of impact. The Nigerian game is not based on a defensive philosophy. It is not based on total football, it is not about possession neither it is about high line counter pressing which the best teams employ today.

The Nigerian game has always been about quick counter attack wing play and for this to succeed you need a striker who is quick, comfortable with the ball at his feet, has a great one touch and above all is clinical. All our best strikers have been one in three poachers. Ighalo falls far, far below the standards set by previous great Nigerian point men.

The onus is simple. If a Nigerian team does not outscore its opponents it generally loses matches and doesn't do well in tournaments. Our present blunt strike force puts too much pressure on the team.

Politics › Re: Peter Obi Biography, Age, Atiku Abubakar's Running Mate by Reference(m): 6:33pm On Oct 12, 2018
The economy is clearly the issue front and centre in 2019 and this is a clear statement that the PDP wants to prioritise getting Nigeria working again. Good choice.

If (and its a big if) the PDP wins the economy will most certainly rebound and like I said days ago, Peter Obi is a big enough political weight to ensure the governance side of things is kept in the balance. Both candidates are more evenly politically matched than the APC's larger than life Buhari and the veepee who is for all intents and purposes ineffectual.

The election may be uncertain. I do not expect the APC to lose the 2019 polls but the debates will bring out the best in both parties and I hope our democracy will prosper from this. 2019 will turn out to be the best electoral contest in our short democratic journey.

Racoon:
APC should have long comprehend that changing the leadership of the NASS is completely beyond them hence no need for all the foolish manifestation of lack of political sagacity.
Besides the APC set the same precedence in 2014. So they should humbly stew in their own juice.
Indeed. Tambuwal kept his seat till the end of the 7th assembly even though the APC were the minority party.

A lot of the things the APC and indeed this government suffers has its origins in their actions when in opposition. It is hoped that the realization of these shortcomings will help to moderate the actions of individuals and political parties going forward making them more civil, democratic and more willing to follow the rule of law.

Okay. So present these criteria before the next elections and obtain firm promises before casting your ballot. That is how to get the country going. Let our democracy evolve to one of ideas and ideology rather than mere hot air and rhetoric.

The beauty of a virile democracy. Performance rises to dizzying levels of importance. It is clear that whoever or whichever party wins in 2019 will have to work much harder than this administration has in delivering the goods. I see 2023 in a better political light. Glad the PDP is back to play its role in building this democracy.
