suyamasta:Bello did not send them to scoop fuel from a fallen tanker. At the least their action amounts to theft. Now if the people have no shred of morality and no sense to realise the danger of their decision, how can such a people be trusted to make the kind of electoral choices that would bring someone other than a Bello to power. You see, Nigerians will always find an excuse for their failed society and a lightning rod for their pains when they should be looking hard at their own souls. Just as you cannot make smooth lemonade from rotten lemons, you simply cannot get honest, accountable, sane, visionary leadership from a people, an electorate that scoops fuel from fallen tankers. An equal tendency for political and socio economic implosion is inevitable. |
georgecso:Good morning. So Buhari is not the problem, so replacing Jonathan with Buhari was never the solution in the first place. As I said pre 2015, in Nigeria's zero sum game yesterday will always be better because Nigeria is like this solely because of Nigerians |
Karlovich:Talented youth should use the infrastructure to upgrade their skills as a viable alternative to an academic lifestyle than ends in the employment market afterwards and a lazy lifestyle that wants to eat, and eat snd eat away their destiny as you may be advocating. There are others who wish to have sporting arenas in their locales and will appreciate this small contribution of the state. If the government can diversify the aspirations of young Nigerians away from the narrow path of the academia to other walks of life it will depressurize the jobs market, make more Nigerians self supporting and cut down the levels of crime and vices prevalent amongst the society's young. |
sunnyside16:In your statement is the answer. The black man's focus is his needs, never his service. This incessant worship of our stomachs enabled slavery from this continent and it remains same till today. From the hordes 'escaping' to Europe and the Americas to meet 'their needs' to those who sell their votes and destinies for a cup of rice, so the sons of Esau never fail to enshrine corruption, greed and avarice. If we can be solution providers to the world not incessant problem creators, our needs will be naturally met by the world without sweat. A country like Nigeria where practically nothing works well is aching for ideas, inspirators and executors of solutions in all spheres of life and anyone who can innovate like those in DARPA will become successful, immensely wealthy and powerful literally overnight. I am a living witness of this in the life of my dad. |
With few acknowledging their interest and no one pushing an alternative agenda for the administration of this country, the polity is weaker than ever before and it is no surprise that the present government is drifting in and out of social consciousness when there is no tonic of opposition to keep it alive. May I remind the PDP and those who consider themselves independent prospectors that at this stage in the run up to the 2015 elections, i.e July 2014, the gloves of the APC was off and an all out political brawl was in place. Today there are far more fish in the barrel to shoot so it is indeed puzzling that anyone and everyone who should be relishing the opportunity to score cheap political capital is pussyfooting. I have said it again, that if agendas are not rolled out like yesterday they should forget about changing power in 2019. The only thing that can be achieved by a prospector in the short time that remains before the general elections is propaganda which in myopinion is like dough that requires the fire of public interaction and scrutiny to convert it into the 'bread of life'. We were made to eat the raw dough of APC propaganda and the nation suffers indigestion today. If Peter Obi or anyone else intends to participate at any level they had better stand up today to be counted. |
princepee:Could they enforce the odd and even number regime in the 70's when Nigerians still had some form of decorum, how do you expect laws to work today's regime of consolidated impunity. Surviving, future societies will be those run on ideas, not laws where authorities donot impose directives but partner with the people. If all the tanker owners were to upgrade their fleet arw you prepared ro accept the additional charge. Are ypu prwpared to inveat in alternative infrastructure and so on... these are the questions that only Nigerians can answer. What we see happening is the result of what we are prepared to accept...very low, bestial standards. |
sarrki:Hahahaha....scared of your shadow. Told you this will happen in 2015.. It is called PTSD, the fallout of wrong choices. |
MosquitoREBIRTH:Okay. , I thought Mr. Jonathan Government that was the problem, now it is Alhaji Buhari Government that is.My posts in the run up to the 2015 elections were clear. Nigeria is like this because of the cumulative infuence of the Nigerian. It is why I joined this forum years ago, to try snd understand how we think as individuals and as a people, and why I remain... to check how our thinking has evolved over time and experiences. And I must tell you the anthropology makes for dire reading. We have serious problems in this country. |
tiwiex:Did I hear restructuring...hmmm....the stars are aligning....we have said enough... |
I want him stay too but he should upp his game...and the NFF should upp his wages. |
Hmmm....this is an exceptionally dangerous situation and all parties must do everyting to step back from the precipice and de-escalate. The authorities must as a matter of urgency hold people accountable within the shortest possible time amd begin restructuring this country forthwith. |
Tarzan360:He cannot reach the ordinary Nigerian on the streets, those at the sharp end of the tragddy. He cannot press the flesh because of the baggage he carries. That is symptomatic of a ruler, not a leader. |
Just get light and fresh air in and the rest will be history. |
If a serving, ranking senator can be arrested and detained for days for allegedly supporting a separatist group what is stopping the DSS from making an example of this man and others who have been openly vocal in support of the genocide going on. Does it not show a clear sectional bias by those in government. And if the Buhari led administration cannot move against this terrorist group from his region then in the light of the kind of racial politicking we play in Nigeria, who else will when the seat rotates to other regions. The idea in our infantile democracy is that when a president is elected from a particular region it is meant to pacify the peoples of that region who should naturally exchange their agitation for the power they wield.at thw centre and not abuse it. That is why Obasanjo was 'given' the presidency at the turn of democracy, to pacify the yorubas over the MKO debacle. And it did develop the democratic culture in the west. OBJ moved against most of the diversionary elements in Afenifere. GEJ was given the presidency to pacify the agitative Niger-Delta and in the Yaradua regime the Delta was largely quiet. GEJ was on record to move against MEND and other violent diversionary movements. The result was a better democratic culture in the south-south. Now power is in the core north as a result of their agitation, Buhari should broaden the democratic culture there and move against these elements threatening the peace and unity of Nigeria but he remains silent against them and continues to excuse their excesses. This is completely out of culture and will cause serious problems for peoples of his region in the future. It will become extremely hard for the rest of the country to accept a Presidency from that region again. |
Hmmm...so.those who buy the humble golf and passats are actually footing the bills of the rich Bugatti owners. So much for fair play. |
Vickygarl:No sir, I played while I was a kid too... I cannot see what benefit that has accrued to me today. Rather the things I know today I wish I knew sometimes back. Yes water is nd essary to make a soup, sand is necessary to bulk concrete, nitrogen is necessary in the atmosphere to bind other gases but if you undestand that the end is what important then you will find ways to integrate play into objectifying vision or finding a better substitute for play. Most of what we do and by extension what we permit our kids to do have no bearing on our future whatsoever. They just erode the precious time we have to be whom we should in the time space of our lives. And that is why 95 percent of people have one or two regrets at the end of it. |
Poor parenting. Writing lists like the Laws of Moses that are an invitation to sin. Is this how to raise a child. Most folks don't donot realise thd purpose and function of children because if they did the formation of children will be well planned and templated. What a so called list should contain are objective steps towards a set target. These children have a limited time to learn the steps to actuslise vision and should be occupied in that way. If she can envision her child you and and map outa path towards that objective eithset targets of performance during the holidays she doesn't need to worry about what he does on day to day or hour to hour basis because a individual who has personal goals to achieve dies not squander time on mundane issues. Any activity without purpose is death and any purpose without vision is dead. Tne power to make a child into a successful citizen person is in getting the mind to dream, think and plan. Please, please, please parents.... play is the exact opposite. |
If this fellow is not at least called in for questioning to clarify himself then we can conclude that the security apparatis of state is compromised and it will be the beginning of the end of this government. |
The curse of the defending champions befell them. |
The owners of Nigeria resist restructuring, but the more they press their agenda and compress the rest of Nigeria, the nearer and surer the flash point will be reached when there will be no Obasanjo to provide a release valve. When that man eventually goes it will be the north squaring up against the south face to face. In years gone by this government said corruption was the biggest problem facing Nigeria, I said 'you must be kidding'. Today Mr. President is trotting in a hurry to his plane in the billowing rain not because Mr. X stole Y naira but because the country he is supposed to preside over is quaking and collapsing at its centre. We said this time without number, they did not listen. Is he sending Magu with his red tunic boys, no. The money they are recovering is being wasted in placating, relief, IDP camps, reconstruction, more arms and ammunition, helicopter gunships and endless medical bills, so what is the point really...what is really important to us all....the state of the nation is.... Mr. President, time is ticking towards an inevitability, restructure Nigeria now. |
But I don't know why anyone thought we could qualify. The first match spelt it out. That we were not prepared and we lacked the quality required at this level. Most of the time the bookies are right. They are the most dispassionate entities. Mere mortals dream fairy tales. You should realistically get disappointed if you had a Salah upfront, a Messi in midfield a De Gea in goal and a Loew in the dug out. Not in the Nigerian team. |
Ighalo is really, really poor. |
xcel20001:No close control. Slide rule striker. Poor player. |
VAR is a mess. In a normal match the ref won't have even considered it. |
Soft penalty. |
But no one seems to consider what will happen if we qualify out of that group... obviously in second position. Will it not be France in the second round....hmmmm. |
All on a red carpet. When Theresa May went to Grenfell was there a red carpet. What about Bush to Katrina ravaged New Orleans or Obama to war torn Kabul.... this country sef.... and why does Mr President never ever attend to these things personally... why. |
After widening the roads the regrets will come decades later that these medians were not used more efficiently for tube, train or trams. The black man is notorious for lack of vision, short-termism and 'knee-jerkery'.He only reacts, never plans. Whatever disturbs his comfort and senses must receive an immediate and thoughtless clap back. |
Elder001:Come off it abeg. There are things women are better at than men in the greater percentile and there are things that men are better at than women in the greater percentile, simple. It is no ones fault. It is the orientation most Africans are exposed to from youth. |
..... Wrestlemania fans, what do you call the move in the first picture abeg. |
Women try for dis one abeg. |
....beginning to think the term 'sacred cow' was coined in.... the Niger Area.... even parts of India where cattle are gods... surely not at their parliament. |
