Nbote:At least you can still use it while charging. We value phones for different reasons and I still have a symbian phone to cover the lapses of android once a while. |
Good one. Not oil, oil, oil. More grease to militant elbows until Nigeria is completely reformatted.. .. since they don't want to hear the word restructured. |
Prime reason, economics. You can imagine how a potential structural hazard a basement will be when the free standing structure above is unsound due to cost, poverty, etc. Secondary reasons: climate. The bulk of Nigeria is tropical and thus basememts will trap heat and moisture making natural living impossible. Another reason leading from this, services such as power to declimatise the space is not available and constantly unaffordable. And drainage, fire rescue, etc all government inputs are dodgy so why take THE RISK buildng one when you cannot afford to make it work properly. Peson no dey take im hand dig im grave. Na anoda peson dey do am. |
..... you have to erupt quickly or pay extra.... what drilling license. Abeg your customer na volcano. I begin dey think say na geology dem dey discuss. |
Silly man, dump foreign goods indeed and to think his daughter on her way to a foreign land using a foreign airline was his blackjack. Na you God go forgive. Instead of learning from the pitfalls of your predecessors, accomplished parrots who ate the kings porridge and have turned to revolting vultures. Them plenty well well. You have signed your professional death warrant and you will be sentenced to public infamy henceforth. So sharapp and may God have mercy on your soul. |
Excellent post, just excellent. Didn't know this man was so learned in economic matters. Reached the TSA point and stopped reading. This is exactly what I have been saying for months. Now is not the time for TSA. That money should be given the banks as bailout and not domiciled with the CBN which is not a business interface at all. Note: I did not say reverse or discard TSA completely. Banks should never be revenue collectors or holders ever again, but the funds should be made available to them to use in designated ways, for specific periods and should be repayed with interest to the treasury. Let government use banks as the fulcrum, the engine of economic recover while it plays its own part as navigator. I believe one of the reasons why foreign capital delays in coming is because our local banks are viewed as weak and vulnerable partners for any investment drive. And everyone knows that banks will not trade with you without your serious counterpart investment. Secondly is the issue of the deregulation itself which js viewed as half hearted by both local and foreig investors. The Naira is still not floating free and it is causing as much friction and heat an an electrical partial contact which can short circuit the economy and set it ablaze. For goodness sake these investors see the corruption the pu.ss.y footing has caused and will not take the bait. My concern now is that I hope the 2020 is not misunderstood to mean when policies will be righted because even in advanced economies with tested, high tech recession recovery tools, the light typically takes 5 years or so to emerge at the end of the tunnel. So you can imagine how lomg it will take us who are further bogged down with real, fundamental, structural socio-cultural, socio-political problems and have no experience or competencies to guarantee a recovery anyway except for the mercies of the lord of the black oil. |
Will it spur a debate about allowing CCTV in hotel rooms. With the lack of proper forensic investigation in Nigeria, one can put himself in a real big embarassing mess investing in the hospitality industry. Am seriously considering the options before taking a decision because hotels and potential serious crimes are like flower fields and bees. |
I remember a post a couple of weeks ago about guys who kiss and tell. And girls were all up in arms. Now the tables are turned what is ya responses. Told you guys, sin has no gender. |
Kockane:Wuse is an inner city slum abeg. |
freshness2020: Yes, I am deluded because it is a waste of time.as far as I am concerned. Is there anything I'm going to miss by not buying it, is there anything I have missed in the 'Apu 6 '.....capita, no. Next. |
wickedtuna: Hmmm... peraps we get 'ransome round tripping'. He simply pays you back the 5million and asks you to return to the sender with a red letter. |
Out of the 180 million people in Nigeria, how many have been at an airport, passenger or cargo. The wise man will build the capacity of his people to use an airport. The foolish man will build and airport and wait for his people to aspire to use it. Nonsense. If Dangote needed and airport, he will have built one for himself by now. |
phemmyutd:I'm just stunned. I think am ginna lie down. I don't just get it. Cargo airport for what exactly. Why are these people so senseless, I mean, thoughtless. What is this airport going to do and for whom. Why can't these governors begin to think of their post oil economies. Like the coming of Christ to a Christian, why can't they smell the end of oil, the socio-economic armageddon coming and invest properly in creating and enhancing the tools of wealth which is people focused and people oriented investments. I will always tell people. Look at forbes to the 100 rich list. The richest and most influential people trade and create their wealth by serving the ORDINARY people. Their goods and services are consumed by all and sundry. That is why they donot have dry days, dry years or cyclical success, their customers and clients number into billions so thy are billionaires. Mark Zuckerburg does what, mass communication, Bill Gates goods are in almost every computer and a good number of phones. Carlos Slim, the Waltons, name them. Where are the vendors elitist merchandise such as diamond rings, private jets, designer perfume, expensive clothing and mega mansions. Where is Donald Trump on that list. Can you compare what the best singers and composers of classical and other elitist music earn compared to Jay Z and Beyonce for instance. These government people are so, so dull. They can't even take example from Nigerian success stories. What is Dangote trading in. Cement, salt, sugar, noodles. And his success in those has taken him to the level of oil and gas, power and heavy industry. This is the way nations are built. This is the route to lasting prosperity. If Dangote needed a cargo airpprt by now he will have bought or built one. We have always said, if it is transport that is biting their brains why not establish rail links first. Instead of trying to reach Malaysia by air why not reach Portharcourt first at least to decongest the Rumuokoro roundabout which is blocked with unsavoury, lawless transporters day and night plying that route. I totally agree with Gowon when he said the problem of Nigeria was a paucity of ideas, not money. And because money has not found proper expression for 60 years, poverty has been issued a Nigerian passport and is dwelling in our land with a chieftancy title these days. |
kaziblake:Let's get one thing straight. God blesses people. And God is not poor, but is Almighty. When He gives, the world will get to know. It cannot be hidden. However, what we choose to do with the blessings is where we rise fiurther or fall into sin. Buy say a pastor or just another church member cannot own a Rolls Royce or a Boeing Business Jet is just nonsense. Thinking. For goodness sake, who else are these things for. |
We better exorcise the curse that destroys every seed of hope in this country. There is something very wrong with Nigeria. This country is sick to the bones. |
Ramanto:Really..... ....hahahaha....kai, kai, kai, una no go kill pesin oh.... |
idupaul: .... hahahaha.....una no go kill pesin.....hahaha..... where was I when this news broke. |
Hahahaha.... just when you think you've heard it all, then something floors it. I mean floor it. Folks, can we get any lower...hahaha... is this genocide loading... |
By 2019 eveyone will be demystified. Another bites the dust. It is the system folks, not the players. Nigeria chews you up and spits you out like smelly septic phlegm. |
sukkot:Abeg chill there. Are governments elected on the basis of oil prices or on the basis of performance. Was the GEJ government not castigated towards the end for these same problems and they featured on a lot of APC campaign adverts. If Buhari knew oil prices will be a determinant of his performance he should have backed out at the primaries because oil prices were declining then. Elections are all about progress and governments are elected to provide progressive ideas. Watch out. Come 2019, what do you expect the manifestos to say? 'We will provide an economy depending on the oil price. If it falls to 10 dollars, sorry' and see whether you will get one vote'. |
mekonglobal:And this is also because women take a lot more things for granted than men. Men are usually more objective when asessing threats. |
ladyF:The man. What is a male domestic for. |
Drew0:Hmmm....but you can allow such a dirty girl do your dishes, clothes and care for the chidren.? |
martineinstein:I think it is a poor reaction to the new found feminist movement in our society these days. They still have this prehistoric macho mentality that views women as trophies, spoils of war, fit for pleasure and nothing more. |
ladyF:It is because the topic related to the female gender. Maids are female. The exact opposite will apply if the topic was about man servants, house boys, drivers, guards, etc. The husband, the man, would be extected to take charge and set the ground rules for contact and conduct. But you must accept that the woman is the CEO of the home and women are in the overall majority when it comes to close quarter domestics. What I will advice is that couples can have maids up until the children no longer need home care then the man gets a butler to handle his domestics. |
AdeniyiA:The job that Nigerians give them. We can say that we don't want it anymore and the system can be changed but our psyche is only attuned to seeking bread and meat. |
So they will be away for effectively two months. When you calculate their collective salaries for that period, what this country has lost....just sickening.... |
queenfav: You women are impossible. Presumption of innocence abi....ok na.... when it comes to relationships, men are always guilty as charged, even near death. Go and tell this to the man with his chest carved open like a slab of beef. |
Well, what can I say, congratulations to him, but I wouldn't do such except if specifically instructed, so that it doesn't appear as if one's love and desires for a child outweighs concerns for the wife's health. I could remember vividly while visiting a maternity when a family friend welcomed their second and the man rushed to inquire about whether it was a boy or girl and the nurse was like, oga you no go ask about ya wife first. Sure that was a mistake. Of course she was more important than the child, and I strongly suggest this man calls it quits after this. |
proxillin:Good one. When they say poverty, it is anything but a lack of financial resources. Rather, moral and mental poverty. |
These are some of the perilous situations the peoples of that region face on a daily basis yet get no sympaghy from the rest of Nigeria. Their 'lands' are dotted with hundreds of islands big and small with thousands of potential crossing points and they face these morning, noon and night all year round. Someone somewhere whose journey over water is no more than a hairs breadth over a gutter will come here and prove why they don't deserve more attention. The corper was on his way to his primary assignment. That shows there are people where he went to serve. Real people whose needs are as important as those in Lagos, Abuja or Enugu. Sad loss, sad country. |
damola311:Well, corruption in Nigeria is defined as what the other man is doing....not I, we or us. |
