janellemonae:Hmmm, tying of hands connotes bondage, kidnapping, hostage taking by the PLO. So we have to rescue Fashola from the power ministry and when he is free he'd better run for his life like a real abductee or we will smell a rat, begin to believe this entire hostage drama is fake and more of BDSM. Folks have you heard the joke about the Nigerian police stumbling upon a BDSM sin party.... |
Nothing but the truth. Totally agree with Sanusi on this. Power, Aviation, Communications.....for whot....nothing but useless politicking. |
So that they will not spill the beans abi. Talk of corruption fighting back. Relax, OBJ did far more than this and gave up eventually when the web he spun to crush his enemies eventually roped him in. Corruption always wins. EFCC, hmmmm, speaking of beans, what again is that proverb that speaks of the impossibility of retracting trapped wind once it explodes out of the lower orfice. |
This is profiling and it is unnecessary. Except if there are credible threats or they belonged to banned organisations I cannot see why they were deported or why anyone should be concerned about their safety in their midst. There is freedom of movement you know and preachers of different faiths travel all over the world and to Nigeria to spread various messages and win converts to their cause. Nothing wrong with that. |
Which kin nonsense kweshun be dis. You tink say 20 billion dollars cash dey enter handbag..... |
Rounakid: Ronaldo and Messi, Fayose and Fulani Herdsmen, Avengers and X-men. |
Adehakeema:You are right but this is where there is justice. You only break laws where there are laws. If murder meant jail time or any sort of recompense then anything else is described as extra-judicial but when murderers go about their business then the society doles out invitations to anarchy. So if government doesn't want a downward spiral, if it doesn't want to lose control of society then it must grab the wheels and be seen to deal with wrong doers. Don't bring that NEPA philosophy into the argument where citizens are taxed to buy and operate generating sets, its madness. |
orisa37:Be careful what you wish for. If government places an embargo on religion in any shape or form you yourself know that it is not Christianity that will suffer because it is not regimented and antagonistic but rather flexible and tranquil. The wisdom and love that drives it will surmount every adversity and cause it to thrive. |
SeverusSnape:......hmmmm, sort of agree with it. Few arrests, no prosecution or jail time I've heard of.....anyway our problem is corruption not so.....so |
400billionman: Yeah, I call them portakabins, not houses. |
The 'Time of Completion/Duration of the Project' is determined by the 'Programme of Works' which is in turn heavily influenced by the various schedules and specifications. In a 'nutshell' a project's duration is determined by how 'detailed' it is. In a groundnut seed, if you can view your project with a binoculars it shouldn't take long, but if you need a microscope it can take almost forever. There are five bedroom duplexes that can be built in 4 months while others may require 4 years of uninterrupted construction. Naturally both are incomparable and unrecognisable. And by the way if you want certain original handcrafted Chinese sculpture, ornaments and tapestry you may have to wait 40 years while they study the lost art and another 40 years to recreate them. |
spiritfada:Abeg they should go and sit down and stop all this grandstanding to fool their tadpole brained fans. Is Magu not corrupt. Let the former Pension Taskforce Chair come out of hiding to tell us where he kept their share. After seeking virgins Madam Pimpster will send them to the hot house to collect dues on her behalf. Nonsense. Pastors wey dey sin pass first time worshippers. |
vicadex07:He is better, at least he does his openly while most of you do so unwittingly, by default so much so that it borders on personal deception. Oya, list those you support and let us roll out their dossier. When I tell you corruption is not the problem bedevilling Nigeria you don't believe. |
Shafiiimran99:Sir, with all due respect, is this the place for such, coming from a people always apt to lay criticism of unwanted provocation. You know the response this will get. Why do it. |
....is there something I don't understand or what. Please, what else should they be fighting for apart from their pockets. Is a better life now a sin in the Niger-delta but okay in the rest of Nigeria. These people are so dense. I just hope light hits them one of these days. Its like saying the Brits who voted for Brexit were doing so for their own pockets or Nigel Farage or Boris Johnson or the Scots voting to remain in the Euro. Everyone of these are doing so because of the potential economics involved to them as individuals and their communities. If the Niger-Delta wants its resources for itself, is it different from the Brits who want their jobs and social security for themselves. Osibanjo has clearly allied with the establishment, the owners of Nigeria and has placed himself on the wrong side of history, the ignominious side. There are no peoples whose desire for freedom can be trampled upon forever. Take it from me. He is a pastor and should know better, that liberty is God given, it can be delayed but can never be denied. And he will answer in history as one of the deviants. He should watch out. The only way to keep Nigeria together is by mutual agreement and I repeat again, Nigeria owes it a duty to its citizens to make the country attractive to stay in just as a family must be attractive to make relationships stand. A husband that forces his wife to remain in a union she finds intolerable stands accused of cruelty and abuse. Even if he has no material thing to offer he should at least show love for that union to remain but everyone of them abuse the people of the Delta in words and deeds. Cruel, abusive fellows indeed. |
So glad. Tired of the crap called android and the hopeless phones and tabs they run that can't last a quarter of a day on a full charge and wouldn't allow you use the damn thing while it is charging. I need 3 devices just to get 24hr coverage. |
kraftykc:Not sure it is awesome. When it comes to power stations that generate from gas have you asked what percentage of installed capacity is actually operational and utilized. From those in the Niger-Delta and as far as Geregu, how many turbines have the gas to spin. And the fact that you have such an abundant potential energy mix should excite and interest those in authority. If you had coal stations in addion to the oil and gas fired ones you will not fear the arrival of the dry season because you can schedule fuel fired stations only to operate during the long dry season and run your hydro turbines flat out during the rainy season without a fear of conservation just as those who have solar power in their permises welcome daylight and utilize it optimally. |
Mixed news. Good they are trying their best to move the power situation forward but gas again......arrrrrgh. Dem no dey taya for wahala. What are other regions doing abeg to contribute their natural resources to the salvation of this country. Must it be gas and more gas and associated gas and cooking gas and intestinal gas and....., haba. Nigeria wil never develop this way oh. You are in the middle of a low level insurgency and still insisting on all your eggs in a very oily basket. Partner with China to build and operate solar system industries in the north, more dams in the middle belt, coal in the eastern heartland and wind power along the Camerounian moutain range. What is being done practically about these. Why only lip service to diversification.Once that contract is done with the government should place a moratorium on the development of new gas plants until concrete moves are made to change the status quo. We should have set targets for diverse power supply sources and work towards those targets. No country I know of desires to carry on this way. Even Gulf countries with abudant petroleum resouces have set a new course. |
XaintJoel20:Well you are right by half because yes, there must be a bride before a wedding but if you sort out all those....what do you need investment for....gorrit. So the government and we the people must decide what our responsibilities, what our obligations are. This is where the black man, the average Nigerian, the government consistently fails. What must we, represented by government do and what should we leave for the rest of the world to do. For starters, no nation can be developed by outsiders but no nation can prosper by nationals alone. Development precedes prosperity. Development is a deliberate, persistent government organised people-centric movement while prosperity is an individualistic, non governmental, random affair. So when you go shopping for things to fill your country with consider carefully what is possible and what is not. The general rule is that government handles development, investors handle prosperity. Investors DO NOT TRADE WITH GOVERNMENT. The only foreign capital that comes to government is aid, grants and debt instruments. Foreign investors generally hate and wish to avoid governments. So whether it is arms for the military, urban roads, shopping malls, ebola vaccine or a new national carrier we must know what we need to do to get what we need. |
mmsen:Oga stop being ignorant. An economy is not a bowl of solid, homogenous eba. Not everyone makes money the same way. Some do by imports, others by exports. Some by savings, others by spending. Some by internal investment, others by external investment. And I have always said, devaluation can attract capital inflows to purchase bargain assets if (big if) the government can get organised. There are individuals and companies right now doing exceptionally well because their assets, goods and services are ridiculously cheap at the moment. In one instance, if not for the terrible reputation Nigeria brought upon herself over the years through 419 our youths will have been reaping the benefits of a weak naira to strip India of a huge share of its offshore cyber-telecom services to the developed world. But we are basically untrustworthy. |
gloryman91:There is no need for a communications ministry. For what. The fact that you donot hear anything means it is dead, redundant. A waste. Same thing for Aviation. These are purely private sector things from airports to airlines. |
Perfectionist11:I agree. He is a club guy through and through. I think the problem he has is football sickle cell. The AS from Spain and the AS from Argentina donot match. That indoctrination at La Masia at such a young age screwed up his football identity badly such that as he developed in the game he became less Argentine and more spanish. With such strong tiki-taka genes he should have changed nationality to Spain after the Junior World Cup he won. The jury is still out on whether he can be effective in any team other than FC Barca. |
Stelvin101:But destiny will not bring the cup to your bedroom and wake your lazy ar.se up. Everyone knows you create your own luck. If that is the case when will Mr. Destiny arrive Nigeria with the world cup na. We need it. Only if you knew Portugal's record in the last 5 Euro championships. Oya, go check it out. |
sportskid:Na. That crown belongs to Edison Arantes de Nascimento aka Pele. FIFA player of the Century. IHHS holder of most goals ever scored in a professional career at over 1,200. Most league goals at 541. Guiness Record Holder. 3 time world cup winner. There is no comparison in terms of achievements whatsoever. Pele is simply the G.O.A.T. |
todayguest:...and nations are not built by individuals but by nationals united in one purpose. So when one is substituted for the other then the destination is furtherest than ever before. Nigeria beware. No one should be indispensable. |
Just to pick on one point for now, the second and the importance of team spirit as regarding Nigeria, its leaders, its people and its polity. Can we say the same. If the Nigeria was the Portugese team standing against such massive odds are we constituted from leadership to commoner, from captain to physio to win anything. Is Nigeria not Ronaldo and the rest. Can we win if he limps out in the 25th minute?....hmmm. |
Guyman02:That is the way to live. Just avoid confrontation and provocation. Anyone in this time and age who does not apply wisdom will pay for it. I keep on saying, a Christian is worth more alive to God than dead. Donot waste your precious lives on incidents that are not worthwhile. There are thousands of other people that lady could have met, numerous messages she would have preached, countless lives she will have been DIRECTED TO SAVE. Why those people, why that place. God is not a waster of resources neither does He sacrifice His children to His pleasure. Christians donot die like rats. |
cyprex:Honestly I hope so and like I have been saying for years, it is the system that matters. But thank goodness the electorate is beginning to realise the shortcomings of individuals and personalities and hoping that their voters card remains a viable to bring about change whenever they want it. That change is no longer a person's pet name nor ghe slogan of a specific political party but indeed is a movement, a desire and understanding that the ultimate power belongs to the people and they can rise above parochial senti ents to free themselves from whosoever troubles them. I am confident that the PDP will resurface. What is happening now is likened to a snake shedding its skin or a chick emerging from its nesting egg, a tough struggle with an inevitable outcome. They have five, six years to get it right and they will. Listening to Iyamu at campaign in Edo north on telly this morning I couldn't but help noticing how things have changed, have developed in the polity, not for them because he went on and on promising this and that, scolding the present government left and right. After a few seconds I just turned it off. That is improvement. The fact that we're getting fed up and digusted with classless politicking and the antics of these people shows that the electorate is getting wiser and will rather see the picture behind the canvas. We are getting there.....slowly. |
bobgem001:Noticed it too. Doesn't look a bit......gubernatorial. |
But why should she be in the vicinity of a mosque to preach or am I getting the story wrong. Where again is the Scripture that says 'be yea as wise as serpents but as gentle as doves' and in what context was it said by Jesus. That was not wise and could so easily have spiralled out of control into widespread violence had all the usual ingredients been in place. Abeg Christians, you are worth more to God alive than dead and the redemption of sinners is a joint venture between God and man so listen before acting. Sometimes the people who you assume haven't heard the gospel have heard it and God will handle them in His own time and way. If they don't wan't it at any given point in time, dust you feet and go. They will hear eventually. |
Quakertellicus1:That is what happens when government gets involved in business. It just doesn't work. Sports in the 21st century is a purely commercial, purely business oriented enterprise. How many sports remain in the amateur ranks. Which country doesn't pay its athletes and rewards same for success. Does this sound like the civil service...., no. Until we admit that government cannot handle sports the way they couldn't handle telecoms, airports, power and petroleum, we cannot move forward. All we need is the NSC to regulate to ensure their pet sins of federal character and resource control are protected. Just leave the rest to the private sector. Give the NFF a commercial face and watch most of those problems vanish into thin air. And now that government appears not to have any moneys to do anything at present, this is the opportunity for sports to delaminate itself from the state and forge its own identity. Are there any takers. |
.......the stench will be like eh..... |
