gartamanta:When the FBI massacred members of the branch Davidians in Waco, what did the governor of Texas do. Oya do ya research and let us know why all the Niger Delta governors, South Eastern governors and some northern governors are not wearing camo to work, brandishing AK's at the bequest of their people. People just talk without thinking. |
doctokwus:What is wrong with pipeline contracts and amnesty money. It belongs to them. When has giving them their resources become criminal. When herdsmen trample and takeover peoples farms and eat everything leaving only devastation why do people complain and fight back. Tell me what is the difference between the herdsmen and International Oil Companies. Afterall both are backed by the owners of Nigeria in their selfish interests to feather their nests and further their cause. Pally, what is good for the farmer is also good for the fisherman. It is not the ND militants that created Boko Haram. It is not the militants that fund and operate the religious sect so you can take your angst elsewhere and leave people who are merely fighting for their betterment which I repeat, is not a crime. What is Boko Haram fighting for. |
And the funny thing is that some on the pilgrimage train will be owed several months of unpaid salaries. Now government is subsidizing their travel to pray for things to get better, and God in heaven will be like...."I've heard your cries and prayers to me but go back and tell your leaders to improve your lives from the money you spend to get here". Mbok, is this not spiritual round tripping. |
No. I don't believe this. This must be some sick joke. Warris dis. Ha.!!! I am so stunned. .....think am gonna lie down....kai Nigeria....why.... |
This is why the Nigerian project as propelled by this government is resisted. The type of resistance bacteria, viruses and pathogens develop when they are coaxed by partial treatment, improper drug therapy. The administration had a lot of political capital to spend on difficult but progressive decisions but dithered with subsidies before caving im, now it is burning through its pockets with yet more meaningless subsidies. How can it justify subsidizing an 'event' when some of its participants haven't been paid their just wages. What is it telling God indirectly. |
Godsate:Pally, it is not new so don't lose your shirt while going balistic. When oil prices were a mere 13 dollars and our foreign reserves was a paltry 9 billion dollars with a debt overhang of 32 billion dollars, pilgrimage was subsidized. I repeat. This is not the worst recession in Nigeria's history.....although I do admit I had previously never seen an Acura MDX TP and a Merc E350 at a taxi stand loading passengers to Berger/Wuse....I was stunned. |
What is all this noise about. Pilgrimage has always been subsidized in Nigeria as long as I can remember, in good and bad times and this is certainly not the first recession this country has faced. America is just out of one, Britain is falling back into one, Japan has been more or less in recession for the past 20 years, yet their citizens don't go around in sack clothes and ashes, rolling on the floor in cynical delurium. Haba, Nigerians. |
deebsman1:Pele....I told you times without number that corruption cannot be tackled under this structure. You guys are just wasting your time. By 2019 everyone will be demystified. |
Only restructuring will save this country. It is always religion and tribe first before any consideration that unifies us as an entity called a nation. Pity. |
Just send the girl to me to raise like a human being abeg. Evil people everywhere. |
baby124:Controlled with what. You want to maintain a lifestyle with falling income and eroding savings. How can you do that. |
Bullsheet defense. |
See Siasia's red eyes. Lack of sleep. Mbok see your doctor Sia1. No Keshi things here. Nigeria back in front. |
Typical Nigerian sluggish play. Penalty to the Japs. |
The P.A. just announced an apology for the anthem gaffe. Wack olympics. Goal Nigeria. |
They can't even get the national anthem right. Wack olympics. |
Failed parenting once again. |
felixomor:Most sensible thing I've heard for a while. Been saying it for years. Change the gsme, not the players. Nigeria is still playing the same game to we are 18th on the league table....iin the relegation zone. Clinton said we need strong institutions not strong men. The stronger the man, the weaker the institutions and the weaker the nation. |
Stupid, foolish, idiotic, senseless people. Looking for oil, when there are proven solid minerals in those areas. Is this how this President wants to diversify the economy away from oil, by looking for more oil. Why are we so daft, sentimental, and silly. You can imagine what that amount will have done for other minerals, agriculture and industrialisation, not to talk of infrastructure, how about ICT, what about education.... Is the black man cursed to be subservient, producing inly raw materials, sniffing only petro fumes,......or are there no countries without oil, with very limited natural resources but eat from their hands and live by their intellect......and are doing just fine. Just fed up. When are we going to ever move forward in this country called Nigeria... |
koboko69:If you asked government to pay that 156 billion, will they be able in this age and time. Abeg use your head. If Nigerians cannot and will not pay for electricity, they should stay in darkness, simple. There is no more oil to subsidize the lives of lazy, indolent people. Ask those in diaspora what they pay for steady supply of electricity and see what you deserve. |
Once again, silly man. You gave out a loan that has gone bad and you blow your brains out...... |
Silly man. |
Well understood sir, and I share the same opinion, that you cannot conquer hate with hate, and that the Christianity we are a part of, the faith we met and will leave behind when we depart from this world is clear on this. But what will you say about the accounts of Acts 12:1 -4+. Because this incident will please a section and the pleasure will drive a widening and deepening of the problem. In the Bible, Peter was taken as well and if not FOR PHYSICAL INTERVENTION, his release from prison by angelic intervention, he wil have been WASTED as well. And I will emphasize wasted because I consider the life of a frontline Christian too precious to be wasted like that. Sorry to say so but if it was Pastor Adeboye slayed like that in the course of doing God's work or Kumuyi or Oyedepo and so on...will thousands, millions of Christians and unbelievers alike not suffer untold consequences.... What we are saying is that one life is not more important than the other and these terrible incidents though forgiven must be addressed like the church did in the time of the apostles, both physically and spiritually. |
Public works to build the infrastructure that reduces the cost of living/business. That is the only way to turn an economy around.....and I'm not talking about Chinese rails or Julius Berger bridges, all leading to net capital flight. I am talking about mass manpower, 100% local content, low tech projects. Identify an area of competitive advantage such as agriculture and build every sort of infrastructure to support it, rural roads, irrigation canals, storage and processing facilities, etc. |
And some folks say corruption has reduced under this dispensation. And I was telling someone, that perception is simply because the majority have no access to pubiic f0nds, its not just there to be stolen. The few that have it are stealing and this case is one of many hidden out there. If you want to reduce stealing and to a larger extent, corruption we must restructure and put to an end the financial system we practice. |
That is why I say we don't have a country just a gathering of people with a myriad of often conflicting interests. Can't see all around but where is the Government or its agency he served for much of his life and almost up to the period of his demise. This is why when people fight to death to be public servants in Nigeria you can be co.cksure is must be for ulterior motives far, far distanced from the ideals of selfless service and stewardship for what is this country worth in the eyes of most.....nothing.... not a farthing. The day the Kaiser eventually leaves....or even Edison Arantes de Nascimento, you will see how people and their governments value humans and their contributions to society. Even Cassius Clay (Mohammed Ali) who was a draft dodger (forgiven felon), a black activist in a racially divided country who excelled in a now dying sport considered crude, primitive and ungentlemanly was treated as a hero he rightly deserved to be and even in death feted by kings. If we cannot do better than what I'm seeing here for Keshi who is arguably the most influential footballer this country has produced till date then....its just too unfortunate....really sad. If Keshi is not some sort of hero...then who is, or can a society pretend it doesn't care or need one. I really don't want to read about Keshi anymore. We should just leave the man and his family alone. His legacy will forever be an indictment of this country and what it thinks it stands for. |
we've gone over this issue time and again...and my answer remains the same. As a Christian I don't believe I will be faced with such a choice by His mercies but if I have the answer is clear, it is wife first. That is God's will, that is the future, that is my destiny, that is logical. It is everything that should be. The other choice is one of emotion alone, nothing more and I look at it from the other side too. I will not wish my child to choose me over his or her future and destiny, that will be selfish. |
faari:Hmmm. If you cannot trust anyone with your money, how can you close your eyes to sleep besides such a person...It appears you have serious trust problems or are in a relationship you did not build at all, just entered with all sorts of assumptions. |
No. There is no need for that. What you own is hers and what she owns is yours so why create another. They are for people with trust issues and not for people in communication, with vision and drive...and of course, in love. These days of electronic banking you should be able to use her account and she should be able to use yours. If you hoth have a problem retaining funds then you could open one for a set objective but not as a lifestyle. However if you both Direct the affairs of an enterprise you should both be signatories to the business account so that things could move smoothly if one party was absent. |
Allow the candidate Obaseki sell himself. Is it him contesting eh. Going around everywhere. Is Obama hanging around Clinton's rear end?, haba. In normal climes the candidate will always be wary of being too closely associated with his predecessor to ward of any negativity and forge his own progressive agenda, but you see public officers boast of how they are led kicking and screaming to the seat against their own will, thus the people should live with whatever they get 'because I didn't want it'. Obasanjo selected by the junta, Yaradua selected by Obasanjo. The only democratic change we have seen is the election of Buhari so why are we still hanging to the coat tails of unwilling candidates, accidental servants, according to El-Rufai. |
If after due diligence it was found they offer nothing to Nigeria, then I'm in full support. Can't see why we need more than 6 or 7 embassies at this point in time. They can leave just one on each continent, nothing more. |
Hmmm....and that is why the agitation for resource control will continue, because what is good for the goose is also..... |
