3rdlegxxx:Because that is what the APC folks did to get into power. You must be very deluded to think it will stop when things are getting worse. Most Nigerians don't know how nations work. You folks capitalised ö that and appealed to their raw, crude passion, now you want them to be civilised, educated, enlightened and critical. Are you serious. Can't you see that the problem is not with government but the people. Suffering is indeed good for the soul. God uses it. |
wirinet:Okay. I thought it rises and falls with saints and sinners in Aso Rock or rises and falls with the broom and umbrella. You people sef.... Abeg, change the game, not the players. |
wirinet:Thank you. Let them keep on wasting their time. It is those who are deceived I pity, thinking if you jail two dozen people Nigeria will become Switzerland. While they maintain the status quo they have successfully milked since independence. It is so glaring that the Nigerian state is unworkable as presently wired and operated but what can I say, another establishment figure is in power. I can only hope our sufferings will elevate our thinking tiil the breaking of the dawn. |
islandmoon:Silly comments from an establishment figure. |
Even if the price of oil rises to 5000 dollars a barrel Saudi Arabia cannot becone a US or China or have the peace of a Norway or Sweden thoughtless of Nigeria. If we don't restructure this country and we continue to play this game, we can only lose. No matter how much water you pump into a basket, it cannot quench your thirst as much as a spoon. The di3ference between a spoon and a basket is....structure. There are countries which produce more oil than us but careless about the price because of....structure. They don't DEPEND on it. Dangote is symptomatic of what Nigeria should be. The price of cement has remained stable. He is apolitical, detribalised, a capitalist and until recently had no business with oil. Now compare him with the average Nigerian, the average state and the nation at large. See where we are and where we should have been. |
Temi231:When I did alert people to the need to take personal responsibility, when I did say the Presidency is overrated. When I did say we should elevate institutions above individuals. When I did say we should restructure our nation. When I did say we should change the game rather than the players. When I did say the majority of Nigerians donot have a clue as to how nations are built. When I did say without equity and justice we can never see the promised land....Nigerians said the one and only problem is corruption and remove a bad Jonathan and replace him with a good Buhari and all other things shall be added unto us. So....how far? |
When these top (Tier 1) managers come to the Premier league they either get it right, like Ancelotti, Ranieri, Hiddink or get it so pathetically wrong like AVB and LVG. Mancity is taking a big, big gamble that may backfire. Nothing is given. |
Both the SAN and the Judge are done. |
lookandlaff:Thank you. They don't know that they make things more difficult for themselves. Am sure Ogar will be biting the fingers of regret where she is. Worse, no one ever learns from it. If people think the corruption war can be won from a polarised perspective then he should ask God Almighty who saw that all the force in heaven and earth couldn't make the old testament man righteous but by appeal through Jesus Christ are millions saved. If the APC and Buhari cannot move the corruption fight to the centre, the battle is lost any way. Nigeria CANNOT develop without involving ALL her citizens. A pail cannot successfully carry water until the integrity of the ENTIRE vessel is guaranteed. Politicise a national malaise and accept failure. Period. |
MCMLXXVI:That is why we say that Nigeria CANNOT develop. No country can move forward without institutions. If anything happens to Buhari, it is all over. Just like crude oil, to the economy is Buhari to governance. The Nigerian puts all his eggs of hope in one fragile basket. |
This is not good. The EFCC is certainly over once Buhari goes. Build institutions at the expense of individuals....sorry. |
fistonati:What are you laughing at. Are you not aware that our prime industries such as Dangote export to the sub-region and is it not in your interest that they dominate their markets to help with our balance of payments. Granted we don't make much but we are competitive in the few things we produce such as cement. Though the naira has lost 30% of its value lately the price of cement has remained stable showing that it is a wholly made in Nigeria product and giving credence to the fact that we can safely devalue our currency without the world ending. And believe you me, devaluation is a legal and far better means of shutting off imports and promoting production and exports that banning and restrictions could ever be. |
lonelydora:Be informed. The EFCC prosecutes, the Judiciary weighs and if found wanting sentences and the Nigeria Prisons Service incarcerates. There is a long journey at hand between the crime and jail time, even lasting several years in some cases. |
Buhari had better send their Personel files to magu for economic 'check up' before hearing. |
adeoladrg:Yeah. And how we love to bash doctors who monetize life a play acting God. Greedy lot. Just watch this space. By December they will be demanding special exchange rates of 1 naira to a dollar from the CBN and before the decade is out, first line charge from the treasury. Afterall they are more important than the judiciary and legislature combined. |
....There are two black birds sitting on the wall. One named Peter, one named Paul.... ...Jude.... ![]() |
Don't you just like capitalism and free market. Who will pity you. Did you pity buyers when prices hit 5k. Like almighty black gold aka crude oil you misread high prices and out of greed overproduced. Next year hang onto your wet season profits and keep your greed in check. Crude oil and tomatoes. |
Gaskia:What kind of rubbish insight is tha.t. If it your personal money that is being spent this way or your personal company run this way will you be asking what is 30 minus 1 is before firing 29 of them. |
NavierStokes:If I talk people will think I hate all things government but the truth is that until and unless we restructure our nation we have no hope. Change the game, not the players. Imagine folks without productivity asking for a pay rise so they can continue procreating and sinking this country. Nigeria. |
shamecurls:It is not a matter of 'if' but 'when'. The APC will eventually be voted out of power. That is a sure fact of multi-party democracy. And if the PDP can stabilize it will be right there to take over. The PDP will not vote itself into power. It will be voted into power by the same people that voted the APC into power, disgruntled Nigerians and believe me they are growing by the day. |
Yet another proof that the change we need in Nigeria is basic, fundamental and systemic. Because what we have now is 'garbage in, garbage out'. It is not capable of generating good leaders and good leadership. That of the ruling APC is bad enough. Now we have a worse future with the kind of sofware producing the likes of Ali-Modu. |
And the waste continues. Detached from all reality. Shocked when the people react. Deceived by few. Learning nothing. Doomed to repeat inglorious mistakes. Certain to fail. |
Very proud that someone in authority can give this much publicity to our local industries at a time we need radical reforms not just in our economy but in the mentality that makes things happen and not happen. If this can be done by every political and government official, every captain of industry and every man and woman endowed with the power of financial choice, Nigeria can change. |
hustla:The 3D's. Devolve, decentralise and devalue. I will try to explain but I'm on the road. |
Parcks:You are not protecting the naira. You are protecting importers of toothpicks and pampers. Protecting big oil financial monopoly, de-industrialization and mediocrity. |
hustla:If you like hang everybody until the hangman hangs himself it won't change anything. China is currently facing the same problem. Heard it on BBC yesterday. Despite their draconian laws there is widespread illicit capital flight. The rule is 50k dollars max. transfer by person. There is widespread over invoicing, fraud and identity theft/collusion going on right now in China. People just want to get dollars out by all means because the government stubbornly refuses to devalue. No matter how you spray a swamp the bugs will always re-emerge because the atmosphere is perfect for them. To stop them, drain the swamp. Restructure Nigeria and rid it of bugs. |
sholatech:Devaluing the naira is not in their interests...the owners of Nigeria. If he does that they will remove him. The status quo must be maintained, so they will. |
INTROVERT:When I say structure is the most important thing in Nigeria people say it is corruption. Can we see how poor, bad structure CREATES corruption. See how bad structure destroys what would be ordinary hardworking men and women looking to make a honest living. When Buhari says everybody is corrupt he is right by half a measure. Yes they are but sensible people ask, but what makes them and makes them so liable, vulnerable. Of course, the system they perpetuate, the system a.k.a status quo that selfishly needs to be upheld in the interest of certain people. We are just wasting our time with this so called ' corruption war', playing the same game. Buhari will have to build prisons on every street to contain Nigerians. Mrs. Kemi alluded to 23,000 'ghosts' working for the Feds....just add spiritual prisons with angelic warders to her payroll. |
saintkel:You are the ones discussed here, 'weak in spirit'. I chose to judge because I know the Word of God in person. As a son of God I am expected to judge because I know right from wrong and courtesy of the Spirit of God I choose right, so no one can cast an emotional spell or hold on me. It is babies that cannot judge, cannot decide. God in the time of the law (not even in the new age of grace) appointed MEN to JUDGE so what are we saying. Jesus is our high priest. If we allow Him to minister in us, God's Temple, we have and can exercise the full authority of the God head. Justice and judgement is one of them. 'and whatsoever thing you condemn on earth (stands) condemned in heaven...'. You must understand that. I do. |
fallout87:I've also heard a number of things specifically about his beginings from a sure and exposed source that leave a lot of questions and much to be desired. That's why a number of folks want to know his roots, his origins. A person of such influence should, must have a history. |
Same thing Buhari caused in 1984, import duty racketeering and essential commodity cartels through failed policies. By the time he left the Customs became largely what it is today. I can't understand why this currency regime is maintained. We say we want to industrialize, we say we want to develop yet we continue to subsidize, to prop up importers and damn the few exporters and forex providers with stupid, unrealistic rates. We steal from Peter to pay reprobate Paul. |
Seriously doubt that the PDP can sieze the Oba's crown. |

Why are there no staff buses for low earning local government staff?
