Okay ma'am. Abuja is now officially designated security level Kabul. Bring those Beemers in for an upgrade. We have depleted uranium, ceramics, Kontakt and Kevlar. Just 5 million dollars apiece. |
Moringa, moringa. Don't tell me his last exclamation was Haleluyah. Idris, Idris!!! |
texaco1: Thanks . Do they operate online money transfer out of nigeria too through dom acc?Sure, I 'capital fly' every month. |
I'm satisfied with GTBank's especially with improvements in their web services. My prehistoric days at Intercontinental/Access are a distant memory when I will have to pump iron, dress in bear skin and carry a panga just to transfer a few greens. |
So what are our people up to here in Nigeria. North-South, East-West, Hausa-Igbo, Ijaw-Nigeria, Christian-Moslem, PDP-APC., Military-Civilian. And on and on without end. There is nothing that unites more than two Nigerians beyond money and football. That's why we do well in both. But that's all. |
Gombs: Just answer my question first!Sorry. I didn't know how to place the flat tyre thing in biblical context but literarily if I had constantly flat tyres I would consider the quality of the road I ply. If I changed an old tyre that would not give problems for a couple of years...so set it well. |
Gombs: If you own a car and was constantly worried of a flat tyre, and finally you brought in a spare tyre, would you still be worried about your car having a flat tyre? All spirit beings are created free moral agents meaning they have a will and can exercise it. God himself, Angels and Man cannot be 'forced' to do anything. You cannot compel God, God cannot compel you. The bible tells you not to upset angels because they have a will. Satan chose to trouble God. God has given us a choice, an opportunity out of love. As you can see even on this forum many will never find the fire exit. It is not God's fault. Or have I completely misunderstood your context. |
If we are going to be slaves to our bodies and feelings I can assure you that Satan has a dossier of 'fixes' that will last a life time and completely derail us from the purpose of our creation. For Satan that is mission accomplished. |
fatwallet: exactly. if i don't like my pointed nose i have the right to seek improvement.it doesnt mean i am rebelling against God.Same ol, same ol. The serpent told Eve, 'Oh God doesn't want you to have this and that, know this and that, He's dictatorial, the garden is really a prison, bla, bla. Now we know better. The bible say donot be conformed to the world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind. It is a mind thing. Cosmetic surgery is a product of perception and a desire to conform to certain ideals. The feeling of inadequacy is the source code of all rebellion against God and that's why He wants our minds elsewhere, focused on Him. He is your Creator and know what is truly beautiful and what is truly ugly and has promised to help our inadequacies himself. Christians don't need the 'world' to set standards for how people should look and feel about themselves. Its all smoke and mirrors. My grandma is all old and wrinkled. To me she looks fantastic, normal. Do I wish she looks like my kid sister... Haba. Let us think na. Where are these lies coming from. |
Gombs: He asked them that because He knew there's no way they'd have known they were naked except they ate o that fruit or someone told them. Not because He designed them to be naked and they all of a sudden wanted clothes.Oga. God is very, very concerned about sin despite Jesus. The fact that you build an emergency exit doesn't mean everyone will be saved when fire breaks out. Daily thousands die and are lost permanently. Of course God is concerned with who we are and what we do. The apostle Paul said that, 'should we go on sinning that grace may abound...? Yes, His love for us his creation cannot be broken but it is 'HIS LOVE'. Where is ours... when all we love are our bodies. Can you take that from your wife, husband, children, boss or President of Nigeria. |
BigBen10: For those of you saying its a sin. Please dont wear cloth again oh because that means you are not grateful for the way God naturally created you. Strip naked now!Sorry sir but God didn't create you naked. We allowed the devil strip us naked and believe me God tried by killing, by 'sacrificing' to cover us up. He's been doing that till today. |
Cyrus Levi: Same way he created Siamese twins and every human born with a defect or another in his image,I don't see how on earth it's a sin to have a correctional surgeryGod has given us all we need for life and godliness...the problem is discovering them. That's what the Holy Spirit was sent to do so fellowship and you will discover. The problem is that we often look for 'laws' saying don't do this, don't do that. Christianity I'm afraid is not about laws but grace and in Jesus Christ was fulfilled all laws. Laws are for the descendants of Abraham, Jews today. It is because laws could not keep pace with sin that Jesus came. You will never find 'plastic/cosmetic surgery' in the biblical lexicon but the Holy Spirit has it covered and any other contentous issue that will ever arise in future. |
Where your treasure is, there your heart will be.
I guess this sums it up. My attitude and I believe that of God is to view the 'end' of things. Purpose. Destination. What happens at the end. Will it endure. Like Tpia is saying. The bible tells us not to major on things that age, fade, rust, rot but on things that endure. Cosmetic surgery by psychology and physiology doesn't endure. I mean when you do one your mind wants more. That is slavery. And physically these enhancements are often temporal. Wayne Rooney's hair plant is already greying.... However if a person is involved in a disfiguring, disabling accident then to enhance the quality of life repairs should be done where possible. Once again the key here is in which realm you live. If you are spirit minded the size and shape of your parts 'matter less'. You know its all going soon. |
Chartey: Most people saying it's a bad policy are just being sentimental. It's not just any business they're talking about, it's only for RETAIL businesses. Retail businesses are mostly meant for locals because no special capacity which can't be found in the country is needed for those. Most countries in the world have such laws. Maybe Nigeria even has and doesn't enforce it. This is no persecution. I'm just tired of people doing business illegally in other countries only to cry foul and play the persecution card when the law catches up with them. And how do you define retail. Selling rice and beans or selling us our own Nollywood movies and charging us 11,000 per month for it. C'mon. Any product or service in the world can potentially be delivered by a local....if they can compete. |
Mugabe and his death wish for Zimbabwe. So. Hope his fans here can explain how fruit is possible without pollination. There was and will ever be the busy bees of the forest. Mass hunger is at hand in that land. |
Mr Aboki: Dino should go and swear that he has never benefitted from corruption in Nigeria..I don't know of any Nigerian who is not a beneficiary of corruption in the real sense of things. From the grand illegality called Nigeria, her government, her budget, her structure... Everything is tainted. The system is designed around corruption. There is no counter, teller, till or piggy bank in Nigeria without stolen, laundered money in it. This is one huge black economy. But you must start somewhere. There's no one outside the pit looking in. We are all in it and the earlier we get fed up with this filth and focus on getting out rather than squabbling the better. |
Persin wey get buggatti veronica
Haha. Yuze is that you. |
Chiefpriest1: Congrats to the people of Jigawa. I trust Nuhu Ribadu to always do the right thing, though he's not perfect. However, that position is too 'small'. This man needs to keep operating at the national level Classic banana peel. Many will slip up. |
Ha,ha. Nice one girl. Quite true but believe me it is perfectly acceptable to, as it were, stress the syllable because frankly we live in a 'stressed' society and in 'stressed' times where extremities are required just to get by. Liken it to a man living in the tropics who buys a fan or airconditioner. Do you realistically expect the switch to ever be set low. Or a refrigerator with our power problems. The environments says a lot. |
funnyx: That's why I don't listen to all the recent yeye songs, give me Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey songs anyday anytime! Over 40 decades they are still evergreen, same with KSA and Barry Wonder. Children of nowadays I pity you na skelewu your generation fit produceEvery generation had a 'skelewu' moment i.e. A perception of decline and decadence by the preceding generation. Rapping and the break dance generation is an example. Some stay some fade. Like my dad will say its all perception. We will always view things as declining but is it just because we are out of our comfort zone.... But 'Oliver Twist'.... I like Beyonce....' Sorry D'banj in twenty years.... I doubt that. |
j You don't seem to have musical hearing then, I'm probably more critical of Nigerian artists but to denounce their creativity is absurd. The current stock of hip hop artists are so lame and just recycle the same ol trash that an average artist like Kendrick Lamar is calling all of them out.
Of course there is perceptible decline in the quality of music production and the music industry in general globally and not just in America no thanks to illegal digital downloads. The internet is a great tool but the music industry has often been short- changed. Album sales revenues have decline. I am not surprised interest and tastes are departing from music for private listening to dance hall, concert, commercials and film adaptive music because that's where the money is. Its the internet abroad and 'alaba' pirates locally that are changing the face of music unfortunately for the worse in my opinion. Just imagine. What is 'gangam style' and poof, gone like the wind. No substance. Just a fad. |
I think like most things Nigerian the music scene reflects the society we live in. If we want quality we must demand it and be prepared to sacrifice, to pay for it. I believe if artistes get their dues through strong intellectual property protection institutions the quality of music will improve. More time will be devoted to research and development. If artistes will earn income long term they are more likely to produce fewer but better quality works. But if their primary paymasters are MTN, GLO, and the rest, they will produce music akin to adverts, short, shallow, made to catch attention, customised- product driven and no more. Its up to us the public to sieze the initiative from big business and 'big men' by ensuring our beloved artistes get paid their dues. And it starts by paying for music. |
yomalex: Limpopo. That is the key. Persuation through repetition. Its like hypnosis. The reason why radio stations and the intellectual property guys are at each others throats and the artistes themselves are betwix. The first time I heard 'Skelewu' I was like, this is a huge risk, man this is bad, real poor but a few months down the line its some sort of fad. I think longetivity is the key. 90 percent of tracks here barely last 12 months on the mind just like Nollywood flicks, just like cheapo chinco mass produced stuff. I remember the period before the Nigerian music scene when you could wait 3 or 4 years for a new album release. We will get there when our artistes advance to more 'mental music' than the current dominance of 'dance music'. Style plus may be gone but in ten years I will be appreciative of their musics. Can't say the same for Oliver Twist et al. Right now our music is all Faith....hearing and hearing....and dancing alone. |
icebeatz: we are planning to buy the house and the "rent fee" we paid is like a trial buy.Hmm. You plan to buy the house from an owner you have never seen before. What is the name of this drama? Phantom Menace? |
idupaul: Talk to the landlord .. Land Use charges are charged to Landlords and not tennants..I tire oh. We did this. We did that. Is it ya house or not. What are the terms of occupancy. And read the small print carefully. |
boniflex: God will see us true, heard there will not be any NEC meeting until its confirmed Iyayi went to heaven, how true is dis news? 0uch!!! |
Ukuts gp: why hv u nt died for d sin u have been committing since u were born till date. When it is another person we are quick to condemn and pass judgement. Now sentence urself 4 d atrocities u hv been committing secretly.Ouch!!! |
"Django About to be Chained" starring Kelechi as Django, Amuneke as.... Modern day slavery. |
musiwa112: it is the councilors in his local govt who has the power to suspend him.Hmmm...and they are busy forming a quorum in Milan. |
duke2000: I have read several posts here and discovered that many persons are not well informed about money laundering issues. Make no mistake money laundering (AML) represents a serious malady and is cancerous, and must not be condoned. That said, it is also true that banks all over the world are battling with this problem -this is not to exonerate Nigerian banks or water down the peculiar serious cases here.Thank you. It is only bankers that feel that the receipt and custody of stolen property is not a crime. If that is the case we can all keep, traffic and prosper from stolen phones, flat screens, cars, and even the neighbour's wife. |

Money laundering is a serious crime and if the DSS suspects the banks are funding conduits to terror groups then they have a right to go after them. If Lamido and sons are using state funds to indirectly terrorize the state it is too bad. Bankers very often underestimate the seriousness of their businesses and the severity of the penalties when they allow greed to undermine ethics. If it is too good to be true it probably is. If a rif-raff walks into your bank with ten billion naira, that is trouble. |
