deor03: Next phase:And you can be as sure that his snout has been in the trough as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. |
You're talking about airports. Have you been to our public motor parks or markets where millions change hands daily. Are they not well funded private sector operated enterprises. Mr. Man, Nigerians are simply like that. This is the way we love to live. These criticisms are like water off a ducks back. That airport will remain like that for a long time to come. |

No, no, no. ASUU must protest that Grand Theft Auto MUST be banned in the Kogi state government motorpool. Haba. |
Hmm. Guv Wada and the need for speed. Wonder what he'll do when that expressway is completed, hire Seb Vettel?? Rip to the Prof and condolences to family, friends and the academia. |
atlwireles: Sooner or later, we will free ourselves from this central control system. No nation can survival with this one size fits all approach. That's the direction of my drive. I can't see the government running universities beyond the next ten years. They are far too complex and expensive to collectively operate. Our run away population is not helping. Government should just concession the lot and retain no more than one per geo-political zone as centres of excellence. This model is not sustainable. The ivory towers cannot operate as islands in the sea that is national regression. Sooner than later, give it 5 years, the cycle will be repeated. We need new models, new ideas. Unfortunately the primary source of such hope is... of course...on strike. |
Hahaha. Why the judge no go adjourn go rub im belle wella. The story sweet no be small. Can't wait for part 2. The man get correct swag. 'Your other victims are mere millionaires, I am a billionaire. How dare you ask for only 100 million for my head'. Choi. Nigeria. But wait oh. Dis na kidnapping. |
So what do you eat, manna from heaven a.k.a angels food cos I thought all your co-workers will be dead from cholera. Didn't know they are alive to poison you. ![]() |
lovat: Two wrongs don't make a right. Killing them won't stop kidnapping rather a more pragmatic approach like giving them longer sentences and those ones that show remorse on the long run will be paroled and reintegrated back to the society.Look mister. Every society reserves the highest punishments for the offences that hurts it the most. Kidnappers, robbers and terrorists shed blood in Nigeria and we consider that vile. America found terrorism so vile it broke its own laws of rendition, detention, interogation and warfare to contain it. Now that the threat is reduced everyone is becoming civil. There were hangings and execution throughout Europe right uptil the 20th century when capital crimes abated and thus punishments were similarly relaxed. We are facing our dark age and need ultra tough laws to tackle our most vile crimes. When our society begins to develop we will relax these punishments. As for capital for financial corruption, it will surely come when we can surmount the obstacle of sectionalism or when we collectively view it as vile enough. Today the kidnapper is state-less, tribe-less and mandate-less. We the people know him not and so he must die. Tomorrow the politician will become exactly that. We will get there. Then we will become civil and preach holiness. Only then. |
lorenzos1: 100 people to die that's a lot oof waste, why not give them life sentence with hard labour..u can't curb kidnapping through this, you have to address the cause of kidnapping. Unemployment,Poverty,Hunger..Oga. Do you know how much an AK-47 costs?? |
moneybag100: Oga ooo..make osho baba sha dey waka with full battalion army because if the same kidnappers wey he signed death warrant for go nab am.....omo na him blokos dem go cut oo.It is State law not Oshiomole's law. The crimes are not comitted against the governor but the people of the State. Let us begin to seperate personalities from issues and processes and begin to build institutions. |
Eze Promoe: Do you mind explaining the bolded?Hmm. The knowledge of good and evil. Don't eat that forbidden fruit oh. |
Tomorrow is 11-11-2013, Armistice Day. At the 11th hour.... on the 11th round of Premiership matches.... the 'Guns' fell silent.... |
MEILYN: They wont listen. Thats how some catholics came to my house 2day, i was the only one at home, the rest had gone to church. I welcomed them in, they were talking and talking, they got to a point were they said the purnishment for sin is death, i asked them, is it physical death? They said yes, i smiled, i said, then why am i still living? Because i was a b.astard sinner before i knew God, they couldnt answer me. I started teaching them, i gave them that verse John 11:25. They buried thier heads, i wanted to convert them to Christ lol. But time was not on my side. We talked 4 an hour and the half though.Oga. Sorry to burst your bubble but they were correct too. The wages of sin is death. Death means death. Both physical and spiritual. In summary:On earth your physicality is prominent because of the disconnection from God but there is nothing I know on earth that isn't aging, decaying and dying. If God was playing with words, adam and eve will be alive today, so will the dinosaurs, so will my grand-parents. Infact I won't be aging. Don't mistaken existing for living. The spiritual precedes the physical. Jesus cursed the fig tree but it was only the next day the disciples noticed it was withered. Someone spoke about storms. These are manifestations of a decaying, dying world. |
Uyi Iredia: Yes. The unchangeable God changed inc€$t from being a sin after the earth was sufficiently populated. That was not God's will. Go back and check the sequence of things. We were empowered to multiply by a blessing - the proclamation of the Word. After the fall communication was lost and the ability to multiply came through conjugation, 'intimacy'. So if people have to marry their sisters to keep the human race going what did you want God to do. That was not His plan. It was not His plan that man will fail so badly. |
Oduduwaboy: ....you see the Filipinos are too sinful ; that is why the Christian god is allowing a v ;Dery terrible storm to ravage them right now & Vietnam is next!!!But you also know that God so loved His Son Jesus but he found himself in the midst of a storm one day while asleep on a boat. So storms are not new. They result from man's inability to control the forces God has set in motion - because of sin. They are not punishments of God. They are disorders. They have nothing to do with God's love which remains eternal. God put us on the earth to take charge and to pleasure Him by kicking Satan's b.utt but instead we gave Satan all our power in exchange for passions, feelings. That's why today we appear so weak, helpless and resentful. Jesus dealt with the storms, dealt with the devil. Do yours. That is what you are created to do. |
gratieao: God is all powerful. Yet He allows Satan to carry out his deceitful and destructive activitiesThere are many questions here to be addressed but know this; God created us in His own image and likeness so what makes God Almighty resided in us at creation. And He acknowleged that it/we his creation was 'good'. Good enough to overcome. The Word became flesh (of similar passions) -Jesus and was tempted like we are, yet was without sin. So its not the presence of Satan or sin but the will of man to resist and overcome because both God and man face the same pressures. Or you think God is not more villified that politicians yet without anger. He sees nudity day after day yet cannot be aroused. He hears the cries of the oppressed and sees the weak get killed yet does nothing outside His Word because he's faithful. |
Tundetiler2011: @ ganny listen to yourself, with will u,I wonder if u re God,sorry man,u re nothing but a pencil in the hands of alimight...eye rollingOh come of it. With this attitude your career and business has little prospects. Even if you are right and Mr. Ganny is wrong you don't talk like this. It shows you cannot bear stress and to air this in the very market where you display your wares is plain silly. Better keep quiet or respond objectively and respectfully. |
If this are the microchips that make up Nigeria then we have no hope whatsoever. Language, tribe and tongue are a curse to this country. When you'd think cross-cultural marraiges will result in a third 'language', new ideas and the dawning of hope, pigs still prefer mud. Utter rubbish. Hope your son will not inherit this ish. |
How? Students need to learn to go beyond the obvious. I do not see any threads on Nairaland where students try to be creative in solving their problems. I even threw out a few suggestions, but no one picked them up, because like I said, for the typical Nigerian, it is enough to simply vent. *I'm going to ignore your brainless prof comment because I am not interested in exchanging abuses (time too precious for that). I am however always interested in showing people that they can be much, much more.
But have the 'lecturers' themselves asked where the government is going to find 1.1 trillion naira. Or are they not also guilty of presumption that 'the money is there' or the usual - 'politicians should take a pay cut.'. Everyone just presumes here. 1.1 trillion is no small money. There are a lot of compromises that will have to be made in other parts of the economy/country I'm sure most have not recognised yet and ASUU/Education cannot bridge in the short term. The situation is bad, very bad. |
Hmm. Interesting change by Mr. Wenger. |
One chance, good goal. |
Giroud is a waste of public funds. |
CFCfan: Arsenal can still get the 3 points. They just have to find a way to nullify Blaszczykovski's runs in the middle. And who will do that in the red team full of attacking midfielders. Arteta is on a limp. Dortmund is a fantastic team. Watched them last weekend. |
Dortmund is just to technical for the gunners. Dense midfield, high pressing, fast breakaways leaving the gunners with one touch passes. Only Ozil has the close control skills to unlock them. Giroud is totally off the pace. His only chance at this rate is from set pieces. |
Arteta is short one in the making. Very lazy player. Comparing him to Flamini is... Hahahable. |
RedBenson: It's well only untill then and after then! Fg, dont make promises u wont implement when it's time. All is well! These fears show that we are not ready for the path to the good things we seek to enjoy. If we go about recognising and building institutions then we will not have these problems. Afterall should the National Assembly not be part of this process. Don't they vett budgets. Will they not raise questions if these amounts are not appropriated. Will they not remain in power even if the entire executive is removed. It is when we think and thus act that President Jonathan is solely responsible for the malaise and the solutions that we arrogate more powers than necessary or desirable. That's why it took so long and cost so much. There are far too many people in government that do nothing impactful except consume a disproportionately high percentage of our resources. Our fears should be that we all permit this. |
Cypost: Maybe ya uncle knew u won't need the land. If u r born there probably ya mom and siblings r there too. Not serious root in niaja. What if there is indeed a will here in Nigeria and the said property(ies) has been willed to the said uncle. The uncle knowing the lad cannot return and challenge the will proceeds. There are many unanswered question thus the numerous speculations. Op. Just make it a big deal. You will get your dues. |
josite: for now don't bother yourself .bother yourself with becoming financially strong for now and whenever you are strong, then begin to ask the right questions demanding the right answer.anyway the man too has same blood, exactly the same blood with your late dad so let it occur to you that his interests in your date predates your interest and therefore should be wisely accommodated. Adopt a common sense approach conceding some properties to this greedy uncle while asking the rest be given to you.be wise ,make the man no send u follow ur dad.lolWhat kind of answer is this. The brother's interests precedes the son? What kind of reasoning is this. So if you are in a sinking boat you rescue your sibling, lose your seed and destroy your lineage, your future. This family is clearly dysfunctional. The father had land in Nigeria, the son is stranded in the States. The father died there without a will. The son cannot prove relationship. These are the loopholes exploited that make the aberration possible. Without further details such as where his mother and siblings are and his childhood story it is difficult to say what can and what will happen. |
