Oya Muki and company. No live match for me so I need blow by blow, kick by kick, bus parking, passelona analysis from Camp No featuring snow white and the seven dwarfs. |
Nemerem44: Na today Barca fans go understand the true meaning of Italian defenceHa, ha, ha. Chei. See as the bus big like Young Shall Grow double decker. |
talk2s: Were you GEJ, what would have been your stand?I would have rejected it instantly and accused the promoters of trying to bring my government into disrepute. I mean. How much political capital is this man bringing into your treasury to warrant such depreciation. Except as I suspect it may all be down to good old blackmail. |
Well. What can I say. This is bad. This is very bad. It sends all the wrong signals. This is why I am in support of strong institutions. But wait oh. Constitution and law experts please come to our aid here. Can the council of state actually do this. Do they have the powers to. |
KINGwax: ur people have wasted more dn it's expected.Enuf na. Can't you guys detect the lines here. Attend comedy central once a while. Geez. |
Dejohnbull: To deconjest lagos, move (cma-cgm, k line, & china shipping) to calabar. Enl consortium & josephdam terminal service to warri. Sifax msc to join marskline in portharcourt. Grimaldis ptml tincan & Apmt marskline apapa, is ok & lagos wil be deconjest. How do you just 'move' privately owned businesses. By executive fiat. The shipping industry is not like that. Just like the aviation industry no shipper will be willing to 'scatter' his routes servicing these ports. Shippers prefer one destination port and the largest one for that matter for cost, economy of scale. If importers are willing to wait longer for ships to fill abroad and are willing to pay astronomical fees to ship to minor ports then fine. But as a businessman competing against cheaper shipping into Lagos I think not. The minister of aviation is trying to draw international airlines out of Lagos, Abuja or Portharcourt but Nigerians are baulking at the astronomical fees of sparsely filled flights. Perhaps the major shipping lines will do what the airlines did. Arrange with local transhippers to mule cargo from Apapa to minor ports. Good for roads but is it time and cost effective. |
pope732901: I am poet and like my friends tell me, I am very good but I don't get people to read my write ups. I need your advice friends.Be pro-government or pro-opposition. Nigerians don't appreciate anything else. |
Tinablack: Hu b ds 1?Ha, ha, ha. You're a sick case oh. Chei, Nairaland. |
Chanchit: I got to realize it was all a big fat lie when I got to Maria turn, is she worth $1b her self, or did Us government pay the insurance fee for her..?No. You don't get it. 1 billion is what she stands to get from the inco should something untowards happens to her legs. The premiums are a fraction of that but I can imagine must be hefty sums as well including all the humiliating do's and don'ts. |
You know. Sometimes we feel its the responsibility of the regulator to strive for quality service at the lowest possible price but it is also their responsibility to ensure that prices do not fall too low to compromise quality and eventually lead to the collapse of the industry. Sometimes they have to raise the bottom line by either executive fiat or by regulating market forces. Like what is happening in the Utilities sector in the UK. Prices can go up as well as down officially. |
Dude get informed. Power and telecomms are two different ball games. As a heads up, price of power ALMOST never comes down.
Not absolutely true. Investment can bring down the short and medium term bills. It is when full capacity is reached in a stagnating market, prices begin to edge up again. That's very long-termish. We are far away from there and may actually never get there. IMO its heavy bills in the short term, affordability in the medium term and slight increases in the long term as energy prices rise. |
Thats not the role of TCN. TCN is to transmit power to all the states, discos are responsible for getting the power to your house.
No. Discos are where you rock till you drop. Oliver, oliver, oliver twist... |
Hopefully, the light situation will improve @ realistic and low prices
It says 'Manitoba' not 'Father Christmas'. It can never be cheaper but it can certainly be better. With each passing investment and earned profit the regulators will have to force price reductions if there are no market forces at play to do that. GSM started out that way and is probably still more expensive than the defunct NITEL but my gosh at least its there. |
ZACHIE: How many powerful toes has this man stepped on? Not a fewYou just said it all. I am just so sorry for this country. |
I say, great move. If it is proper value added investment. If it is petrol importation and subsidy round tripping, hmm. Nigerians go curse you oh. The oil industry is very messy and like their palm cousin stains very easily. Watch out for the good name you have worked hard to build. You may be a force for good in that jungle. |
Given Dr Demuren's achievements in the past and history of being a strict stickler to rules n regulations; its a surprise this has come about only now in GEJ's shambolic govt. I can only wish Dr D well in his future endeavours. Seems like its time to take to the roads and avoid air travel in Naija.
I mix my travels properly. I don't play russian roulette. |
Ngwakwe: The NASS (CPC & ACN inclusive) demanded he be sacked after passing vote of no confidence on him..For doing what. Not speaking out and embarassing the government after the DANA crash. Said it then. It will turn round and bite him. And those he was protecting will eat him up. Its a fixed game. Head or tail you lose. Government wins all the time. Sorry. |
CFCfan: I don't think Demuren should have been fired. I rate him as one of the best ever NCAA DGs.He was the best ever. Period. Now it is 'stakeholder' in control. Sorry. |
If true, Nigerians should better stick to thier road travels. The ex-DG should return to the US or better go to one of those African countries and help them with the wealth of experience He has in Aviation. When you allow a mediocre take reign of rulership cowardly act becomes the trade mark of leadership.
An outstanding professional. If not for reasons of corruption then it must be the cowboys at play. The flying community must dust their spurs for unprotected riding. Sorry. |
REALITY101: 100000% bullshhiitThe first highlighted part is probably true. Even gums produced just ten years ago are different and the problem/quality appears to be worsening. The volume that naturally dissolves is next to zero these days and I've always suspected it was some artificial polymer. The bubble gums of those days were entirely ingestible. |
Yes. It can be considered if the necessary conditions are met by both sides. And the list is long. On the part of the government it has to get the approval of the people of this country through the NA. It cannot be by Presidential fiat. It must be debated so that the public truly appreciates the cost of such amnesty. Hopefully this will disuade those who wish such tragedies in the future. |

Just joining the game. Chelsea. A team of midfielders without a midfield. |
Blueboy0402: I have said it before and will say it again and again, PDP=APC and APC=PDP. Why all this noise about APC and logo? I know that PDP is evil and a killer party but let it be known to all that APC is not the Moses that will lead us out of Egypt.Save yourself. No individual or party can save you. Promote good policies, resist bad ones from whoever under whatever flag. Promote opposition voices but donot sell out to them because EVERY man with power WILL be corrupt. |
patrickmuf: When i saw the op was @sincere 9gerian, i gave up...I mean this dude here is PDPs puppet no. 1How do you determine party puppets. By the ferocity of their responses. Start reading from page 1 again. |
Solozzo: Jonathan has shown he wishes to inflame Nigeria more. He granted amnesty to nigerdelta terrorists, paid them huge sums of money and sent them to overseas for training. Why is he fhreatening BH with punishment? What is good for the goose is good for the gander.Seun. Stop this thing. So I can't use the word p**sy-footed anymore. Is it a sore word. Wake up oh. What is womanliness-footed or kitty whatever. Rubbish. |
Solozzo: Jonathan has shown he wishes to inflame Nigeria more. He granted amnesty to nigerdelta terrorists, paid them huge sums of money and sent them to overseas for training. Why is he fhreatening BH with punishment? What is good for the goose is good for the gander.Mr. Solo. Who is the government giving amnesty to. Go and read up what the term amnesty means and in what circumstance it is used. Do you realise it also a legal contract. With whom are you signing this contract. Who has come to table talk with the numerous previous offers. Do you know that whoever signs an amnesty document does so on behalf of the government and people of Nigeria and should he or she toy with it can be heavily legally sanctioned. So if you think the insurgents are right not to cease fire and 'come to the table' but expect 100million Nigerians to capitulate then you are not being realistic. To me this government has Kitty-Cat-footed on this matter long enough. If it was Obama, Hollande or Assad they will never do what you ask for. |
I don't even know why fire fighting has to be state exclusive. I think LGA's and below (county equiv.) should be mandated to run these services. You can't afford to have emergency response so centralised and distant. Fire, ambulance services, police, all first responders should be as close to the ground as possible. I speculate here that for fire equipment to deploy them firemen will probably jump through beaucrat hoops and then the inevitable 'where is the goddam place sef' and hope our fuel doesn't finish in 'go slow'. Another reason why fire fighting should be localised at LGA levels is that fire prevention standards and regimes vary so equipment and even training should reflect the different operating environments. The LGA on which the Lagos airport is situated should have equipment, personel and training peculiar to air mishaps. Perhaps the outcome of Dana will have been different. Similarly Lagos Island LGA fire service will have to contend with high rise buildings. LGA's through which gasoline pipelines pass, where refineries or industrial plants are located should have local know how and most especially ensure safety codes and practices are in place and monitored. It is only a local fire fighting unit that can ensure a timber market for instance is compliant to safety regulations cos there are hundreds all over Lagos. I hope authorities take a cue. |
Richfella: For now, yes.Hmm. You have a point. Hope Dangote's listening but on the flip side two of the three richest men in the world don't invest in that light but feel there's security in spreading. |
KGB2008: Jerry Agbaso.God don catch you.Former Comptroller of Customs in Tin Can Island who stole all the Revenue we generated to fund his election those days.Karma is a Bi***.This is what we are saying. Corruption doesn't start when you swear to be an accountable political office holder. It comes from way back, for most right from their youth. |
Very shoddy and unprofessional procedings. It appears the foremost objective of the investigation was to rule out sabotage. What else will bring down an aircraft if not pilot's error, equipment malfunction and weather events. If it was sabotage it will relate to any one of three causes and that should be the primary focus of the investigation. If there was any suspicion of sabotage the SSS and police should have handled that not the military since the victims were civilians on a civil mission. The military should not be answering such speculations thoughtless of conducting investigations because of such. Let politicians play out their politics. |
Unknown Member: Of the land is being illegally occupied, then it has to go.. #Simple..My friend wake up. Is there any settlement or habitation in the world that is not as a result of migration. The US, the UK, Lagos, Abuja, name them. I have travelled extensively through Nigeria, to many rural areas. Ask the elderly there and you will discover the vast majority were migrants going back several generations. The truth is that issues of land will always be issues of power whether it is Hitler annexing Austria or Hungary by war, the UK by the Vikings or the US by pilgrims. It is power. If you don't have the monetary power, political power or military power you have nothing. |
