ghost: Corruption have gone too deep, too comfortable into our Nigerian roots and fighting it has become too much a risk to take when the beneficiaries and their extended clans never want it changed.Don't worry when the PDP is kicked out of office all that will stop. I say no more. |
jasper7: MUSA: The only player that outruns a pass. Pls can somebody tell him that the ball is meant to be in front, not behindErr, roger that. |
onatisi: that is what we are talking about , experience strikers to deliver the goods not just hungry players running all over the field and not knowing where to stay or position themselves , why is Cameroon still using eto despite all he bad things that has been said about himYeah, guess so. Actually the most successful teams have always had a fine balance between youth and experience. Like one coach said, a good team is one with two players in each position of at least a five year age gap. Age here meaning active play. Meaning that if a new kid is joining the team there has to be active player in his position who's been there five years (one world cup+) before him. |
Eto'o scored a brace in Cameroun's 2-1 win over Togo. Dat guy no dey old ne? |
Oahray: yeah like how Spain drew their last match. How about the part where they won the world cup after a Euro trophy, and then bagged the next Euro trophy? No be 11 players dem dey field?Spain is an exceptional team coached by the best gaffer (according to FIFA). Their player ply in the best clubs in the world once again under the best coaches. Spain is exceptional. |
onatisi: with our pedigree in football we are not suppose to be having problems with countries like kenya , on our home soilIn games like this when form is rusty you need the 'fear factor' to eek out results. Unfortunately we lost ours years ago and one Nation's Cup trophy isn't enough to restore it. We need more and more wins and statement results. Ironically though Cote d'Ivoire hasn't won jack in over 20 years they command the kind of respect that will have given them a couple of goals against Kenya. We will get there. |
Oahray: We have to beat them in their home o. I consider a draw to Kenya as a lossC'mon cheer up. A competitive draw after a tournament trophy is a great result. Look at the stats. |
maasoap: Thank God for this last minute opportunity to avert shame. But we still need to prepare against the unfriendly treatment they are going to reciprocate. What's up with this cruel treatment gist going round. Didn't hear it. Were they stripped searched by Kim Kard at MMIA. |
Starlett: Thank God for that last minute goal o! So Keshi continues his unbeaten run. 15 matches now...Hmm. Interesting stat. |
Wow were down a goal. Hmm Keshi wake up. You're only worth your last result and as you know there lies a little Roman Abrahmovic in every one of us. |
aieromon: Martins is so eager to impress. Take it slow, bro. That's good. Let the hunger for the green white green return. |
Why do you think disintegration will solve anything? If Nigeria disintegrates, does it stop them from moving down south? Does it stop another group from rising in the south? Boko Haram started right from the time of Yar'Adua presidency so its not a "born to rule" mentality problem.
The second para just makes me laugh. |
Fidtad: Yeye dey worry u.Not about resigning but about re-contesting come 2015. |
What do u xpect to happen in a country rule by an ever drunkard so-called president & his Ijaw advisers?
Broaden your thought process. Even in the deepest depths of communist Russia champagne flowed freely. Chairman Mao and the legendary Ho Chi Minh were known to indulge once a while. Whose boat are you on. |
emmysenior: It is funny how some spend unnecessarily, while others can't afford a meagre health bill, school fees, a decent accommodation, 3square meals etc. So unfair. Now, this got me cracked upIt is not unfair. It is normal. Even the bible says the poor will ALWAYS be AMONGST you. That word is generic so even in top wine producing countries - France, the US, Australia there will be those who cannot afford a teaspoon. However can't say whether this is good or bad news for Nigeria. Although this reps massive cash flight but there are really no alternatives. Could this be a sign of a forward moving economy. Perhaps. That is if the patrons are real. Then maybe some of that sweet stuff might just trickle down. |
tellwsdom: NCC? Which party is that??Nigeria Communication Congress |
frosbel: Trying to educate the gullible on what the catholic church means when they say dialogue, it has nothing to do with telling them ,out of love, that they need to believe in Jesus to receive eternal life or they will be forever lost.Hmm. Are we seeing the prelude to the one religion movement leading to.... which we have heard so much about. Am all ears. |
An Icon is fallen. The black race has lost one of its finest whose works may never be equaled but whose legacy stands forever. You were one of those who made me love books and the art of introspection. May his family, folks and fans bear this loss with nothing but kind memories of his life and times. |
tojj: am sure this guy na omokobokobo, abiHe, he, he. Chai Nairaland. Abeg leave Okija alone oh. No trouble ma guy. |
Caracta: It's not that bad. We get respected and favoured especially if you are well-educated. I know black women in portugal are closely-knitted. If you are the hardworking type, you have no problem.Just drive by any foreign embassy in Nigeria and observe the queue. How many hardworking, educated people do you see. My dear the reality is very different from what you paint. |
braine: This doesn't make sense. I wonder if they considered factors like population and the location of the foriegner in the country. Majority of the top countries have low population density.Very, very few parts of Nigeria are friendly. If they are not zealously protecting their religion, they are protecting their poverty, natural resources or superficial culture. We are not friendly. |
I tend to look at systems not the people who run them and so I would say under this President democracy has advanced. He's tried to distance himself from his party affairs, the National assembly, the Judiciary and the opposition more than those before him. Allowing them to grow. Then there is this cardinal reason I support his Presidency but its not the essence of the topic. |
Nigerian teams habitually start tournaments poorly or should I say slowly no thanks to our legendary ineptitude, corruption and maladministration rolled into one hot shawarma. |
idupaul: My dear I fear ooo.. Suprised to see people hailing the woman for action ..so its better a man be murdered than allowed to date another woman .. Na wa ooo.. Wallahi most Nigerians are murderers waiting to be activatedI tell you. Just dial in their pin code and the Texas Chainsaw massacre will seem like Disneyland. |
For me whatever will cause a divorce will make the opposite sex equally unappealing to me so what's the point. |
palmasglobal: Just read it this morning on AIT That Celestine Babayaro is bankrupt, it touches me from my head to my feet. Please how do we revive this young man that sacrifice himself for the growth of this country, this young man that made this country proud in his days.Stop this talk. Celestine was once the poster boy for indulgence amongst so called foreign pros. You think we have short memories. He was warned, cautioned, advised, mocked, everything about his lavish lifestyle since his days at Chelsea. At Newcastle the problem only got worse. Its all documented. His bankruptcy is not today. He has been so upstairs for many years. Tommorrow people will call SOS for the 'bundle of skills' whose skills donot include keeping his wallet tight. Let them be blowing it on big houses, Bentley's, booze and birds with their white team mates who don't have to contend with double digit inflation. At least Cele should be a citizen. Let him go and claim welfare and arrange a council flat. |
No problem. Mr Aturu and the judge should find the money to 'control' fuel prices. If I were the government I will just file for bankruptcy protection. Then I will see who will pay. See why it is important for oil imports to terminate at NNPC instead of the CBN. Stories of NNPC bankruptcy some time ago will have ended subsidy. |
When I say the structure is more important than parties or people folks here take no heed. Now the APC is faced with a catch 22 situation. Let me see how they will square this circle. The east clearly does not accept the second fiddle. If the South-South can rule why not the East. If any slot goes to the west then its back to 2007. If Buhari stands the middle belt shears, the north will split. If Buhari does not stand then the northern left will vote any party with a northerner. People have been to simplistic in rating the political landscape. GEJ is corrupt, GEJ is incompetent, GEJ is this and that. Question is. Are these what wins or loses elections in Nigeria. You think those hooligans slaughtering people in Kano or Maiduguri care how effectively Fashola governs or even believe in Buhari's anti-corruption stand. Or what pains Ndigbo more, marginalisation or good governance at the Federal level. Much as I hope for APC's success and desire a departure from a one party state, the truth is that all the kites the APC flies today are secondary issues. Fix the structure of the country first and all other things follow. In this the PDP is well advanced. That's why Ndigbo sees a clearer path to its ideals than the return to feudalistic second republic politics. APC can and should do better. They should checkmate the northern power block that sees itself as more than equal partners. Nuff said. |
ujchief: Isn't it the airline their attendants sell meat-pie and 'kpof-kpof' on air? Funny how they will hand you one crusty meat-pie and later come and demand 1k for it.See what I mean. Its hard to square that circle. The math never adds up. |
By the way AERO only succeeded in rotary wing servicing the oil industry (as anyone will succeed) because the oil industry typically pays over the odds for its services. When they ventured into the 'real' market place to serve 'real' customers they immediately began to encounter 'real' problems. We as Nigerians should learn to develop our economy that supports the real space we occupy and the people that live there rather than constantly strive to create these little delusional islands of prosperity amidst poverty. The oil industry is one, the banking industry after recap was another, the telecoms industry before the entry of the red (airtel) indians was another bubble and of course the airline industry which is no more than elitist transport. They are inherently unstable because the two legs they stand on are diametric. They are MASS market business whose patrons are not the MASSES. So they cannot generate enough MASS to survive. |
Of course the poster is a concerned 'stakeholder' in Aero but has obviously twisted facts and conveniently avoided a lot of truths typical of Nigerians that have this tunnel vision of the company and industry they work in. If I may ask why is it that airlines require bailouts and the tottering ones AMCON. Before AMCON how were airlines including AERO funded. How did AERO transit from rotary wing operations we used to know out of Airforce Base, Portharcourt into this huge airline literaly overnight. The truth is simple. Aero bit much more than it could chew. It is in a phantom industry who's operators have an average lifespan of less than ten years. From loans and overdrafts to takeovers of loss making business. If your bankers cannot write-off your debts they will either morgage the business or take it over. That is the truth. Oceanic Bank did exactly that. If you cannot pay your debts you belong to your creditors. Whether they can run it or not is not your concern. They have every right to instal their management team. Aero's business plan was faulty, their expansion rushed, their cheapo tickets a disaster and their debts crippling. All in an industry that is not viable in Nigeria. Airline business is no business. I repeat again, aircrafts are playthings of the wealthy. Businesses on the other hand survive on the patronage of all. Bye-bye Aero. Was a bliss while it lasted. Appreciated those bone shaking flghts PHC-CBV-PHC though the maths didn't add up. Pity. Next. |
I don't vote but I support GEJ's presidency 110% and will do so in 2015, circumstances remaining as the same. |
