Like everything from ss.ee.xx. toys to oil reserves, it don't matter how big it is but what you can or cannot do with it. And the Boko boys all say 'Aye'. |
Beautiful exterior, but uninspiring interior.. Its like car companies have run out of ideas for dashboards..
You can say that again but that's the east for you. European fashion on the other hand appears to be holding its own particularly the Italians but then they don't come cheap. |
nmagirl: i was expecting this kind of super story from the NPF. Will they accept before? even if they were caught red-handed. I always ask if there is any police officer from a good christian/muslim background, with good moral upbringing, self discipline, self control; who knows the definition of integrity, love and fear of God. OR is there any kind of oath or initiation they take during training that is always making 99% if not all of them behave like beasts? They come from the same background as the rest of us. They are our dads, mums, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters, sons, clansmen, friends, fellow chorists and ushers in church and what have you. Vice in this country doesn't bear a human face. It is institutional, systemic and septic. Change the IG every week with a papal appointee and nothing will happen. From the same pot that society is cooked in comes the cop, the politician and the criminal. And all have the means to hurt badly. |
Believe in God.. And as for Nigerian Police they are the Crime we are all fighting.
Classic. Nuff said. |
In real Christianity there is nothing like 'boy-friend' and 'girl-friend' as we know it. In the bible there is single, courtship and marraige. Also in the bible the definition of love cannot in the modern context bring two people together. Rather the commitments of love causes many to abandon relationships. What we assume here is lust. |
manie: I am not too sure. Government policy really affected the performance of Dunlop, that is why investors and corporate managers need to be conversant with happenings in the business environment. And can you tell what government policy will do next to your portfolio. I mean Sanusi's actions are still hotly debated today and you prescribed their stocks when a postmortem hasn't been done. |
Redoil: oando went for ipo at 75 naira, it is now 17 naira under some scammer which i will not mention thier name. Transcop 7naira formaly .50kobo nown 1.50 naira Daar is almost dead intercontinental bank, oceonic bank, bankphb, costain west africa etc. All these ones are dead or reduced to ground zero. Finnaly statistics lies a lot, about the all share index, all those figure you are seeing were cooked up to show the outside world that we are moving.Hmm. Lies, damn lies and statistics. Anyway we've not considered the biggest daddy of them all - inflation. Manie can you kindly adjust for inflation and re-contextualize. |
But these are not new things. We all remember what went down then... don't we. |
He was at a government function so had to be politically correct. Dial him up in the evening for the authentic version. |
After reeling out the usually dour statistics, the kinds I've witnessed since I began to read and write, what is the solution - impeach the President. Sighs. Yet another half hearted, half ignorant, perhaps lazy attempt at understanding the country. Of course with a gaffe and a laugh of a solution. For his information since independence we've had only three civil transitions of government involving OBJ and Abdulsalami. All the others were 'impeached', that is sacked from office or removed against their will. Balewa, Ironsi, Gowon, Murtala, Shagari, Buhari, Babangida, Shonekan, Abacha and Yaradua. Almost every transition was greeted with optimism and celebration but everyone appears worse than the previous. It doesn't take a genius to understand that the problem lies not with the people or the presidency. Smart minds will rather find the common denominator that has sustained corruption over the generations, over several governments, over military and civilians, over several political groupings. I just don't have the space to detail but one thing for sure GEJ will not be there in a few years. The reporter or columnist will write another piece in his old age with the same damn statistics yet again. |
Cyrus the Virus "Make a move and the bunny gets it" ![]() https://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lx1796JNB31r066aa.gif
Oh boy. I just love those lines. |
You guys are da bomb. These are all classics. Its very hard to choose without a further sub-cat. There are psychos, pure evil, masters of the one-liners, horror, terror, etc. But I think 'the Joker' played by the late Heath Ledger is very very close to the top. That was a class act. |
Countryman93: Cheap gossip. First, it was an anniversary meeting and not reconciliation meeting. Political masturbation? Now I've heard it all. |
Soso990240: dnt say wot u dnt knw..there ar clubs out there in Epl dat wants 2 have him 2day 2mao.wher u informd dat QPR has printd his jarsey already,b4 his club found out? Yeah..dm dn gv am numba already.Haba. That was January, this is March going April. In that time Nigeria has won the Nations Cup and Keshi GLO Range Rover has clocked 2000 miles, three APC's have emerged and Tuface wedded Annie home and away. Man that's a generation in footy terms. What contract? |
The more he gaffes the more his tail is tugged. This thing will run and run until Osas is exhausted. His caretakers had better advice him to cease fire and surrender. |
iamdsam: The day he go try am reach Nairaland. He go finally end he carrierAre you certain he isn't here already. Some posts are... very Osazesque. |
Don't underestimate how much damage the young man known as Osaze has done to his career. A few months ago here on Nairaland, some of us were stating the obvious: Osaze was undisciplined. Folks gave all kinds of excuses. Okay o. No be today them born us. No be him be this now? The child who insults his father in private will eventually 'graduate' to start barking at all authority figures in public, and will finally get dealt with the way his father refused to. For those of you still defending him, you should start praying hard for him instead. There's still a lot of damage he could do to himself. He hasn't reached rock-bottom yet, although he seems intent on getting there through this his stupid twitter account. I hope he changes, but if he doesn't, and he finds his once-promising career gone, he will have no one to blame but himself...and those who refused to tell him the truth. Ogede n baje, won l'o n pon (the plantain is rotting away, yet you insist it is just getting ripe).
Don't mind them. His transfer value is eroding and they are here supporting him. You think any international club needs the kind of negative publicity this man generates. The Press rules the U.K. If you cannot handle them its curtains. You can't win. Bigger celebrities from Rooney, Cole and Giggs know this and live with the criticism. They make you, they can unmake you. If a puny tabloid in Nigeria is pushing his buttons it is a pity. Just advice the lad to close his twitter account. Many have done so. This 'what are they saying about me today' attitude is quite frankly girlish. If it is false reporting seek legal redress. |
Three things am absolutely pleased with: One. It was in consultation with operators. Two. It is possible because of growth and penetration. Third. It accomodates the small players. The telecoms sector is a success story so far. I just wish it could be replicated in the power and energy sectors. If government plays its cards right a decade of private investment can end our power problems. And I hope people can see that liberalising the petroleum sector remains the only way we can move forward. Prices CAN come down in Nigeria. May we have the courage to do the right thing. |
otokx: Thisday has joined the rumor monger mill, so unfortunate.Otokx your guv'nor dey among. Nothing spoil. N/D should not remain a one party zone. It is not healthy. |
Sormeh: If dis massive cross-carpeting sees d light of d day, den is good for our democracy, at least for d populace. To think dat it's d same corrupt PDP pple (whom we crave passionately to vote out) dat are moving to APC does not necessarily mean we will remain in dis socio-economic shambles by enthroning an APC govt. And what can Buhari as party chairman or as President do about a looting member in power. What are they doing about looting party men as we speak. Please democracy doesn't work that way. I said it last year that to ascend to power you have to make many compromises, jump into bed with total strangers. It has happened with CPC and ACN. Now with PDP. By 2015 will it resemble the party you once knew? Be realistic. Even in the Governor's Forum, the National Assembly and other pan political gatherings there is more opposition to the government from PDP members than any other party. What will turn this country around is beyond the actions of any one man. |
Eko Ile: Too bad when its all said and done, APC = Another PDP.Why not start with opposition first and let the furnace of the electoral process generate credibility. The understanding I have of power is simple. It corrupts and absolute power destroys. It is opposition that makes sure power is not absolute. If we are simply going to replace PDP with APC at all levels then we have achieved nothing. At the end the PDP will have to shed it corruption induced laxity and the APC its fundmentalist fueled gra gra to find the kind of equality that profits this country. |
thelastPope: Have you no shame that you have to post this? All I need to make a fool of you is to pick one of your post from an old thread.I don't think there is anything to be ashamed about. I mean whenever those statements occur they are made purely for political reasons. The PDP has been represented here by its agents so has the APC and its affiliates. It would be naive to think otherwise. In weeks to come anyone wishing to launder his image knows where to go. |
I knew the opposition will have to sell out at some point but this is way too early. The PDP will have time to recover and regroup. |
mercylicious: I can't stop laughing at d pics.Social media is just a tool. It is the attitude to these matters that count. Some just take a look shrug their shoulders and burp. |
Jakumo: The practice of Nigerian tanker drivers liberating a few hundred liters of fuel from their own vehicle is a time-honored tradition that is well known to both the suppliers and customers of bulk petroleum products. The average amount stolen in this manner is between 200 and 400 liters per trip. And its a time honoured tradition to collect salary cheques and fix same while teachers et al rant and rage. Seen that since my primary school. And its a time honoured tradition to 'chop' pension money while pensionaires drop dead one by one. Infact the current Eze and custodian of the traditional stool Alhaji Maina can't understand what all the fuss is about. |
Wow, this shit Kray! Corruption is everywhere, quick story: My uncle owns a sand truck for business, and always gives the drivers money to buy diesel for it, but alas one day his good friend in one of the filling stations told him some news. His friend at the filling station had told him that his drivers came over to buy diesel and offered to square the guys something to forge a receipt i.e they maybe would get 8K for diesel, buy 5, square the guy selling 500, and in turn the guy selling would issue receipt of 8k, aint that shit Kray? Imagine if they didn't happen to go to this station this time. Now my concerned uncle had to install trackers and camera in his truck, lol. @OP Thanks for posting this, if the guy really is stealing company fuel, then I am sure he is taking advantage of the inaccuracies in the tanks measuring system (+/- couple litres), so it may be undetectable to his employers to a certain extent. Anywho, who is really gonna check this guy, is it Police? Mhahahahaha!! Evil Laugh! (laughing because I recently went to a naija police station and saw chickens fighting, heya!!). So how do we really solve the corruption problem, I say it starts from a complete overhaul of Police, as in building 21st century Police academies, increasing their salaries to at least 200k/month, equipping them with fairly sophisticated gadgets like police cars with cams and mics, functioning walkies, coordinated response drills, and please have a FREAKING POLICE NUMBER ON ALL CARs, so concerned citizens are never in doubt of what the correct police number is, as it would constantly be staring you in the face everytime a cop car drives by.
You said corruption everywhere but then recommended the police. Is that not a paradox. Can the police be everywhere? How many policemen will you need to stand on every street, every filling station and in every office, how many. And if graft is everywhere, in the police nko. Who will police the police. |
pappilo: OP na oversabiOga, have you ever seen a commercial bus drive stop on the road to sell the fuel he bought. Tell the truth and shun corruption. People don't steal what belongs to them, they steal what doesn't belong to them. If it was his money he will have bought what he needed and if it was legit he will off-load it in his office not on the road side to fuel rats. |
saint22: He's not selling frm the consignment but frm his daily ration.the ration is for a to & fro journey.when u're given allowances say transport for a journey,it's not d exact amt that's been given & no oga at d top will ask 20 or 50 naira balance.bad opYou're trying to scale corruption. The small ones don't matter only blockbusters. |
Sorry OP, whilst your effort is commended, but are you sure that tanker was carrying diesel? The tanker appears to be an NNPC tanker used for transporting Kerosine for sale directly to homes.
He's stealing diesel from the truck's tank to sell to the black market. This multi-million naira business is costing government and businesses dearly and helping to inflate the cost of haulage. Practically every player in the OPS is affected from Julius Berger to Dangote. |
ifyalways: Good work,OP.Did he fill that tank from his salary? Reprobate people expecting the best. Righteousness not good government, righteousness not politicking, righteousness not alphabet soup exalts a nation. Countries that are run down are down on a game of numbers. The more people tend to do the right thing the better a family, community, territory or country is. Its not just about leadership. America is america because of americans not because of Barack Obama and Congress alone. Nigeria is nigeria because of nigerians and not Presidency and Reps alone. Lets all learn to do right. In sufficient numbers this country will change. |
