Good riddance. They think Piers Morgan is their enemy. Of course guns don't kill people, people kill people. Its their fundamental right.... even to die senselessly. |
Keshi has his work cut out on this backline. And when you consider that is where he held sway in his active days you just wonder ?? |
Penalty. Our keeper doesn't look sure of himself. Goal |
k2039: [color=soyouquotedme]Trust me, I want GEJ out, just like most Nigerians.About the highlighted portion. Never seen a more intelligent post on this forum. |
We know exactly what has happened to Hillary Clinton, where she is right down to the exact position of the clot in her cranium. Even people want to know the exact medications given her. It matters to them. For us in this part of the world mysticism remains a powerful tool in our culture. The less you know, the better for all. We will get there. |
I have serious doubts that Arsenal will make the top four. Their performance levels have significantly fallen and they have accumulated the lowest number of points since 1999 at this stage of the season and with tough CL matches to come. |
Well its here now. Don't give much attention to the fanfare over the changing of calendars or the passage of time. But my hope for all men including every member of this forum is that we grow wiser and reach further in the pursuance of all that makes for humanity. Have a happy and productive 2013. |
Like we used to hear. Talent may take you up but only character can sustain it. When he was battling Siasia and people were hailing him, we were screaming indiscipline. See how his career is falling to pieces before him. Whatsoever a man sows... He's busy insulting people involved in player selection and hopes to earn a call up. Na wah. |
REALITY101: One time I tried that with my girlfriend noticed she didn't give a shiit so I had to sneak downstairs to grab food from the kitchen at about 2am. Getting up from the dinning table unknown to me she was behind me the whole time I was smashing the food! We laughed and ended up with makeup sex.Well, technically girlfriends, sisters, cooks, etc are not exactly the same thing as wives. They are not under the same obligations in a relationship. A similar relationship in this context may be that between a parent and child. I mean an argument between a guy and his girlfriend has very limited legal footprint. Who will intervene in that. There's no institution at risk. |
kingphemy: Differenr stroke for different people.Am not too sure it is about not knowing how to handle situations but perhaps not wanting them to escalate. It is simply like civil disobedience, sit-at-home protest rather than a full blown riot. I think in some cases it is the mature course of action to take rather than the extremes we see particularly in the west of violence and divorce. |
Ayee Idris: That's my husband M.O. It drives so mad when he refuses to eat after a disagreement. This is someone that loves to eat. Unfortunately for me, i have not reached the mindset where his refusal to eat doesn't bother me cos i worry about him, and i really hate to waste food.i wish we could just fight without the food rejection. Gats to settle with him so he can eat. I may have set a bad precedence by always ending the fight when he enters his hunger mode, but he is like my first born child. His health comes b4 my pride. Always thought it was peculiar to my hubby but i guess its a guy thing.Hmm. Speaking as a man I am not too sure that his personal well-being is entirely the reason behind your concern. You must understand the psychology of this called food at home. When a man accepts to eat the food prepared by a loved one his mindset is that of absolute trust borne out of love. The kind of trust hitherto in custody of his mother. When he eats there is a part of his thinking that says you are open, exposed and vulnerable. Not to food poisoning or other funny things but vulnerability to control of his heart, his emotions. That is why once a trust alarm blows as in a hot argument his defences are triggered and he seeks to gain control of his emotions immediately. He perceives you want to gain control and rejects the avenue of this access. Men don't keep their emotions in fixed deposit. They want to be on top of situations always. We are hard wired that way. |
vanstanzy: I've gained an insight into the real problem of Nigeria... ITS PEOPLE! But not to worry, "A PROBLEM SHARED IS A PROBLEM SOLVED".Ha. What else did you think is the problem of any country before, its rainfall or density of mosquitos. |
Ada Nri1: This is a private matter. Most probably playing "dress up" with mommy. Here you are calling a little girl bad names. Who doesn't wear bikinisVery true but down the line the very girl will begin to shout. 'Why am I made a sex object by others', 'there's more to me than this'. Well, the foundation of course. My perspective of parenting is absolute neutrality. The only aspect that should be permitted and encouraged are God given skills. Attitude, disposition, perceptions must be as pure, as bland as possible until these kids come of age., responsible, knowledgeable and able to bear the consequences of their actions. In short words, give these kids the best possible chance to be anything later in life rather than pre-stress them and complain of unfulfilled potentials later in life. Once that kid in the photo perceives that her body has an inordinately weighty value I can bet you hardwork and mental acumen will begin to suffer and I can also bet someone somewhere will start work on making that clear to her shortly. |
faithin9ja: Posters like 'Beaf' of blessed memory advocated remove subsidy, let's pay the market value for fuel, nairalanders wanted to kill him, now we have fuel shortage, we pay N120 per litre and the govt is still owing billions to importers - what have we gained from 'occupy nigeria'?You never see anything. Strap in for 2013. The protest simply poured more fuel into the fire. |

ceejay80s: I blame christians, wetin dem find go there? Daily bread my foot. Leave dat God foresaken land and let me see if they will come and bomb any church in lagos or anambraI think those were indigenous christians. |
OsunOriginal: Igbos must be isolated and put where they belong - south east bush. With this, we know who we are talking to - human beings or animals. Nobody should come here and say southerners - Igbos should not be counted with Yorubas. And after this you expect your beloved ACN to secure votes. Typical arrogant talk of a conquering army rather than a political party. Talk associated with parties like the CPC who feel Nigerians owe them their mandate. Said it countless times. If the ACN is to grow beyond a regional, sectional, tribal party they have a lot, a lot of work to do. Starting with racism. And if Nairaland represents the air vortex around that party, then I can comfortably adjudge they have grown to the maximum size their political intellect can carry them. PDP may not be the most economically progressive party but when it comes to pure politics they are second to none. They represent best what the average Nigerian stands for. If the ACN and its members cannot come down from their high tribal superiority horses, then sorry. After 2015 the CPC will rather seek a cease fire with the PDP. |
Peterwins: I can vividly recall that Obasanjo staunchly defended mallam Nasir El-rufai ( former FCT minister) when the latter called the senators/national assembly members "fools" and exposed former senator Mantu for demanding a bribe of N50million. They (senators) called for El-rufai's head on a plate but could not have their way because OBJ unwaveringly backed El-rufai.Na wah oh. Is it government appointees that challenge elected Assembly men or the other way round. When they are summoned it usually means something has gone awry. You should understand how democracies work. The NA is the policeman of democracy. They may be wrong, they may be corrupt but when you are invited for questioning the worst you can do is play dumb. But to go there and attack, haba. Which democracy do you find that. |
afam4eva: What's really the problem the reps have with this woman. Is it because she exposed Hembe?Well the Executive and the Judiciary had a clean shot through the police/EFCC/and courts to rattle the NA but they failed. Maybe they thought they were stocking political capital. The NA is proving on the other hand that they are not playing. If you have a clean shot against an enemy sniper please crawl away if you can't nail him cos if you try and miss you won't get a thank you card. Same game the Executive is playing over the Farouk case. I bet the petite man will come back smoking next year and fry their tails. |
So happy. Now that the NA has discovered a way to shear the Executive our democracy can begin to grow. No more hiding behind the Executive or Presidency. Now I hope they can use similar measures to check other parastatals. Perhaps if they had held back 2013 pension funds the Executive will have given up the multi-billion naira fugitive Maina who they are protecting with police escorts. People who criticise the NA are short-sighted. Their elevated powers are yours. They represent you the ordinary Nigerian. They stood against the fuel subsidy removal (though it has turned out to be a disaster, rightly predicted) and have been raising dust against massive frauds in several ministries which have not been taken up by the Executive. Whether the lady is guilty or not is not the issue here. If the NA feels they cannot control and influence her office they can seek for her removal. Afterall she was not elected and certainly not in office by popular choice. She is collateral damage. A tool to shapen our democracy. Pity. She was baited and fell for it. Hope she and others learn from this and hope the NA realises that the Executive will get back at them. Once again to our benefit. The struggle, the seperation of powers, the building of institutions. Not the paddy paddy of the OBJ years. Who cares about individuals. |
[quote author=Ile-Ife]Osaze is arrogant? Guy when did you snap out of coma? He showed more enthusiasm and commitment than |
These are the best players available at this point in time. I think the question Keshi is attempting to answer by this list is the fact that soccer is a team sport in which the qualities of individual players do not necessarily sum up. |
dady12: for those claiming that GEJ did not know about this 9b are called fools at 40,if GEJ did not know about this, personally, i called for his impeacement, could you imagine, the cost of furniture, security gadget, fencing is more than the cost of the whole building, stupit people, the worst or the highest thing to purchase with all this our billions is private jet, thank God ,they are all clashing,we are watching because the wicked cannot go unpurnishedI don't think the President necessarily has to know or remember the cost or cost efficiency of a particular item in the budget except if it raised controversy in a previous meeting or if is of special interest to him. There is a budget office for that. There are lot's of other things he should be spending his time doing. Personally I can't tell the exact cost of every single item bought over a period of one year in my home or business except my attention is called to a particular item so I cannot place that on Mr President. Even the Head of Budget Office cannot tell. That's why we have close to a million people in government and political offices. And this is where institutions come in. We have this penchant for roping individuals with successes and failures in our polity. We can never develop that way. Let institutions to which we are all stakeholders be custodians of the standards of living we expect and let us hold them responsible instead for mishaps along the way. |
ogb5: The comments here make one wonder if nigerians really know what is happening to their country. You'd be joking to expect more from Nigerians unless it affects them personally will they desire the right thing. That's why our society is like this, sliding to ignominy. |
yuzedo: Once upon a time, we were fifth (5th) in the world...Yeah, once upon a time in Mexico. Love that film. |
How about this Jumia online supermarket. Has anyone purchased stuff from them. Do they sell quality wares and do they deliver on time. Any takers. Christmas shopping for we lazy shoppers. |
Stop advertising and encouraging laziness. There's nothing like work from home in a crawling economy such as ours that is service heavy and lacking physical goods of all kinds. Rather encourage people particularly our youth to embrace brick and mortar ideologies to develop this nation or else the deep seated social vices will never cease. People don't escape poverty by being smart but by being resourceful. These ideas peddled here are for once developed economies on their way down. We don't need such in Nigeria. |
oyb: So what do the board members who initiated the ubah loan get?Vinegar on hyssop leaves. |

samuelkaykay: Those who certified the plane worthy to fly after 15 trips should be jailed. Not right. That helo is a workhorse. It is designed for the endurance flights required in search and resque ops. Certain models can refuel in-flight to keep them airborne all day long. And take-off/landing cycles do not apply to rotary wings as such. However if the machine is not well serviced or serviced at all, the best machine will burn. |
