staaari: This capital projects development work is very insulting to the people of Ogun State!

Much more is expected from a state that boasts of Chief Awolowo, Tai Solarin, Mr Obasanjo, Prof Soyinka, Haruna Isola, Pa Ogunde, Chief Soleye, Prince Ajibola, Kwam 1, etc.

Only the best is good enough for the people of Ogun!
cool That's the problem. There's too much power concentration. And where there's radiation, life is virtually impossible.
Politics › Re: FG, Boko-Haram Hold Secret Talks In Senegal.. by Reference(m): 5:35pm On Dec 02, 2012
Its a catch 22 situation. Of course the early cessation is not in the interest of the top military brass not with the top of the range SUV's you see parked at force HQ these days. The world over, conflict is big industry and big business and the decimation of our treasury to war is in line with most countries over time. However I don't know what is being gained in making the whole thing secret after the bounty placed on their heads and can we say the ransacking of SARS has anything to do with fulfilling the conditions of these talks since apparently the police knows not who exactly has or has not been freed in that raid neither will they make it public exactly who is there in the first place.

These are the people to supervise infrastructural works when you declare a state of emergency in any sector. When supervision by for instance the Ministry of Works on any project fails, these guys should be brought in. In tough terrains where you have insurgencies and militant activities these guys can be engaged and for critical infrastructure like railways and dams. Most of the rail-lines laid by the British throughout Africa and Asia were built under psuedo-military supervision. The jokers called contractors and their corrupt and inept paymasters has certainly not served us well.

What's wrong with that statement. He was my best staff, period. To me that is commendation. That is the perspective I'd rather choose. The man was related to him by employment only. Nigerians always bring sentiments and personalise everything. Those who were related to the deceased by other means will remember him differently and respond accordingly.

lakeside4love: If the english premier league would've been a classroom, then ARSENAL-is a boy who works hard throughout the yr but fails to succeed because of his greedy rich family that is not ready to spend on buying books.MAN CITY-is a boy who purchases all the expensive books but is never ready to read them. LIVERPOOL-is a child who is very much proud of the academic achievements of his grandfather! MAN UTD-is a boy who never looks serious at the begining of the term but just performs in the final exams and tops the class. Finally, CHELSEA- is a boy who fails to perform and puts the blame of failure on his teacher and then his family finds a new teacher for him every year!
Hmmm. Interesting.

Whatever the case he's cast his name in stone in the club's history. Achieved the best result the club has ever attained even when coming in mid-season and serving in a caretaker capacity throughout. I also appreciate the dignity with which he conceded defeat last night. He'll get good offers down the line. Wish him all the best.

The longer the list, the less attractive the job. You may end up getting only buccaneers, freelancers and gamblers.

The flip side however is that when you spend such amounts as Roman does, patience gets worn very easily.

Because it offers aid free practice whether it is the un-padded, un-powered steering wheel, its clunky gearbox or its spring filled seats. You get to sweat it out. Well I really don't know. Its a similar manner to that about whether its ideal to allow elementary school kids use calculators really. Neither here nor there.

Roliks09: In short, those behind Haliburton and Siemens are bigger than Jonathan. So big he cant even say anything about them. And also, nothing on the salaries of public office holders.
These scandals essentially involved ex-heads of state which no one has been able to hold to account. That's the truth. The institution of corruption is bigger than any in the present federation.
Christianity Etc › Re: Days of Praise (2) --- The Divine/Human Word by Reference(m): 12:56pm On Nov 18, 2012
afam4eva: My lifelong dream is to be a billonaire. It's not because i'm not content but because i want to be in a position to help the less privileged.
Everything part of this statement is good, honorable and desirable. The only part that is the problem is the first word, MY. This is where God has a problem with us. Liken it to this. I have a poultry where I raise chicks. It is my desire to have fully grown, healthy birds at an appointed time. I'm sure my birds agree with this so they eat voraciously as I give them food. The problem arises when it is time for me to get my money back. If the birds say well, thank you sir for all the food but I want to be set free like my colleagues roaming the bush to do what I like. In this case, how will I as the owner feel?

Material things are never the problem in themselves. The problem is unto what purpose. What is the end game If we cannot be accountable to God, then its better if we did not exist or He did not invest in us at all in the first place. Contentment simply acknowledges you have an owner who dictates the pace of your life and appoints a final destination. Just eat what he gives you an shut up.
Christianity Etc › Re: Days of Praise (2) --- The Divine/Human Word by Reference(m): 12:43pm On Nov 18, 2012
Contentment simply means a state of being physically, mentally and spiritually stable in the place or position God wills for you at any point in time. It has nothing to do with dreams and aspirations, plans and progress. It just says you are not anxious about what you don't have nor call to question the place or position you have not acquired.

People who are not contented cannot do the will of God nor follow him because He will always appear too slow, too daft or too old-fashioned for them. That is one extreme. The other is that the lazy and slothful hide under this scripture and cover their failures with it. They should know this: God desires the very best for His people in EVERY aspect of life and good living. He just wants it at His own time, at His own pace and for His own purpose. If that is good enough for you, then you wouldn't err.

duality: GBAM!!

this seems to much for Gbawe to comprehend.
But we know that a first class company of international repute will almost certainly not get it. Look, the article clearly says Nigeria needs 10 billion dollars a year of investment to grow the industry. I simply can't see who's going to raise such on that list. And when you have a cartel that has lived all its life on generators to set the pace, do you really expect stable power anytime soon. We simply need people with standards far higher than the Dangote's can offer just to lead the race.
Politics › Re: Nigeria Scraps Canada Power Contract In Privatisation Setback by Reference(m): 8:20pm On Nov 14, 2012
But I thought the general consensus lately was that transmission infrastructure was a security no no to the private sector thoughtless of foreign interests. Anyway I've always had my doubts about this privatisation and wish to repeat that if this was how OBJ handled the telecoms sector, it will not be near what it is today.

Its a real pity that we donot have one single global or regional player operating independently at least to set standards and pacemake power investment. The power privatisation model we have today rather bears semblance to the fiascos we witnessed with our prized foundaries at Ajaokuta, Sapele and of course Ikot Ekpene.

Oga, with a 2 billion dollar investment you should be able to get free land from any serious government and I'd gladly take 10,000 closed 'devil's workshops', menial jobs or not.
