Islie:Valid point. The only lie to this position is that if the announcement was an increase even by 1 naira, the private marketers will implement the change within 30 minutes of the announcement. Our government deals with us citizens. But the one wey we dey do ourselves naim bad pass. |
MelesZenawi:A superior court (Appeal Court) granted a stay of execution. We wait to see who the enforcers of the law will obey. |
It is a no brainer really. How can you depose a king, banish him and keep him in custody in this modern time and age? You can ask him to leave Kano for a while to give the new king some time to settle into the role and avoid any blowback form his supporters. I'm sure the man wont mind doing that. But holding him in a location against his will is so wrong. Some of these gaffes from government are needless. |
agwom:"Threatening to sleep outside" Threatening who exactly? ![]() |
dre11:Why don't we enact a law to behead everyone that has a headache or gut everyone that has a stomach ache while we are at it. ![]() |
LindaIkejiNews:His rant is incoherent. One can barely make sense of the ramble from the son. It looks like the young man is also suffering his mom's mental health challenges. Many years ago, Kemi Olunloyo also went on a rant on the the internet disowning her parents. If I recall, she went as far as acusing her father of using her for his juju. Seems this is becoming a generational curse. May God have mercy. |
Myself2:I agree with you. But elsewhere, judicial reviews are done to correct dangerous precedents with the benefit of hindsight or against current realities, and not set them. Also judicial reviews are usually undertaken by neutral parties after sometime has passed so as not to create a disruption of order but set a new precedent. The current supreme court has only nine active judges out of it's full complement of 14. For a case of these kind, you must have a panel of atleast seven at every given time. What that means is that you are most likely going to have the same judges, bar one or two, sitting to review their own judgements that were delivered only a few weeks ago? Isn't that an aberration? I read somewhere that the PDP has written to the CJN asking that five out of the seven judges that presided over the Imo case, should recuse themselves from this review. If that happens, it means only four judges will be available for the review. That is less than the seven required to form a quorum. So what's the point? So while I agree that judicial reviews are normal and necessary sometimes, we should not allow the procedure to be so whimsical abused by our selfish politicians. |
wwwihy:This is absolute nonsense! That panel had 6 other JSCs and not just Mary Odili. Are they going to go and picket their houses too? Politicians need to be careful with all of these dangerous precedents they are setting. The police need to put down this protest immediately. |
janefblog:These ones are agitating for a "reversal" of the supreme court's ruling. The "review" as undertaken by the Supreme Court, might not necessarily lead to a "reversal" of the judgement. This "review" in itself sets a very dangerous precedent of having a trial after the trial. If the court then decides to reverse its own judgement, it will be dangerous. It means that the judiciary has basically hijacked the electoral process and all that politicians need to do after losing an election is to sponsor an agitation, apply for a judicial review and get into office through the backdoor. The elections have held, the courts have reviewed the results and made their ruling. No matter how imperfect the ruling may be, I think we all should accept the results and move on. We keep complaining that our judicial system is not good yet we keep supporting politicians to further ridicule the system. |
Yoighaman:I think the person shouting wolf here is relative. Amaechi did not cry wolf. Aisha Muhammed cried wolf and Amaechi debunked the claim. |
Everyone is taking this woman's word for it on the basis that her relatives were on the train and saw the Minister's convoy running away. Since she doesn't have any documentary evidence of this situation, is there a chance she could be lying. Or are we just to take her words because we do not like Amaechi and Buhari? |
Berachahrent:Thanks for your prompt response sir. I will be in touch soon. |
Please what will it cost for front and back KYB shocks for Toyota 4runner 2008. |
nairavsdollars:To be fair, Government's choices in this matter are limited: Option 1 - Kill everyone arrested on suspicion of being a member of Boko Haram. The danger of this is that a lot of people who aren't really Boko Haram members as well as those who were forced and coerced into joining Boko Haram will suffer unjustly. Human Rights organisations, backed by most western governments and partners will come for you and impose even more sanctions on the country. Option 2 - Incarcerate them in detention centres for the rest of their lives. Current prison facilities simply cannot accomodate them so government will have to build new prisons. Then government must further spend tax payers money on catering for these prisoners probably for the rest of their lives. The government can ill-afford that at this time. Option 3 - Profile all of the detainees with a view to determining the extent of radicalisation. (There is a scientific way of doing this and there are people trained to profile criminals.) Neutralise those found to be steeped in the Boko Haram ideology. Those ones are a hopeless case. Commence a deradicalisation procedure for the others like the government claims they have done. Equip them with some basic survival skills and cut them loose with a small purse. Track their progress as they reintegrate back into society. The only thing that I see wrong with this move by the Nigerian government is the undue publicity around the process. Though I doubt there is anything the government does that won't be criticised because we now view things through a political prism. Deradicalisation programmes like this one are one of the most effective preventive counter-terrorism measure adopted by countries all over the world. |
Awol1:GEJ paid counterpart funding? Can you show proof of this? The way some of you talk, it is almost like you wish the project was stalled or didn't even exist just so that you people can continue to hold on to you fallacious claims that Buhari hates Igbos. Unfortunately for people like you, Buhari "hates" the Igbos so much that he is determined to complete this project as well as any other projects in the Southeast before his tenure winds up. If he doesn't the next President of Nigeria will continue from where he stopped. |
just2endowed:All of the networks charge the new 7.5% VAT charge. MTN is only transparent about the charges while all of the others are silent about it. |
uncastableodd:Seems to me like you truly nag a lot. ![]() Seriously though, accusations of infidelity are not stuff for careless banter. Don't throw them at someone and expect them not to get defensive...even if they are truly not cheating on you. Vaginal thrush is an infection a lot of ladies have now and then...some more frequently than others. She may have felt embarrassed by your decison to confront her about the cream hence her aggressive retort. Take it easy on your woman. Trust her until she gives you a concrete reason not to. Also try and stop the "pack and go" threat. No woman will be happy to hear her husband say that to her because it tells her that her place in your life is not secure. Most women don't handle insecurity too well. You need to make her realise that you are in it for the long haul and all you are doing is trying to make her a better person. It will take a lot of work but if you keep at it, you will succeed. Good luck! |
BOYLOVABLE1:First of all, forget all that "She" talk. You have been gisting and sharing nudes with a man like you. The nudes "she" shared with you are probably some random pictures gotten off the internet. You have done the right thing by blocking the fraudster. Now just wait. The person's next move will determine your own next move. Whatever you do however, DO NOT SUCCUMB TO A BLACKMAILER. If the person makes contact again perhaps asking for money or anything like that, ask for the person's account details. It could prove a very useful way of tracking the person if necessary. If you are asked for a personal face to face meeting, do not go alone. Swallow your pride and go to the police. Do not be afraid. You made a mistake but you did not commit any crime. Goodluck! |
agemmy113:You did nothing wrong in paying her a compliment. But perhaps she isn't used to receiving compliments. I know there are some women I compliment even in my office and instead of saying a simple "thank you" what you get is a frown and a rude "meaning what" response. For those ones I simply apologise and know never to compliment them again in the future. Your madam may be dealing with certain insecurities about her looks. If she kicks up a fuss when she returns, stay calm and tell her you meant no disrespect. Then go ahead and apologise and keep it strictly business going forward. By the way, do not say anything unless she confronts you directly so you don't end up putting the snitchy househelp in trouble. ![]() |
EZENDIZUOGU:Which state did Rochas rule for 8 years and on which party's platform did he win 2 terms? |
Dsimple:So you really think it takes a few days to write a judgement that takes an average of 10 hours to read? Not so my brother. Courts aren't influenced by "outcries". Courts base judgement on arguments and evidences presented before them. Sometimes courts deliver judgements that may be seen as unpopular. But the law is the law. Courts operate by the legal doctrine Fīat jūstitia ruat cælum. |
I wonder why we are always so quick to accept and celebrate every denigrating assessment of our country by the west. It is shamefull really. |
OLAADEGBU:This is a a manifestly unfair assessment of the true situation of things. Agreeing to this assessment is akin to spitting on the sacrifice of the numerous soldiers that have died providing security across the country. Government has done a lot and take it or leave it, the situation has improved. However, there's so much more that needs to be done. |
Kylekent59:Oh that's a new twist. But I think that report was about Ifeanyi Ubah. |
Kylekent59:Anything could happen like what exactly? The court is not called "Supreme" for nothing you know? God forbid, even if Uzodinma drops dead today, he will be succeeded by his deputy. Ihedioha cannot smell office again till the next elections. My advice to him is to go and rest and map out strategy for the next election rather then expending his lean resources sponsoring pointless protests. |
Blue3k2:This is what should have been done snce rather than all of the pointless grandstanding and sabre rattling in the media. Let the judiciary do its job of interpreting the law and guide all concerned in this matter accordingly. |
For country wey man 'o war and boy scout dey wan slap person for road! Country wey even corporate guard dey wan shalo pesin and dey claim staff sake of say em sef wear uniform...afterall uniform na uniform. Country wey police na armed robber and armed robber dey wear police uniform. Na dat same country naim Amotekun wan operate? So by the time wey all the other region form dem own "Amotekun", na wetin come remain? Na who go dey control Amotekun? Na who dey regulate their activity? No be this country we dey wey Gani Adam and OPC hold Lagos hostage during Obasanjo time? No be this country we dey wey Bakassi boys terrorise Southeast region? E don tey like that wey we don forget? Why we no dey learn anything for this country? Why we dey always do like blockhead pickin wey no fit learn? |
chibaby1985:You go fear headline naaa! See as they spun the story to make it look like something scandalous had happened in the church leading to the staff resignations. To resign from your workplace for the purpose of relocation abroad isn't bad. If I tell you the number of employees that resigned from my office to go to Canada in 2019, you will be shocked. Bloggers just like sensationalising stories. |
Xisnin:Sadly, I don't belong to the party or the religious group you think. This paranoia will do no one any good. There are bad eggs in every tribe and religion. Comparing a government to a terrorist group because you aren't happy with their appointments or policies isn't right. |
ijustdey:Bishop Kukah has lost the plot. It is unfortunate. |
Koval12:Right now, even Putin is much more stable than Trump at the moment. Trump is as erratic as a 6 year old with real nuclear codes. He is the greatest threat to world peace right now.

Omooba77:Based on this description, NIGERIA is ok. It is NIGERIANS that have a problem...a BIG ONE! |
